  • We're staying at a Camping Car Park at Remoulins in the south of France. A motorhome squeezes in beside us but we don't let that get to us and instead set out to explore the old town and the historic bridges, but then we come to one that may be a bit much for Tricia to get to the top.

    If I knew someone was going to park so close, I might have staked out my plot by putting out table and chairs. Great video thank you for sharing.

    Regarding the Camping Carpark, after the massive surge in Motorhome and Campervan use in France and Spain this last couple of years I can see pitch spaces made a little less generous in size in some of the carparks, it's the only way that the increased demand be catered for.

    • @MikeandTriciaOotnAboot
      @MikeandTriciaOotnAboot  3 місяці тому

      Yes I agree, some of the older ones have individual bays, but the newer ones are more like an open car park and could more easily be changed.

    Ooooh! That is a spectacular viaduct. The Romans were amazing engineers and living in a roman occupied area there is so much evidence of this here in N Yorks. Thank you for taking us along. Regarding the camping car park, unfortunately there are always those who will ignore the rules. Hey ho ! Looking forward to your next installment. Happy travels 😊

    Another lovely video. Beautiful camera work and excellent commentary. What a sight those bridges were. The aquaduct was fabulous. I hope the van shake down is going OK and that you have not found any problems that cannot be fixed.

    That viaduct is an amazing piece of engineering. Was over in France with my girlfriend touring on the motorbike. Although we were there to tour the D Day beaches and war memorials. Would love to head back just to see more of the cultural side of it. Only slightly disappointed that you didn't woo Tricia with your Scottish French accent, 😀😀 👍👍

      Hi Bobby, it has been fabulous not using the toll roads and going through the French villages. The viaduct was amazing. Saving the Scottish French accent for when the camera stops rolling.😉

    Hi Tricia, Mike and the dug, fantastic viaduct, as for the close parked van I would have been the same. No point getting annoyed if you're not there for ages. I did the same on my way home pulling my caravan. It was a soaking wet site in the lake District and I struggled to get in the site. The place was a bog so I went between two vans. I went and apologised to my neighbours and said I would be going in the morning.

    Fantastic views, thought outside furniture isn't allowed on parking aires, presuming it's ok in your van space, a shame someone chose to double park, but you handled it well, then moved on at leisure 😀 The Pont du Gard is amazing architecture and engineering, thanks for sharing 😀🚐❤️

    • @vatsmith8759
      @vatsmith8759 3 місяці тому

      At ordinary municipal aires furniture isn't (usually) allowed but at commercial aires like Camping-Car Parks you are effectively at a campsite where you can spread out over your marked pitch.

      @MikeandTriciaOotnAboot  3 місяці тому

      Thanks Janet, glad you liked the video. Agree with the other comment, the camping car parks are charged for and you can put furniture out in your own space. Aires are free and you can't put anything out.

    Great video guys, love all the info about the area. Stunning architecture. Also love the patients about the late entry park up! Personally for me the tyres would have been down when I left 😂 just like the old days going to the football before seated stadium, you get a great spot then just before kick off someone stands right in front of you!!! Looking forward to the next one. A say hi.

    Glad your continuing to enjoy your adventures. The 'Bridge To Far' analogy made me chuckle, just wrong Country! 'Utrinque Paratus' as they would have said on the actual bridge! Hope the Swift Carrera is living up to both of your expectations. Roman engineering is always a marvel, just a shame it is in France!

    Living in France I've realised us Brits are quite reserved in the main. If I'd have had someone push into the bay next to me, I would've had a good chunter to myself and not got involved. Hate confrontation/unpleasantness anyway.
    But... in France, if a French person had been wronged in the same way then they'd be pretty direct and give you a piece of their mind. Perhaps I'm living in the wrong country...? Luckily for me, my wife is French. 😂
