I know the sentiment is meant differently, but so universal. The idea of hating your body.....be it age and all the health issues that catch up, cancer .....such a moving statement.
I clicked on this after seeing a video about trans figures who either created or inspired various songs. I heard a small snippet of this song and I felt captured by it immediately. I'm glad I found a video with clips of the real Candy who inspired this song. I didn't realize she was so beautiful and striking. It's like you can't take your eyes off of her.
Oh God, Candy was so gorgeous! Thank you for making this lovely video and honoring Candy for the special lady that she is! As a proud Trans woman this beautiful song is so emotional and heartbreaking for me. The best lines are: "I've come to hate my body and all that it requires in this world" "What do you think I'd see, if I could walk away from me" Those lines get to me every time. Thank you Lou Reed for penning a song that I can so relate to. RIP Candy Superstar!
Preciosa canción🌺. Llegué aquí por la versión de Martin Gore que me encantó. Ahora conozco algo de Candy. Y la letra es encantadora. Gracias x compartir!
I never knew that about Gloria Swanson who was a fan of candy,Candy was the sex symbol of that time and adored ,Candy out did Jane Fonda for a movie, rest in peace Candy you died so young but you are still loved and remembered,God bless you amen,😘💟💏🌞☀🌼🌈🌹💝💖🌸😍😘
A female Paris Hilton,What a beautiful song,The velvet underground were a great band for the time they were together, their music I loved, pity they didn't last for long, but for the time they did the song's and playing was beautiful, rest in peace to all who died from the Velvets even Candy who the song was about, rest in peace to you amen,💜🌸🌹😘✌🐦🌈👍✊☀😘
Candy, so beautifully tragic....even Gloria Swanson saluted her coffin and Catwoman read her eulogy. She was a superstar
Oh, wow! She would have loved that! 😢💖
