The only other version that comes very close to the one used in P&P although I miss the flute accompaniment, so the Warnock Quartet comes first place for me and then this. But good work. I am glad there is another video on this excellent piece.

Superb version, bravi, bravi. What is more remarkable about the P&P 1995 version though is the bass: a Serpent Horn! Well, and seeing Colin dance with Jennifer. Some things one can never forget.... Now who is in the painting on the easel?
Hi. The piece was played at a ECD ball, in Montreal, Quebec. It took place in Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. a very famous high school, formely held by the Jesuits. P.E. Trudeau and many french canadian members of the elite studied at Brebeuf college. The Jesuits no longer have the gestion of the institution. The painting you see is, I think, the one of Jean de Brébeuf, one of the first jesuit missionaries that came. with the first arrivants, to evangelise the local population. Jean de Brébeuf was killed by the aborigeneeses.
@@bertrandlamoureux1 Merci, Monsieur, The work to me is very spiritual so the setting seems appropriate, though I still miss the Serpent Horn. And were the "aborigeneeses" punished or do they now still rule certain parts of Quebec?
@@bluegrassancientlockwood9754 The serpent horn is not played anymore, today! We miss the look! When the french came in north America, they made alliances with some aborigenese tribes. They allied with the Hurons, Algonquins, Montagnais etc. Since these tribes were ennemies of another tribe, the Iroquois... the Iroquois were then naturally ennemies to the french... A few century later, The aborigeneese that did not assimilate or die from european diseases (to witch they did not have the right immunitarian system) were were parked in so called : reserves. Where they still are. There is a movement, now, to reckognise the important of their culture.

Beautifully played, somewhat of a challenge for a beginner on the D/G melodeon, Jack is forgiven.
Linda música!!! Muchas gracias. Me encantaría tener la partitura de esta canción. Si alguien sabe donde puedo conseguirla, sería de gran ayuda.
envoyez moi un message à bertrandlamoureux@yahoo.fr et je vous enverrai la partition.

Do you have a recording of this without the fadeout at the end?

Or, you can also send me a E-Mail at the adress you see on the video ( bertrandlamoureux@yahoo.fr ) and I'll send it to you.
Can I buy the full recording of this song?
You can try to extract the music from the UA-cam link. If you dont' succed, send me a mail at the adress you see on the video ( bertrandlamoureux@yahoo.fr ) and I'll send it to you.
Who else thinks the guy on the left looks like Daniel Radcliffe?
It loses something, without the brass
A bit out of balance with the lower voices but well done.
