- My YZ 125 is problem filled. This was a two month project that centered around one bolt. One freaking bolt...

Lol😂! Very entertaining! I stay with Yamaha dirt bikes always YZ250!!!
Damn this felt way high quality for only having such little views! I’m currently in the process of rebuilding my own 84’ Honda CM450E so I know the struggles of being stuck on a problem for a month and finally figuring the solution out
gotta throw it out here... this channel (I reallly mean you) has SO MUCH potentiel it's crazy. Dude you are VERY charismatic, your production and editing skills are off the charts. GEeEEee.
Lots of great products to do that job, Helicoil and EZ-LOCK are 2 of them. Another way to get that bolt out is to weld a nut to it. So many videos on UA-cam showing this process. Good job sticking with the problem.
Feel you man, I’ve got a mid 2000s 4 stroke and it’s nothing but FCR carb issues all day everyday.
My dude! That is my story with all DIRTBIKES
Yep a Heli-coil really gets the job done ! Red lock tight was the way to go !
i usually don't comment on videos, you deserve success in your youtube. cool narration and demonstration! keep it up dude!
🙌
Patience and persistence brother well done nothing better than over coming a pain in the ass
This channel could BLOW UP!!! Keep it up
never been so emotionally wrecked by a screw story. ❤
haha neither have I until this happened
Really like the way you shot this video! Glad you got the bike sorted out now as well 🤙
Haha! This takes me back to last summer where I was changing the piston and had the same problem. All of a sudden no machine shop wants to help, trying to put you off with high prices or saying if it doesn't work we will still charge you etc! I feel your pain! Great video man! Hope you now have some fun riding the smoker 🤟🏻🙌🏻
The most stressful part of the vid for me was seeing the motor lowered into the footwell over that mint cream suede.
This was dope. Continue with this content
It always bugs me on top end videos those studs are generally always corroded, I assume from coolant contact or just heat? But nobody ever addresses this, they just put cylinder back on. When i do top ends I'll at least sand off the rust and apply grease or anti seize to the studs. Also at the end I would have just wrench tightened, they don't need that much torque.
Usually the built up heat will evaporate the protective coating on the stud thus causing corrosion and broken studs. Antisieze or a heat resistant grease is the only answer too the solution and any future problems.
keep making videos like these.. their really nice.
No cylinder gasket?!?
Crazy how the “smallest” biggest thing can give you so much pleasure 💪
Bud was soo close too buying new engine cases 😂
Huh? You mean cylinder.....
I have definitely been where you are, do give up bro!
YOU CAN ALWAYS CONVERT INTO ELECTRIC.
ELECTRO&CO SELL KITS FOR THAT SIZE BIKE.QS 138 ...WITH CONTROLLER, WIRING AND THROTTLE.{ I am not sponsored by them]
YES IT WILL COST YOU MORE BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE THE HASSLE THAT A PETROL BIKE GIVES..
JUST MY OPINION.
. GAVE U A THUMBS UP !
YOU HAVE DETERMINATION.
Great video bud It was rewarding to hear the "click"
My 05 has been one problem after another. Ive invested too much time n money to sell it now.
I feel that. I know how everything works on this thing now
I have yz125 2003 an its been nothing but problems but I fix all of them now 5 thousand later bike perfect other than changing pistons every 20 hours but I love my old yz125 2003 It's been awesome bike so much fun I will never ever sell it im keep putting money into it I all most replace everything plus it was missing alot of stuff u know what I got it off Facebook so I feel ur pain but u fix it makes me happy
awesome video dude
I feel like every dirtbike rider has had that crappy 125 two stroke that was cursed. I had a 2002 yz125 that always had some problem going on with it no matter how much time I spent working on it and throwing money at it.
Bro, you needed to helicoil (insert) the thread.
tbh I had no idea what you were talking about when you posted about this on your IG story. After watching this vid, I completely understand. Your explanations and storytelling are great man! I can see format this being enjoyable for all audiences.
That was a weird problem I had with this video. How much detail do I go into and how do I explain it so someone understands it and can see what I'm talking about. So that's good to hear it worked out haha Thanks Allan! New York soon?
@@MasonGodwin1 👀
You need a Time-Sert kit! Expensive but they work! Way better than heal-a-coil. But sometimes you just work with what ya have!
Awesome video!!
that fucking bolt man
just broke a bolt in my water pump housing on my crf 450 such a pain
good luck my friend. I hope you can get it out easily!
pretty good, this style would be great for longer videos
It’s a dirtbike. A simple mechanical machine. Nothing difficult about it
You say that now go work a new ktm
@@yingyang203 that’s why I bought a 2024 Beta 2 stroke and still run yz250’s
Why wouldn’t you just buy a time sert for cylinder head repair?
Great video please do more!
Not even gonna lie, that might be my old bike. I feel your pain LOL 😂
You're lying haha you sell it some guy in Virginia?
Entertaining
🤣🤣🤣….great Video Bro !…I’m Sorry for Laughing but You are Funny,WhenEver you Buy a Used Bike,Yer Usually Buying Someone’s Problem,…We Will Help You with this Build,or Any Build, just Ask ! 🤘
I'm currently dealing with the same exact dreadful nightmare with my kickstarter shaft. I'll tell you what...there's nothing worse than it, i'd rather replace a crank bearing honestly
I bet you're really jealous of people with electric starts now haha that sucks though. Is it the exterior bolt that holds the kickstarter to the shaft?
Yup, exactly! It's a 2013 so you're darn right i'm jealous of all my friends with fancy 300 2 strokes haha. @@MasonGodwin1
You bet I'm jealous of the electric start. All my friends have fancy 300's while I'm on my old 2013 KX450. To answer your question though, yeah it's the bolt that holds the kickstarter onto the shaft. Two broken ez out bits & a whole bunch of welding & it's still not out haha@@MasonGodwin1
Seen a couple of left side cases for 125$ us on ebay
This is me with my 2001 Rm 250 and now again 2004 Crf 450 😅😂
This video nice ash for 200 views bro
One day we will get there. Thank you!
Just curious, When you broke the stud initially, do you think you had over-tightened it, or was the stud weak or something else? What was the final torque spec you needed to hit for that nut?
The stud was actually rusted and partially broken already. For ease of the video, I just said I overtightened it. The nut had a torque spec of 30n/m
@@MasonGodwin1 I see. Had you known in advance that the stud was compromised to the point it would snap during assembly, what would you have done to get the weak stud out beforehand?
@@GNX157 no, I had no idea it was rusted like that. It wasn't until it broke that I could see the rust through the bolt. It was only holding on by a small sliver.
@@MasonGodwin1 Please reread above, I’m asking what you would have done if you know in advance that it would break upon assembly.
machines don't have problems, people do !
Looks like you picked up an an abused or neglected example. Yamahas are good bikes. Before I saw the remainder of the stud part, I thought Timesert or equivalent would have been a good choice. Glad you got it sorted.
That was a good bed time story 😅
Bro you should have just use the Healy coil to repair the threads. I’ve been stronger than factory and cheep.
JB weld sucks. You drill it out and put a helicoil or insert, I hope? I have put cylinders on my bike 50 to 100 times over my life. I have never used a torque wrench. The one nut is in the power area and you can't use a torque wrench without a special adapter.
These nuts do not need to be very tight to begin with. You are only sealing bottom pressures.
Well, thank goodness this worked.
I will say it is very hard to center drill a bolt in aluminum. They do have centering bits, but in this case the piece should of been centered in a mill or a donar sleeve used to drill with so it hits absolute center. If there was any bolt sticking out, a nut could of been welded to it.
Any decent machine shop would know this stuff. They must not of wanted to be bothered
Extractors always break
Did you have a boot on to start a 125?
yeah
sick video,
ive got an 05
Jesus Christ you made that hard for yourself I’d love to see you with a 4-stroke engine
Honey wake up, mason just posted !
you got a girl? when did this happen??
How much you want I'll buy it lol
I’m here at 427 Subs, remember me
Sorry but your giving up and going cheap really made that shit worse.
jb weld will break down and eat alloy .
Buy a cylinder. Lol
This is a baby problem in the mx world
resleeve the threads
Your a bad mechanic🤣🤣🤣
maybe... but a really great video and content maker.
