After extensive online research and seeing many of ur videos and reviews i finally went ahead and got this viofo a229 plus dual channel with starvis 2 sensors in both and front rear cam and boy they work very well. I was confused between this and 70 mai A810 4k and found tht in A 810 only the front cam is really good but the rear camera footage is just average and bad number plate readability at night. I felt in the place where i drive(Telangana ),there is a high likelyhood that i cud be rear ended and A229 plus was the only choice i found with dual starvis 2 sensors. I agree tht its bit pricey but i thought its a one time good investment on my family's security and went for it by extending my budget. To be honest my peace of mind is so better considering i have a reliable footage especially number plate readability at rear end as well in case of emergency.
Congratulations Arjun on getting one of the finest dashcams in the world. It's totally worth the money you've spent on it and it should last you for a long time. Consider buying a cpl filter as well sometime in the future to better enhance the experience from this dashcam. It's available for both front and rear cameras.
I have skoda kushaq and I have purchased viofo A229 plus 3CH and cpl and RHUNDO voltage controller after watching your several viofo videos. It's a very good dash cam. Very happy with the result.
Brother, your work is stellar. You epitomise the adage- Be the Best in what you do ! You truly are the master at Car Dashcams review, with sleek engrossing presentation. I livw watching all the reviews. Personally, im inclined to buy A 229 tomorrow over A 810 for the two pros: Dual cam Starvis 2 Supercapacitor battery. Simple reasons but potent in the event of a mishap on a hot day. With climate change screwing us all up, i feel battery based dashcams may suffer someday,.with continued heat exposure Correct me if I'm wrong, brother. Keep making great content. You have made a very informative and useful video. Some questions: Does the A229 plus have a supercapicitor or Li ion battery? Can it be hardwired to the car fuse box?
I have 2 questions. 1. Since i have VW taigun do I really need hardwire kit since USB Port receives power from Battery? 2. Since price is a point of view. Can i install 2 cams of a119 for front and rear and get connected to same app
1. Yes the VW Taigun gets continuous power to its usb port. So if you have connected your dashcam and turned off the car, the dashcameras will continue to record. But till when? Since the power is uninterrupted, the dashcam will drain the battery of the car completely and you won't be able to start the car the next morning. Hence when used with a HARDWIRE KIT, it will have inbuilt battery protection feature which turns off the power to the dashcam, once the pre set threshold voltage is reached. So your battery will have enough power to start the next morning. 2. Yes you can use two A119 and get connected in the same app BUT they cannot connect simultaneously. Meaning you will be able to connect and use only one camera at a time within the same app.
Hi, i have two qns as below- 1. Does parking mode work on car battery? Does it work on its own or separate kit needs to be purchased? 2. Could you please provide link to purchase CPL filter for rear camera
1. Yes parking mode works on car battery. It works via a 'hardwire kit' which you need to purchase separately. 2. There is no official CPL filter for rear camera. Hence no direct purchase link is available. For VIOFO cameras, you can connect with VIOFO support number for getting unofficial CPL filter for rear camera.
Hi brother have a small doubt please clear. In 2024 nobody is recommending 70mai rear view dash cam . And i am not able to see it in 70 mai website is there any problem in it. Because i want to buyit.

It terms of pure resolution and clarity, 4K with Starvis 2 is definitely better (A810). In terms of better overall package (Starvis 2 for rear, excellent parking modes, versatile settings in the viofo app etc) A229 Plus is better. It difficult to choose one over the other. So it comes down to your preference among these highlights of each camera.

I searched a lot for the best dash cam which can record crystal clear footage, capture license plates and better night vision and i can say upon seeing reviews by so many UA-camrs with videos they posted. Viofo is best and i ordered A229 pro, can’t wait to try it out. I had Thinkware U3000 costed me $780 and not even worth the price, night vision is trash it’s so bright. Overall it’s just hyped but not worth buying. Can’t wait to try my Viofo A229 Pro.
Great content as always! I settled with DDPAI mini pro and a CPL filter last week - so far impressive quality for the budget price range. Looking forward to more such amazing content ❤
Hi please guide me for a 2 channel dashcam for my sedan car Skoda slavia. Where as I don’t feel to have one which needs to mount rear camera outside of car. Currently I am stuck at viofo a229 plus 2ch, and 70mai A810 (whose rear camera is basic). Please guide me what should I prefer 4k or 2k.
As a overall value for money package, A229 Plus is a good choice. But nothing comes close to what a 4K Starvis2 can do in 70mai A810. So it basically comes down to your preference.
Can the 2CH simultaneously do front 2K 60 (HDR OFF) and rear 2K 30 (HDR ON)? My concern with buying a dash cam is having better framerate over resolution. Therefore, a 2K 60 would be better for me than a 4K 30 front camera.

I was very confused in N4 pro, A229 Plus 3channel and the best Budget 810. 1. N4 pro i left because of its weight.. in 1 review i saw its falling off from the screen. 2. A229 plus - Left that becuase its has only 2k and it was expensive for what it was offering (IMX675 sensor, which is available in 70 mai 510 at just 10k ) and accessories are also less available and seems over priced. 3. 70Mai 810- cons - In bulid batt and only dual channel. Pro- Price, available, and video quality... so brought this. For 3rd channel, i will use rear camera for cabine recording and 1 extra 510 for the rear channel alone. Total setup - cost Rs35443/- + 1tB of Sd cards. The same A229pro 3channel will be 40k + 512gb sd card.
The rear camera of the A810 does not have infrared support. Hence during night, cabin videos will be fully dark. Interesting to see A510 being used as rear camera though.
@traveltechyoutube Yes, you are correct. Without IR cabin cam is waste at night. I searched a lot but couldn't find one with IR. I will try to make a project from that, buy a local IR camera from accessories shop n I'll try to connect it to A810 in the rear cam port.... Doing experiments is always fun. 😃

using A229 Plus and it was recording on 1440P. recent files are recording in 1080p 30fps. May be something with the setting got changed or any firmware update required. i am using it for less than one month.
