A great idea! You don't need a knife to separate the hot glue. Just a few drops of alcohol are enough to separate it with your fingers. Sometimes it leaves it self. I use this technique for creating molds for plastic repair. You can see it in my movies.

You could probably coat the plexiglass with wax or spray it with silicone mold release to make it easier to get apart at the end. Pam cooking spray might even work.
This is really nice!! The silhouette dark look of the wood in the resin gave it an ocean depth feel. If you can find miniature fish like whales or sharks, maybe a boat above, that would look amazing. Great job!!

Oh WOW, such a cool idea!! Love it!! A LOT of sanding, I've worked with resin many times and if the surface gets scratched, I just mix a little resin and lightly coat it seals up all the white scratches.
Well crikey, it just never occurred to me that hot glue could be used to shape resin! Of course! I learned something extremely valuable today! Gosh you worked so hard on the sanding, I don't think I have that much patience. Beautiful!

Do you have any recommendations for a person that's interested in wood turning? Like what equipment you would need for a beginner just starting off. I do seashells necklaces bracelets stuff like that but I'm very interested in making my own bowls pots little trinkets causes things like that with woodturning I've always been interested in it, but never really knew where to start. If you have any recommendations on a starter kit so to speak for a beginner it would be much appreciated! 🙏 P.s a beginner with a budget 😅
It's nice that you want to start. You need a jewelry scale, mixing cups, molds made of silicone or 1mm anti-frame Plexiglas. Sanding abrasive papers. I use car polishing paste for final polishing. Many things you need to see in the movies

Looks really dangerous ;) - But hey ... i think, my kind to work with this stuff looks dangerous too for others hrhrhr ... love this little piece of art. Looks really nice.

It was not easy. But I pulled out the plastic. I try to be careful not to overload. Thank you
Isopropyl alcohol helps to remove the hot glue and detach the acrylic from the resin

Ever tried putting a release agent on the plastic so it comes off easy
I never used it. Resin does not stick to plexiglass. Only the adhesive is hard to tear
