You don’t have to remove the filter housing you can rotate it 180 degrees and remove the old filter in place, then reinstall into housing. You can use a metal dental pick to remove old rubber ring. Rotate 180 degrees reinstall.
The scupper drain (oil collecting attachment) is captive (permanently attached). The only thing you need to bring to the party is a tubing that will fit over the drain port and NOT melt if you’re doing it hot. *I made a mess on my wife’s car when I chose poorly on a makeshift oil dam (GT350).
