I so loved this video... I just picked up a 2023 Happy Planner in Nightmare before Christmas and I was trying to figure out how to include some of the stuff I love aboout BUJO in the happy planner. I bought the planner because I was burned out on the Bujo set up like you said at the beginning of the video. I just wanted to leave you a Thank You for posting this video I will be checking out some more of your videos.
I've been bullet journaling for about six months now and have come up against the same problems as you. I'm so glad I came across this video because I've been thinking about doing this for awhile and now I'm even more sure it's the route I want to go! Thank you!

I'm a happy planner user but while I do like aesthetics, I also value function, and it felt like so many happy planner videos I was finding were all about "how-many-stickers-can-i-cram-on-this-spread" and if that's what brings them joy that's great. But when I'm trying to organize my life, that level of visual clutter does not bring me joy. So I very very much appreciate your hybrid approach. I don't have the interest or patience to make my own weekly or monthly layouts on a regular basis.
Thanks for the video. I got happy planner because the pages pull out. So basically because it gives me a little more freedom then a regular calendar/planner. My happy planner is a catch-all book. I saw the happy planner and bullet journaling at the same time and decided to combine them.
I really like this video!! You give an alternative to the regular bullet journal. This kind of video is needed as well. There are times like you said "When life happens" and you need a way that's simple to keep up with everything. Too a lot of us art not artistic enough to do a regular bullet journal. I use stickers, ephemera cut outs, etc... anyway, plus I love the Happy Planner line. So just grab a planner or one of the notebooks and have fun bullet journaling. There is always a sale and coupon to use, sometimes clearances on products from the Happy Planner line as well. Again, thanks for the alternative idea!!
Thank you, Lacresha! You make some excellent points in your comment and I agree. I adore having happy planner/ bullet journal friends out there and I don’t want people to not have a system they love just because they’re “not artistic enough”.
I have to say that I find it actually really funny how we can like and dislike same things. Personally I hate lined paper. I have some of it that has come with the happy planner stuff that I have wanted from other reasons and I have really hard time to find ways to use it because I just don't like it at all. But then I love the dot grid paper. Currently that is the one that I try to find for all my notebooks too, not just for my planner lol. But then the world would be really boring place if we all would like from same things. :)
I just started 2020 with a hybrid. I added expansion rings and a happy notes to combine mine and i love it. You had awesome ideas, thanks for sharing !!!
I love the bujo ideas and all ... but I have 5 kids, I'm a firefighter, my fiance is a firefighter, plus we both work and I've got other things too like therapy homework and trainings and all that... bujo is just too much work!!! I was sad at first ... but this video gave me hope!!!

I for sure thought I I commented on this video before interesting. I really liked the flip through. I am a writer as well and I havent seen enough writers use this system yet. I am in a bullet journal for writing but I'm thinking of switching to hp. I do everything else with the hp system so writing is next. This video is so great. Thanks for sharing!

hi Talia another idea for a calendar is buy a dollar tree calendar and just rip out and punch each month as you need . again just another idea for you. ?
Great question! I actually bought a slightly larger purse and it fits perfectly! I didn’t overstuff it either so the size and weight differences don’t bother me. They do make smaller happy planners but I really wanted the big one.

No worries. I am doing the same thing. I love my collections and trackers. But I love the functionality of the HP. Gotta mix them.

All of my letter size discbound tend to stay at home because I haven't found a bigger purse that I wanted to buy yet.
