Thank you so much for this! Your tip about marking the tracks with a waypoint every few hundred meters has saved my butt so many times. Your videos are always wonderful and informative!
This is without a doubt the hardest thing for me to do. To know whats worth tracking down, how long to spend before giving up, how fast to go and how much sound is too loud. Thanks for the vid.
Another tip if your tracking your animal and the tracks suddenly disappear then put a waypoint on your track go to the nearest outpost and come back it will highlight any hidden tracks
I had a diamond potential bear run away from me and I had to chase it for hours and I ended up losing it. I had no problem tracking it but I don't know how to catch up to it without it running off again. It's so frustrating
Sometimes when I check tracks the animal calls right away. I don't think it's just by chance because it happens a lot. I like to see a video on spotting next. Great content, keep it up.
I did but it was put out by EW but it was outdated. I’m putting together a chart of my own numbers from playing - numbers straight from the current game and I’ll repost.
Ok but what do you do when you keep trying to track the animal but you keep spooking it cause its in foliage and you can never spot it so you go on an endless loop of spooking then running after the animal? this is call for help because it keeps happening to me
The hunting pressure leads you to where the animal was shot and you track from there. The bloodhound dlc will do it all for you if you're interested. I love my dog!
I redid my skills to choose disturbed veg. It seems to me that it gives the same info as poop so I am not sure why you like it. I gave up pack mule which I like because I can carry a tree stand and a couple weapons. Further explanation appreciated.
Thanks for the video. A related question but this is about tracking after shooting an animal not before. Twice, once yesterday and just now, I had an animal seemly vanish. In both cases, the animal and I became separated by more than the render distance. Yesterday I was mauled by the herd of deer just as I was walking up to the dead deer and woke up at an outpost 500-600 meters away. I always mark the animal with a waypoint before I shoot, ran back, blood splatter where the body had been but no body to harvest. Today I hit an elk apparently in just one lung with a .44 mag and he ran and ran and ran. I'm sure well over 400 meters and I wasn't very fast to follow. In both cases I used the dog which ran all over the place for a few hundred meters eventually stopping, barking and it's said harvest found but there was no body anywhere. I searched google and one post said that this was a bug, if you are separated by more than the render distance the body will disappear. Another video said this was fixed. Do you know the correct answer. Sorry, it's a bit off topic but I trust your answer. It's also a bit frustrating as I'm try to complete 30 game days at each reserve with only single shot kills, i.e. shots hit = number of harvest. Both times I had to start the game day over from the previous days save losing several hours of play time and several good harvests.
I've heard you say "taking the animal off the map" what does that mean? Are they replaced with better quality animals? Would it mean 1 less animal overall? 😎
No every animal once killed will receive a respawn. It’ll come back either a little bigger or a little smaller but if you keep on shooting them, they will get bigger and you should eventuality spawn a diamond or possibly a rare. 😊😊😊
@@LadyLegendXO Thank you again. I just learned a lot more from your updated beginner's guide, I thought by level 27 I would know most of how to play this game, but it seems there's loads to learn, which is fun 😎
What to do if the tracks just seem to vanish out of nowhere ? I'll get a very wide cone and I run everywhere in that cone and I can't find more bluetracks
Just found your video can you start at level 1 and start tracking showing the map as you go?? And with out the perk? What do you do to reach that lvl?? Its difficult. Have you tried to track a live animal for example to find out its full route in the game so you can always come back to the small spot and just wait for them?
You have to level up to earn the skill and perk points you need to track. You cannot track from level 1. Depends which skills and perks you chose first how long it will take.
@@LadyLegendXO i never seen anyone done it before. Do the animals route stay the same or does it change? And is jt even possible to track them and how long will it take?
now im more confused lol. who would have thought this game would be so stressful? I find it really annoying and broken when it comes to tracking. Im not talking about tracking a living animal. Im talking after you shoot one.
Great video lady this is helpful to me even tho I ok at tracking what happens when they do a circle around you it's when the tracks are going around and then the disappear
I need a little help here. I just got the game and have been playing for a few days. I went into settings to narrow some of the settings I want but I must have turned off the actual visual of animal tracks because now I can't see any. I walk around and a track shows up. And i don't see anything.
if i start following tracks imma be in a 1h+ chase and I wont ever see thw animal im chasing. Also, for some fucking reason moose in my game are immortal..m
Your videos convinced me to buy the game. Thanks! I'm still learning. In RL, I never had to track. I raised on the philosophy one shot one kill but the game makes me run all over the place.
I can't believe I haven't watched this video yet! Great video! I never thought to use my Huntermate when tracking animals! Keep up the awesome work, Lady! Stay amazing! ❤️❤️
Problem is petal that at the moment the tracks are not going in a straight line but makes the animal look like it's dancing which is making tracking impossible.
Based on tracks, when do you walk, run, crouch run, crouch walk, go prone etc? That’s the bit I’m struggling to work out. It’s hard to keep pace with a moving animal without spooking it and making the track even longer
Do you have all points in soft feet? That’s important. I run up to 190 metres. Walk til about 150 then crouch til the animal goes alert then I go prone if I’m trying to get really close. Hope that helps.
I dont see animal track idk why. When i hit animal i see only Blood in grass but i dont see tracks. I think its bug or something.I went through it but I couldn't find the answer to my problem. Btw i play on ps4 ( i try uninstall game and download again and i still dont see tracks)
Great video! Thank you! My question would be will the animal still be available if you decided to sleep to spawn daylight & if the animal can still be tracked after doing so. Thanks much!
Hi. I shot a lioness yesterday in Africa with the 7mm but it didn't go down so i followed it. After a short time the blood stopped but like a idiot I kept running after it. After I while my hunter ended up walking even though I was pushing the button for him to run. I spent hours just doing that I must have been crazy thinking I would catch it. I won't be doing that again. Anyway I proved that the 7mm is not as good as people say and that this game has more bugs than a bed.
Harvesting Coyotes in Cheelah....**shudder** That mission took me so long. I got the first one right away, but the second, I ended up having to do exactly this, tracked 2 for several real-world hours before I finally got them in the clear and could get a shot on one.
If you get a shot and the deer does not die, they can stop bleeding. Sometimes tracks become very hard to find. I use my bloodhound when there's blood. He can't lose the track.
There's also a bug that somehow recurs now and then when patches or new DLC are released, where tracks (and animals) end up disappearing. I think the latest update fixed it again...for now.
Try playing with all highlights turned off, it makes tracking slower but its even more fun and gratifying, you start to do things a bit more like a real shooster :) With highlights you can practically run after the animal, without them you move slowly, meticulously looking for tracks, also you won't move the second you wound the animal so as to not have to track a spooked one multiple times, just letting it bleed out in peace wherever it chooses to lay down. Plus i also started to single out the animals so that i didn't have it run with a big heard.
