A Gt-1 é ótima! :)
Hi! Thanks! :) There is not much difference between using it directly on the PC or using it directly on the mixer and PA system in live shows. I use the same presets. The GT-1 is great and has almost everything we guitarists need but belongs to an earlier generation of technology. So if you want to use Impulse Response you will have to add an external IR loader pedal. It has no send/return connection to insert external pedals in the middle of the effects chain. We found these two items in the Nux MG30 as it belongs to the newest generation of multi-effects. In addition to the NMP2 footswitch that comes with the MG30 in the box. In the Boss world, it would be the Gt1000core/Gx100/Gt1000 that bring these features.
Hats off to you for being able to do this. Integrating external effects pedals into a multi-effects device that only has L and R mono outputs doesn't work for me. The ME25 also only has L and R mono outputs. Do you just use very simple patch cables for effects pedals?
Hi, the purpose of the video was to simply replace the old native cabs of the GT-1 with quality IRs using the Cab Box at the end of the chain. The Cab Box has a balanced XLR output that goes to the mixer and PA system, and also a neutral output (without IR) that can be plugged directly into the amp input. In addition, I wanted to experiment with the sound of the OCD together with the GT-1. This way, the GT-1's wah was after the OD, so I had to add the Vox before the OCD. :) For stereo use, I have this video ua-cam.com/video/B5RGW0lAl10/v-deo.html where I use an IR loader with stereo inputs and outputs. This allows us to send the L and R outputs of the GT-1 directly to the two inputs of the IR loader, and then send the stereo outputs to the mixer/PA.
Hello! Yes, the GT-1 already has the CTRL1 footswitch built into it, so we can use an external footswitch like the NMP2 from Nux as CTRL2 and CTRL3 for turning effects on and off. Alternatively, we can use the "assigns" function where we can assign multiple functions to each of the CTRLs with just a single click. Boss has footswitches like these, such as the FS-6, but I prefer the Nux due to its compact size, similar to a mini pedal. This footswitch comes with the Nux MG30 but works with various equipment from other companies, including delay pedals with features like Tap Tempo and other functions. I have other videos using it with the GT-1: ua-cam.com/video/B5RGW0lAl10/v-deo.html / ua-cam.com/video/ccOhJbqIy3c/v-deo.html Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thanks!
@@DirectRecordingGuitar Awesome! Thanks for the prompt reply! This is exactly the alternative I was looking for, Im hoping to use it to switch between patches. Thank you!
With Boss FS5/6 you can switch individual fx of the GT-1 latched/unlatched. Great sounding multi-fx pedal. Nice pedalboard! Only two pedals I crave for, BD-2 and EHX Mod Rex (or Boss MD-200).
Man, I've been using Boss since the ME8 days and I never had one of the Boss footswitches, can you believe it? haha I never felt the need to buy one of these footswitches to use in the GT-8, GT-10 and GT-100 era. :) Then the NMP-2 came with the MG-30 and I can't stop using it. haha Thanks!
@@DirectRecordingGuitar Added the FS-6 (can also be used as sustain or damping pedal on synth (at the same time, A goes to GT-1 CTRL2 & B goes to sustain/damp synthesizer). Didn't realize the NUX is your switch pedal.
Hello Gary! Yes! If there was an S/R connection on the GT-1, as we have on the MG30 for example, I could connect the OCD (or any other pedal that happens to be among my favourites) and place it in the middle of the effects chain. This would eliminate the use of the external wah as now the OCD would be after the GT-1 Wah and not before it. Since the Gt-1 belongs to an older generation of multiFX, it doesn't have Impulse Response, so I like to add a stereo IR loader pedal after the GT-1.
Obrigado! :)
