LYRICS:
There's a church in the valley by the wildwood
No lovelier place in the dale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale
(Oh, come, come, come, come)
Come to the church by the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the dale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the dale
How sweet on a clear Sabbath morning
To listen to the clear ringing bells
Its tones so sweetly are calling
Oh come to the church in the vale
There, close by the church in the valley
Lies one that I loved so well
She sleeps, sweetly sleeps, 'neath the willow
Disturb not her rest in the vale
There, close by the side of that loved one
'Neath the tree where the wild flowers bloom
When farewell hymns shall be chanted
I shall rest by her side in the tomb

All Glory to Jesus who loves us dearly and gave His life so we can have eternal life❤❤❤
I am convinced that this song is needed to bring America back to her senses. I am a 76 year old black American woman and we learned this song in early elementary school. White children learned it in their schools, as well. It is the one thing we had in common, and had we more leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King and President John F. Kennedy, we would have overcome racism in this country. Unfortunately, the Communist Party had the hidden agenda of establishing INTERCOM (international communism), so movements were started non stop to de-Christianize, de-humanize, and de-moralize America. Then Hollywood, television, politicians, civil rights workers, and the media, happened, all working together. They can take a bow for causing America's woes. TRUE REPENTANCE and the return to the WORSHIP OF THE PRINCE OF PEACE, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF, will make America great again.
You're right on sister totally right on. Amen and amen!
There is still the old America ❤
The Best Thing That Could Had Happened Upon Me , Is To Know Jesus Christ.
Happy sabbath to all of us 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wow! How l wish that today's church would go back to these old times classic gospel hits.
They define what we call. Old is gold. Full of devotion. May God be glorified through them
Amen!
I heard this song when i was a child around nine years old.only now I heard it again
.I'm now 65.thanks to you for letting me hear this song again.More blessings to you all...
The law is important, but not as someones think, the law does not save
Romans 3:20
since by the works of the law no human being will be justified before Him; because through the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:28
We conclude, then, that man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
Galatians 3:2
This I only want to know from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith?
Isaiah 64:6
Although all of us are like dirt, and all our righteousnesses like filthy rags; and we all fell like a leaf, and our iniquities carried us away like the wind.
Titus 3:5
he saved us, not by works of justice that we had done, but by his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
So what is the law for? To make us aware of our sin. And what are the works for? To prove that our Faith is true and because it is the Will of the LORD
James 2:18
But someone will say: You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to do.
So those who believe that works and law have weight in Salvation are guilty of damnation unless they see the Light of the Grace of Christ; as for Shabbat
Romans 14:6
He who heeds the day, he heeds to the LORD; and he who ignores the day, to the LORD he does not. He who eats, for the LORD he eats, because he gives thanks to God; and he who does not eat, for the LORD he does not eat, and he gives thanks to God.
So they have no right to condemn those of us who do not practice that, and as for food
Mark 7:19
because he does not go into his heart, but into his belly, and comes out into the latrine? This he said, making all food clean.
1 Timothy 4
But the Spirit clearly says that in the last times some will apostatize from the faith, listening to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons; 2 for the hypocrisy of liars who, having their consciences seared, 3 will forbid marriage, and will order abstinence from foods that God created so that believers and those who have known the truth may partake of them with thanksgiving.
Sweet!
Why did i remember every part 😳 was waiting for that bell 🛎️🙌🏾🔥 glory to God for clear remembrance 50yrs later
I have pure nostalgia for this song. Ever since i can remember I've listened to this with my grandma. We even have memorized the number on the disc that this song is on.
May you have a blessed day :)
Beautiful singing and such a beautiful song. Hello from Tennessee.
This was my grandfather's favorite song to sing in church. Every time I hear this song, I get choked up and emotional because my grandfather comes to my mind. I love this song so much.
Totally understandable. I never got involved in a really small church except here in Ohio; I am from here, but I've lived all over the country, and I would rather be in a little place like what this song is based on, because I think it reminds me of my folks who are no longer with us.
This is a cool song, because it’s about the church in my small town of Nashua Iowa, If your curious look up The little brown church history

What an inspiration to all. To be able to just switch Gaither on is a daily pleasure.
Thank you so much, I love this song! I think of the time when on the Andy Griffith show when they sang it when that travelers car broke down and they sang it on the porch, this song does bring peace to heart and soul,so once again thank you!!! Please pray for me for I need a miracle 🙏🏼✝️🙏🏼☘️🇮🇪🇺🇸☘️
Dear Sir, your miracle is just one prayer away. The Lord wants to be your very best friend. He will cleanse you and forgive you of all your sins, if you simply call out to him, believing he is listening and if you are sincere and truly sorry, that's all you need to do. He knows each heart! He will come to fellowship with you in Spirit for the rest of your life and for all eternity to follow, in your new home someday, in the new Heavens & Earth that He is preparing.
He doesn't answer all our prayers the way we want but that one he always answers - for the sincere heart!
And it's THE BEST miracle you could ever ask for! Jesus came to die for us and pay the payment for our sins on the cross of Calvary, 2,000+ years ago
He came to born to die, so we could be born again through His spirit, unto fellowship with Him & fellowship to Him.
When I miss my mom I always tune in to Gaither Home coming/ Vocal Band, it Reminds me about her. Miss you Mom😢

Praise the Lord!
We used to sing that little song back in the 1970s after I got saved. I was a member of the church of Christ and so we did it A Capella. I learned the base part and that's the part I sang to sing along with this video. So nice 🙂
I really love this song I am 45 yrs from Kiribati in the Pacific islands
my parents loved this song and the Gaithers. They are now both with the Lord. This brings back such fond memories
Wonderful song and maybe the best church . My greetings from Maryland.
Bill & Gloria Gaither - The Church in the Wildwood is so beautiful and so gracious. This is a song that my father sang well and liked. I heard you very well. I only take one piece of music, thank you.
My 90-year old mother sang this song as a child.
I listen to these from the UK, I love that old time anointed gospel music.
In Brazil, this hynm is called "Come To The Assembly of God".
I'm so thankful to Bill and Gloria Gaither for All the Great Singing and Gospel Songs they have brought us through the years! May God continue to Bless Them and Let His Light Shine Down Upon Them!

Give me that old time religion, it's good enough for me. This is one of those melodies I always play and listen to to over and over again when I need a comforter. It brings back old memories that I adore very much. God is good all the time. Thank you guys.
Brilliant Mbumwae me too give me these songs everyday 🙏🏽 xxx
trading bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is understanding the trends and working closely and where there is a potential drop as experienced lately, it should be seen as a potential to buy. The current correction, in reality, is long overdue and should be seen as a thing of joy as the dump is very temporal and also provides a unique time for you to grow your portfolio. I remember how last year at the peak of the bearish market when people were losing hope, a colleague of mine was steadily cashing out and eventually introduced me to an expert trader called Korie Karen whose system is so reliable and simple, 2 weeks after I got in touch with him i saw my bitcoin portfolio grow by over 450% when others were selling their stash out of fear. Now the same thing is happening and I am unfazed because I still trade using Korie Karen signals which have been confirmed to be among one of the most accurate in the bitcoin community today. It’s time to be smart and take advantage of a seemingly bad situation. stop trading on your own and get professional guidance. you can reach Mr Patrick on Whatsapp@+14692964476 for his expert guidance in trading profitably. Cheers.
Can someone put the words on comments?

아름다운 멜로디가 하루종일 마음속에 맴돌아요. 어릴적 내가 다니던 시골교회가 행복했던 때와 함께 생각납니다.너무좋아요
One of my Grandmother's favorite songs. I would like to learn to play it on the piano in her honor.
I love it
I love this song, first time I ever heard it was on the Andy Griffith show a long time ago and I still today can’t get enough of it, thanks everyone for singing it so beautiful ☘️👍🇨🇮✝️
There's nothing better than Jesus
I love this Hymn. It reminds me of my Grandma - who would take me to church with her. Brings back sweet memories of her.
Such a beautiful hymn, used to sing this with my late grandmother miss her so dearly 😢😢
What a challenge to see the old singing, compared to young youths wasting their voices singing about earthly things. Forget to praise the one who gives his one n only son for us. The creator of all things.
I don’t think they are wasting anything. They just have a new way to praise our Lord and Savior. New worship songs don’t beat these old hymns but they still can be used to praise the Lord.
Everytime I hear this hymn, I have two churches in particular that flash before my mind's eye. The first one is an old Holiness Church in Central Ohio (House of Prayer) and the other is a Pilgrim Holiness Church in Leesburg where a dear friend of mine pastored for years. I miss these two churches dearly.
There is another church in Noblesville Indianna that has grown on me and is of the same background of the two I mentioned. This is where the old hymns and preaching was done with a Holy Fire. There is a difference, believe you me.
I love Gaither music and I love the old hymns.
Grew up in Iowa, belonged to a small country church and loved singing this song-even before I knew the church was in Iowa! ❤
So good to see George Younce in this video. He is now one of the leading basses in glory.
if they sing like this in this world, how will they sing in the Heaven?
I am playing my drum while listening !!!!
To God be the glory!!
What tests God always has for us. The most important thing is to be in prayer and talking with the Master everyday, every minute and every hour. I’m under His banner!!
best music ever
Love this song. Was my Dad’s favorite.
I WOULD WATCH AND LISTEN TO THE VIDEO IN ITS ENTIRETY WHEN IT WAS ON UA-cam ABOUT 3-4 YEARS AGO.
IT HELPED TO TAKE MY DEPRESSION TO THE BACKBURNER.
So many of the singers & friends are in Heaven now!! ✝️❤️❤️
Beautiful!!
Oh God!
How much i miss those old days, i was just a little boy, my uncle used to play this song repeatedly.
But now I'm close to 26, no future, no hope, so far from GOD. I want my life back.. 😢
I can't get enough of George Younce in this version. An enthusiastic performance.
Oh my God, who never sang it when youth on sunday morning... All the glory to the Lord. Lovely video, God bless all of you!!!
My old country church sang this song this morning at its 175th anniversary celebration. I'll take this music over the contemporary christian music any day...
This song had me tearing up! My late father used to play it every Sunday morning.
I love these songs, I don't know why when I listen to these songs from these links, it gives a great energy and inner peace. The interpretation of the staff is fantastic.
This was my granny’s (aka my best friends) favorite song. Every time they sang it at her church she’d say, “I want that played at my funeral”. So when she passed away 4 years ago, we sang that at her funeral. Not your typical funeral song, but she wasn’t your typical lady! And plus every one was smiling once they finished singing; so wasn’t a so sad!
Thanks for your love and support
Love this old melodious song...remember my early years in my village church Vatumanivo South Guadalcanal Solomon islands
Esse é um dos hinos da harpa cristã mais cantando aqui no Brasil! Vem a assembléia de Deus!❤️🇧🇷🙌
I heard my church choir sing this once about 15 years ago. I don't know why but I always remember this song. I don't know why, don't have any justification for it but i love this hymn. It's beautiful. It moves me to want to do better.
Jesus already lived a perfect life for us, since he knew we couldn't do it. He will give you grace & strength to do your best for him & for his glory, if you sincerely call out to him to forgive you, cleanse you & give you his spirit- The Holy Spirit.
Romans 3:23 All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he sent his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I can still hear my mama sing this when I was very young. I miss her so especially since I’m getting on up in years.
I would give up all my possessions and wealth just to be in the same room as the gaither
Well, if you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior then we will all be together in heaven someday with all the homecoming group. Singing to worship God.
I libe only 45 minutes from the ORIGINAL "little Brown Church". It's in a tiny town in Minnesota. Visiting it waa one of the great highlights of my life
Truth be known, the song waa written beforvthe Church was built. I instill an active church and well known for performing 40+ weddings a year.
I attended one till I was four in Etna Green Indiana, Evangelical United Brethren 🎶☝️🙏🏻🙌✝️❤️
Gaither vocal songs keep lifting my spirit 🙏🏻

@Gold Pill Bill The song was composed in 1857 by a music teacher traveling on a stagecoach to meet his fiance that stopped in this town where he had time to wander through the woodlands imagining a church there & when he & his wife traveled through there a few years later they were building a church at that very spot.
The 4 people standing in the aisle are simply dressed to emulate that particular time period, they aren't trying to trick you into thinking anything. I pray your heart softens so that you can feel the love & joy this sweet song brings to most people, God bless :)
@Gold Pill Bill The video is perfect. Awesome. I think you just have personal issues. please let us enjoy this beautiful music!

This song reminds me of my late Father, Sakini Rauludugua. A musician and This was one of his favorite songs and he would play the keyboard and sing. Rest in God's love Dad. Forever cherishes and loved.
