I think I say it every day to the dog, asking her to scoot over in the bed because she's hogging the bed.
This is so common for those of us in the south in America I had no idea some people don’t say it! Lol
@@abbycrossing13 We use it here in the U.K. I just haven’t said it myself in a while and it made me feel disappointed in myself. We must keep the scooting dream alive!!

I was wondering how to do this for so long. But no other sim designer was transparent AT ALL! I had no idea that you were supposed to put a basement thingy there in order for that work!! 😲😲😲😲
This makes me even more excited for my new pc to come in!! I’ve played the sims 4 on console since I was 7 (I just turned 13) and for my birthday my uncle built me a pc (its coming in the mail now) and I can finally play the sims 4 with mods!!

I wanna spread this info to all my console players (I'm on xbox)
Without any cheats, you can hold both triggers and press left or right on your d-pad, left to size down and right to size up. You can also hold LB + RB while an object is selected, and use the right stick to rotate the object freely (best used with the move objects cheat though, as the hitbox rotates with the item)
With cheats (bb.moveobjects) you can hold both triggers and press up on the d-pad to raise up, or down to lower the object.

You can also plug a keyboard and mouse into the back of your Xbox using the usb ports or the front usb ports on ps4

I saw this similar build on another channel as well. Same thing with the platforms, etc. It's a good idea. Love the color swatches, too.
That design is similar to how I wanted one of my character's rooms to look (based on a drawing) so the fact that you made this video really helps- ty ^^

unrelated but if you want a laundry room but you dont have laundry stuff pack, if you have the university pack, stack mini fridges on top of each other for a washer and dryer! im sure this works with sizing down regular fridges as well

I have done this so many times with the bed hanging off the platform, right next to the platform, all different ways. It works once and then my sim can’t access the platform anymore. Ugh
Oh that's so strange. The only thing I can think is if you place an item under the centre of the bed, Sims can no longer get in the bed (I hope that makes sense)

You can also build two rooms on top of each other and make the top floor half walls
You can but I do this so I can make tiny homes with less tiles

You remove the basement afterwards so it doesn’t take up any tiles
i can’t figure out how to make the half walls 😩. when i click the walk i build it has a “half wall” option, but it’s wayyy too short compared to the 1x3 platform i made
you can select them where the icon to build a wall/basement/...is :) hope u find it

Hi! I absolutely loved the design and tried to recreate it myself, but once I was done building I playtested it and my sim just won't use the stairs, she'll just teleport up and down and go through the wall🥲
I'm relatively new to the Sims so I don't know what it could be
*edit: she only goes through walls when I place the archway, if I delete it she goes up the stairs
Why wont it allow me to create a basement?? "Cannot connect blocks of different levels" comes up
You have to start the basement under a section that doesn’t have a platform

If you’re in the section where walls are underneath you have half walls (you can paint them but if you mean actually colouring the platform at the bottom of that so under half walls and half wall trims there’s platform paints to paint your platforms

May I know why you have to make a basement and raise some shelves for this to work?
I don’t like the look of the floating bed so I use shelves to make it look like a floor, you have to put them in the basement because if you put them directly under the bed, the bed is no longer functional

What was the point of the basement and raising shelves? I just dont see how that did anything for the build...
To make a faux floor, I don’t like the end just floating but you don’t have to do it. I just like my builds to look finished

Are you able to try make on that's console friendly we're able to turn on cheats and get everything in the cheats and we're able to size things up and down most people don't know that I don't know if we can raise things up or not so can you make one without that usable or not even possible
on console i type either bb.moveobjects on and then grab the item and move it up with the raise/lower floor buttons quickly or i enter a random few letters, enter, and move it up with the raise/lower floor buttons. it takes a bit to get proper function back after that so just mash buttons until you can raise or lower the floor again
both options require bb.moveobjects to be on

If you go to where the walls section is and under it is half walls, look at the bottom option and there’s platform trims

The desk is base game but I added 2 sized down side tabled from dream home decorator to make the draws on the side

Maybe your wall is too short? Try changing it the tall one
Can’t get the bed to work and my sim won’t interact with any objects in the room underneath. Just wasted hours on this build just for it to be unusable
may i ask why it can’t be a 3x3 platform instead of using the shelves?
It’s so you can have a room underneath, it s great for making tiny/micro homes
What's the reason behind creating a basement and moving surfaces/objects higher up? Is it for aesthetics or does it make the bed accessible? I've never really understood why :/
It makes the bed accessible if I just put the shelves directly under the bed the bed wouldn’t work. I’m using shelves to create a faux floor so the bed doesn’t look like it’s floating. I hope that helps!

You just have to add the walls back in, they always do this, it's super annoying that the Sims team haven't fixed it yet

She replied to another comment that adding the basement/shelves is so the bed would have a "floor" instead of just floating there 😊

"stair can't intersect with rooves" it is a one floor cabin, removing roof fixes problem but then there is no roof. Since it is a cabin making it 2 story would ruin it
If you go up to where you can see the missing roof, click on that area till a yellow border pops up and then click it and you can add a ceiling
Platforms sometime remove ceilings it’s a nightmare
I don't understand the shelf. Could someone please explain why it's in the basement? I don't see it in the little alcove. What is it's function?
It's just to act as a fake floor, or it looks like the bed is floating. It's not 100% necessary, but I personally like to add it. It's in the basement because if you put it under the bed on the same floor the bed isn't functional anymore

To make a fake floor or you’ll have a floating bed, you don’t have to just preference

How do you raise a specific floor platform? Every time I try to raise just one room it’ll raise all of them:(. Me and my bf gotten into the sims pretty recently so we barely know anything and we’re trying to learn. It just makes it super hard to build when you have no clue what does what or what it’ll effect
So you’re not using the platform tool you’re using the foundation tool by the sounds of it. The foundation tool is that big arrow you pull up and down. The platform tool appears when you click on the room and a white box pops up in the box there’s arrows and you use them to do just one room. I hope that helps, I do have a video on my page but I can’t link it in the comments as UA-cam removed that feature

Im confused about what the basement part did
The bed looks like its floating since there's no floor. If you put the shelves under the bed on the regular level the bed wouldn't be functional so putting them in the basement and raising them up makes the bed still functional

If you type in immaculate shelf in the bottom left it should come up, it’s base game too
