- Working from home and working remotely especially with a job you are passionate about is a win-win! If you are thinking about teaching with a MSW or LMSW, working as an adjunct professor is a great option. Teaching online, also adds an extra flexibility that allows this career or job to be ideal. I recently got the opportunity to work as an adjunct instructor for two colleges. I taught two classes: Social Welfare Policy & Field Education in Community Organizing. It took a while for me to be able to get an adjunct instructor position so I wanted to shed some light on my experience on applying, interviewing and teaching etc. Hope this was helpful and let me know if you have any questions in the comment box below!

Thank you Yvette for this video. I am in the process of getting a part time teaching position at a University to teach Field. This video was very helpful as you highlighted how to organize yourself and planning ahead.
Congratulations!!
Thanks for your time. This was very helpful. The last adjunct position i went for had me fo a demo lesson in person. The students were the staff...talk about pressure!
Wow, I had to do that before for an alternative high school. Luckily, the students were nice but looking back the pay was so low for all that they required during the interview process smh! Glad this was helpful.
Thank you. Your comments were very inspirational.
Thanks so much Yvette !

Should I use my regular resume or should I have a resume designated specifically for teaching purposes? I have no teaching experience.
You should have a separate one for teaching. It can have little tweaks highlighting skills that instructors need like public speaking, training others, creating presentations, etc. I will make a video on that soon.
@@LifeCoachYvette Thank you!! Yes please :)
I have a question. Did you design your own assignments or were assignments mostly pre planned. Including a syllabus.
Great question! For these two courses I followed the syllabus the schools provided and had to come up with a few assignments. The course I teach now was setup for me and completely online (asynchronous)
This is a good video but volume is low
Do you recommend starting at the community college level?
It really just depends on what’s available. I thought that’s where I would start but landed both at senior colleges. I would recommend reaching out to all and seeing what sticks
