Ronaldo is a vital player for Portugal, the perfect leader, the experience counts so much. Goals isn't everything, and Ronaldo showed that on the pitch today with the assist.
Would also give a shout out to Pepe who at 41 showed all of his experience playing at the highest level. He makes up for his lack of pace with amazing positional awareness.
An assist which the classless Bruno failed to replicate moments earlier when he opted to shoot into the crowd than to square to Ronaldo who was clear in space in front of goal. Portugal can’t go far with such average midfielders who are playing for their own glory.
sad that he didn't learn this lesson many years ago. A goal is a goal, it doesn't matter who scores it. I know 12 year olds on the internet use goal stats to decide everything in life.

should probably tell ronaldo to tell fans hes encouraged it during training only after the first couple did he realize the hornets nest he was stirring up. I can understand maybe one kid getting past stewards, but not another 3/4 of them. There were clearly enough of them standing almost shoulder to shoulder and they should have been able to intercept anyone as soon as they looked like they were about to jump the boards. @@Fragmentalism - This tournament is wide open in my eyes. Any of these teams can lose before making the final. The team that makes the least mistakes will win this tournament. Doesn't matter how talented the team may be when shots hit the crossbar, VAR overturns a goal on a razor thin offsides call, the lesser team gets a goal off a defensive mistake, or it goes to penalties where their goalie simply guesses right more. I want to see Ronaldo go out with another Euro, but it won't be easy at all. They have to be the ones where the football gods give them the edge.
I think there are at least 6 teams with enough quality to win. I would be very happy with Portugal in the final, hopefully not against Germany as we never seam to win against them in major tournaments.
