I have the 130 lb Adder with the 7 shot mag, green laser and torch, plus a illuminated scope and bipod rest, I converted my bolts to 20 grams.

I was wondering-when you put some kind of sight on the Adder, is it too high for the eye when you shoulder it? In other words, is it hard to aim with a scope being so high above the rail?

Is the adder just the same as the RX but with a magazine? If I have an RX can I mount the magazine onto it?

The R9 cannot accept the magazine mate, not as standard, you need to tomod both I think if you want to do it.

@@WeaponCollector thankyou, yeah upon further inspection of images, the housing that the string pulls back into looks larger than the same part on the adder.

I've picked the classic R9 because less moving parts = less chance of malfunction. I've shot back to back with someone who shot the 1st gen Adder : jams and faillures to feed almost right out of the box with the latter. Also, the buffertube ring of the R9 is a separate part so I've swapped it for one with a sling attachment for higher carry. The Adder's buffertube ring is fixed to frame (I think, or the stock itself) so no customization. Finally, the parallel zero of the R9 is much truer to the place of impact because the optic rails are closer to the bolt. Said rails is also longer compared to the Adders rails, so I've put a flippable magnifier behind my optic and even a spirit level tube to check my horizontal hold. Long story short : classic R9 if you want more reliable hits at longer distances, the newer gen Adders for quick follow up shots (with lighter bolts, mind you) at closer distances. Either one is quicker to reload than the average Xbow.
Last tip : get rid of the tacky plastic lever cover and front grip. They add no control whatsoever and snag on or bump into branches, furniture or gear. The smooth, uncovered lever allows for much quicker transitioning from cocking to aiming. Simply slide your off-hand to and fro, following the lever as a guiderails. It's much faster and also easier to do in the dark. Grip the plastic front of the bow with a horizontal grip, thumb forward, for instinctive point shooting. This way I'm also always on or near the button of my installed light, when in aiming grip.

Imagine with the R9 if you’re shooting close range, the smaller bolts would get damage to the fletching by sinking too deep into target.

i wonder if thr steambow is better

different classes- longer draw length and stronger bows, but also longer lever to ease the cocking. Option to use 15" bolts, usable up to 50m, but heavier and bigger.
Price wise, the adder costs not much more for serious benefits.
Stinger is and stays better for transportability.

Dont show the buggers at UK Gov the difference. They will ban them now 😅. Decent review mate cheers.

I like the cobra rx. You get use of heavier full size bolts and a 130 lb limb. I prefer a magazine on a different platform honestly. It's just a preference on my part I suppose.🤷🏻‍♂️
