She is the most vocal little eagle that I’ve ever heard! Lol All the other eagles on UA-cam aren’t as outspoken I guess you would say, as our lil Spirit is! It’s just to funny & cute! I hope she keeps being vocal like this! We will surely know that it’s her if she does!! After all she has been special since day 1, and she keeps doing things a little different than others! But that’s the only way to be!! 🤗

I have finally decided what I will get Shadow for Christmas. Some custom made Kevlar armored shoes and pants! So Spirit can’t bite his feet off! 🤣 And maybe a pair of Kevlar tights and shoes for Jackie!!🦅🐠🤣🤣
It takes about a year for them to have the flight skills to catch a fish. She will scavenge and steal food. Although this year at SWFA eagle nest E20 started catching small fish in the nearby pond. He stayed much longer than his sister. He would fly to the to the tilted palm tree and practice flying low across the water and lo behold he had a small fish. He was very advanced for his.age. Never have I seen this this happen so young. Point being we never know. Eagles leave the area and dont spend a lot of time with their parents to see how they hunt. Let's pray Spirit stays long enough to watch and learn she is def smart.
Yes, it IS all about her. Hunting for food takes precision and is learned/acquired. It is not something that juveniles can do readily, any more than an infant can tie their own shoes. Juveniles scavenge for the first year or so until those skills are honed, but rest assured they are learning, observing, and figuring it all out during this time by trial and error. At this stage of development, the parent eagles will continue to bring food until the eaglet leaves the natal territory. What this video shows is that her skills ARE developing nicely. She managed that fish like a total BOSS! After missing J&S bring in two fish to the nest this week, Spirit is now keeping a sharp eye on the parents. She soared to make herself visible and used her voice to make her needs known (I'm hungry, see me?) and it wasn't long that Jackie arrived with a fish. GREAT JOB SPIRIT!!!
