Back in the day people with no scruples would make 50p moulds in putty, fill them with water, freeze them and put them in the coin gas meters . Coin draws were always rusty. By the way scruples are a token for weighing wheat etc.

£1.80 for washing machine etc. i dont even use 1.50p a day electric in my 2 bedroom house. it costs me about 60p for a full wash my washing machine lol

Water also cost money, and somebody had to spend £300-600 for the washing machines in the first place.
