Clarinet player Han Kim plays Weber Clarinet Concerto No.2 op.74 1st movement with Suwon philharmonic orchestra conducted by Prof. Dae-jin Kim, for the New year's eve concert, Gyounggi Art-center Concert-hall, Suwon, Korea, on Dec.31th.2010.
He inspires me to give up playing =)
I just love his facial expressions while he's playing his solo soooooooo wonderfullllyyyy
Ahhh goosebumps... The amount i used to practice this.. Seeing him nail it through the difficult parts, remembering the struggle they could become for me, is great
At just 14!!!! :O You are an inspiration to us all!!
hey! I love your videos!
Oh my gosh I wish I could play just like him!!! He is awesome.... I wish my band teacher would teach us how to do that...😢
Tori Mellinger lol all you need is more practice and teach by your self more then the band teacher and honestly if you try more I swear you will get better the high notes are easier than you think they are also if you want to get better I suggest you practice in the biggest part of your house it will help the sound of the clarinet sound better than in a smaller room and the read has to be strong as well as the way you sit and hold it (just my opinion) :)
That's what private instructors are for
he can hold his breath for really long.. im impressed..
Delicate and subtle, sharp and energetic : bravo maestro !
This is the best recording I have heard of this piece. Well done!
I preferred Sharon Kam's version.
Yet another spectacular performance.
Your A Awesome Young Man And Brilliant
Wow that's the work of a professional right there.
He's so good!
Wow! He is very amazing and he inspires me to play even harder music and get better! I hope I can play as well as him in the future.
Im very inspired thank you han kim.
so beautiful! bravo! anyone here in 2017?
Hope I could be as good as him

Good Job And God Bless you Forever
Astonishing ! Flawless technique and brilliant, brilliant interpretation and sound. I know the piece from top to bottom, it's a demanding one.... That's why I admire this young man a lot!!!!!!
This is excellent
Wow! Effortless playing there. The Weber Clarinet Concerto No.2 is a great piece as it shows off the full range of the clarinet and requires great skill from the player. I really enjoy playing it. It's a very good piece to do for chromatic scales!
14? Damn, I'm a year behind! So amazingly good.... I'm very very jealous ;)
You're 17 now. Time flies haha
Tauras Jurgutis Very, lol.
Pyfacefornever happy 18 birthday I won’t forget you I hope you have fun in collage and enjoy your rest of your life ahhh how time flys I remember when you were just 13
20 years old now! Time goes by very quickly
Virtuosité et sensibilité d'interprétation!
You are amazing
Just remember, if you ever think you're good at something, somewhere there's a younger Asian way better at it then you.
Daniel Chang not really racist, more like a compliment to our race XD
dammit! XD
but if you're asian and you're not good at anything it kinda makes you feel bad xD
Have you been watching me somehow...?
Yes!
...wow. I've been struck speechless for the umpteenth time after watching these amazing performances...wow.
Don't worry about being asian (no racism intended in any way), I'm gaping in awe at his age!!! fourteen?!! When did he start playing?!!!!! He's amazing!!!!
I Love Your Music And your performances
Beautiful.....
I'm very impressed :)
핼 뵥해 지ㅣ네요 넘 좋아요
Wonder what kind of reed he uses?
Ultrashock5414 vandorin??
Every reed is the same. Just in length it’s different🙄
It's just Ariana nooo, some reeds are easier to use for beginners, while others are for people with more experience
He sounds great! Awesome performance!
more proof that the clarinet can sound the best and worst of all.
you mean best only right?
My name is Something not when someone sqeaks lol
Bravo!!
bravissimo..........
Fantastic.
You have good quality and I am playing clarinet too. I am living in Latvia, Riga!
GREAT Job!
Astounding...
Nicely done! Wonderful tone and even fingers! You might want to play a bit more legato at 5:30, but otherwise I really enjoyed this performance! Is that a Tosca?
awesome!!!
Nice Han Kim
sooo gooodd
I like it very much. Circular breathing at 7:32 and 7:39.
I can play fast but not as fast as this kid can he is really good and has a real future.
this "kid" has been invited to several national events and performed as a professional soloist around the world even before he started attending college. He got a scholarship into Guildhall and studies with Professor Andrew Webster.
Yes, but remember- Han is a professional player and has been playing for a long time. Don't try too hard to compare yourself to him when he plays these difficult pieces
Super beast!
김한..그는 대체....
What really? Omg I didn't know that, i see it in the description now :O
And for me it's impossible to know the age on someone from korea.
I keep seeing his name all over fucking youtube, so i thought he was professional
That clarinetist shows what us asians have as our potential, you go dude!!
YUS XD
You mean everyone in the human race. Not only Asians.
Emily's Life Whites are jealous now :DD
+emiflower22 Stop trying to be politically correct and let it go, sheesh.
I'm the most superior clarinet player in my band yet that's fucking impossible.
It's not TOO hard, but yes- there is very tricky sections in it
The Woah of Prophecy lmao same I mean I recognize all the notes but playing it that fast may be the problem for me.
lol u is trash jk
Same!!
음 미친듯이 깔끔해 정석 그 자체 보는 느낌...
ㅇㅈ
This is your idea of being a music critic is it? Very refined. By the way, what can you play? Home sweet home in very slow tempo!
Good nice video
Куда продать душу, что бы играть так же ?
Do you play a Buffet Crampon Tosca Clarinet? So I do !
essa cara manda é muito bom
double staccato is techique for those who cant do fast staccato anyway but he play three notes double staccato 1 1/2 note at one staccato
Very nice. But take a look on Martin Schmidt-Hahn clarinet !!
Muito bom Mesmo...
대박!
Que som maraa!
Bruce Lee players clarinet ! :)))))))
Nice. And the 2nd movement is where? Did I miss it somehow?
Found it!
@GnomeGuardian He did actually have a small slip on the run going up, but otherwise this is a great performance.
hay que aseptar que este concierto es muy exsijente pero desde que vi sus conciertos cuando estava pequeño hay la lleva
What mouthpiece do you use?
sorry I am Spanish and I do not speak good English.
I dont know anything about clarinets but did he did that on purpose or a glitch at 6:21? i find it sounds like some kind of ornamental notes? what does a double staccato means here?
where are you clarinetist from
@skarlatospanagiotis what are tree notes??
interpretas muy bien. :-)
OH!!!!i'm using tosca clarinet2017model저 지금 토스카클라리넷2017년모델을쓰고있어요.혹시 몇년형모델쓰고계세요? How many models are you using?
영어 ㅈㄴ 못하네 ㅋ
That is so impressive! I'm twelve and NO WHERE bear as good at playing clarinet as he is
He is good, but he has to control the body movement. What if he plays the "salsa" rhythm?
Juan Hernandez the body movement is supposed to be there, he does it to be elegant
That’s what happens when you feel the music as you express it with your soul and whole body.
If you see Korean letters, just saying they're having a rage fight :3
Need to practise harder... Well I'm having a go at 15 so only a year behind! :)
Pyfacefornever happy birthday I can’t believe your already 21 wtf I remeber when u were just a kid
I have a go at Mozart’s clarinet concerto at 14 lol
How old is he?!
14
he plays 1,5 note at one tongue strike so he plays 3 notes are 2 tongue strike
at the other way you only say tosca clarinet
His tounging skills are not related to his clarinet
Pretty good version... Not even close to good as Martin Frost's version though. Where is this guy from, korea? However they have diffrent vision of how to play clarinet than us scandinavians. I liked the orcherstra the most!
but all that has to with the social recognition of clarinet as a major instrument
I believe that would be called "screwing up".
A little bit out of tune on the high B flat.. But i guess it's fine since it's a really high note anyway
WTF how is it even possible
AT 6:21 HE PLAYS TREE NOTES DOUBLE STACATO
Bruh his fingers slipped... He messed up
Not bad for a kid but still wait till he grows up
U can’t even play I bet. So don’t judge him...and he’s not even a kid😂
It's a bit pecky for my liking, but bravo to this great young player!
I've played the clarinet for years and this is fucking impossible. :')
Bernadette van Nus nothing is impossible for asians
shiba lol
It looks like a Eb clarinet
1:50
I've been playing the clarinet for 4 freaking years and I'm actually okay at it. Although it may seem impossible, if he can do it, then any clarinet player can do it it if they tried.
someone please tell me what edition of concerto this is! I want to play this concerto but I want this exact edition
Near
:O
i culd never memorize all that, not squeak or messup on stage lol but he messed up at 6:20
of course you arent
of course you aren't
I am worthless.
no you wouldn't ornament that, definitely a mistake lol. you can see it in his eyes after
a young asian far better at i than you. Although I m europaen, I share this opinion. But I admire them. They are f...cking better than we. Maybe some larger spaces to exercise and be
wolas jean wanna try that again after a year bud?
lmao if you knew the piece you would know those are all written as separate staccato notes. nice try though.
I guess he just plays not clean stacato.
and let me add to adress of my foes who think m a racist I do think that the asians have a finer hear than we bumbling occidentals
