The vehicle itself was dark color with rainbow stripes on the body when it was still RTD in the early 80s. And also when they still had the old double buses with the big caution sign on the back of the window and the AM general buses with the AC box connected to the motor on the back off the bus also the GMC fishbowl buses with the AC box connected above the back window of the buses good old days brother👍👍.
Ahhh yes, that good ole shopping cart noise of the old RTD buses. I will never forget that sound. I remember riding on one of these buses, going about 50 mph on a 35 mph road, felt like 100 mph LOL!!😂😂😂😂
I used to live in New Jersey before I moved to Long Island in the early 2000's, I remember the engine sounds of the buses very well, the NJ transit had 100's of these, LI has none. I miss these for real. Reminds me of when I was a kid.
These MCTS Buses were the 1982 Neoplan N-416A Bus had the same engine sound like that in Milwaukee since the 1980s and 1990s. I used Ride the route 58 and route 68 to anymore on this Neoplan Bus. But I have a dream about it riding on it.
Dios Mio!!!! Listens that V730 main forward clutch plus Driveshaft roar plus there old viscious hyrdolic fan clutch southing as wells!!!! even the airbrake will and your gitty too hears again!!!! is sound exactly like are eraly order Series RTS II model T8J-204 delever 1983 plus Jamaica Buses plus Green 1985 Jamaica Quees plus all MaBSTOA fleer from very early as wells. is a real joys hearing there 6v92TA i has worked so manny years is my tears. FANTASIC recoding amigo!!!!A+90000000000000Star!
i miss all the damn RTS...these held a special place in my heart along with the 83/84 neoplans...very well built pieces of machinery....and ea lemme know when you and the guys head up to the IE for some fanning...ill actually be able to go lol
delvin delvintumbling84 I loved these GMC RTS buses so much as a kid. Part of the reason why I even liked going out the house on various trips around Los Angeles with my mom, was so I could see GMC RTS buses and hear them pull away.
Sorry for hiding this one ... lol. Actually I had this one on my fileden page. Luckily I uploaded there. The other good stuff I had crashed on my old computer. Since then, I learned a valuable lesson. Save your work.
Oh wow! These totally remind me of the 1982 GM New Looks that BC Transit / Translink ran in Vancouver (15 of them) which were powered by the Detroit Diesel 6V92TA engine and the Allison V730 transmission. They were also equipped with Telma 4 stage retarders of whcih I found quite smooth.
@@hoodmistressreloaded True. But we were calling it dirty long before NWA ever came out. One of my homies did a rap song on it back when it was .85 cents to ride the bus. Rough, Tough and Dirty/Rrrrrrr Teeeee D

I still remember those Neoplan buses the 3300 and a 3400 series back in the mid 90s I used to ride those buses to school back in my Junior high and high school days when they were still the 420 route and 180 route they're cool buses and fun to ride on. The only Neoplan buses I didn't like was the 1100 series it didn't had no rear door and it was a safety hazard too the back seats were too up and the rail pols was too close above my head it could resolve a head injuries I'm glad it got retired in 2000.
those gmcrts buses I ride those septabuses in the 90s they were built between 1977 and 87 we have the 1995to2006 nova rts buses and most njtransit drivers like them more than the nabi41615, s and the grummanflxible 870 adb buses I've rode them when they were around from 1999 to 2013 I've rode them on short medium and long runs 1266 was on the 553 line from upper deer field to Atlantic City and the nabi 4161505s send them novas to retire from the service of njtransit novabus are still from the rts family tree gmcrts from the late 70s to the 80s tmc rts buses from 1988 to 94 and the nova buses from 1995to2006 rts buses are very good but I've like the sloping back buses more and the 6v 71 and 92 powered Detroit diesels what turns me on Cummins diesel and caterpillar diesel engines are good for the environment but boring nova low floor buses are the future buses but they will not turn me on at all the older the better
I rode these busses everyday to school. I can still remember the sound and smell of them when they were brand new

They sure do.I miss the 7500 series RTS that ran here in New York as well as the rest of the 1981-86 GMCs and 1987 TMCs
I approve of this recording. I wish the DD50 engines sounded like that.

These buses were alright, I still like those neoplans AN440-A Series.
If you stop too fast, the engine sounds like its gonna stall..lol,I remember stopping hard just to make it do that, the 4400's were a blast to drive.
MCTS had 5 GMC RTS buses with the same engine numbers 3220-3224
Reminds me of how Cobb Community Transit TMC buses used to sound before all 19 of them retired in 2008
