That remark about "honest-to-Gregg" in the postage meter ad probably refers to the Gregg typing and stenography textbooks/workbooks they used to use in typing and steno classes in high schools and business schools. Meaning the female office worker likely went to a business school to learn her job.
Well Heinz does make the best tomato soup Larry and thank God for women,it's no accident that the serpent went to Eve first,he knew who the smart one was,Adam was probably off somewhere playing with his navel waiting for someone to bring him a pizza, nothing would have got done without women, plus they're better looking then us,God bless them! Bob
I look at it this way. Future generations will look back on our time & judge what we said & did. So even though I’m a woman I know that this is from a different time so it doesn’t bother me too much. Hope all is well, Larry!🙋🏻♀️
Poor Richard Deacon... Ha. He's in that Stacked ad. A well known character actor for many years but probably best known as Mel Cooley on the Dick Van Dyke Show.
Proctor - Silex merged in 1960 and by 1988 the company became Hamilton Beach. Cigarette ads were advertised as glamorous, healthy social times to relax. As an asthmatic in the 1950's as a child, it is a wonder I survived because no matter where I went, cigarette smoke in restaurants to the work places when I was an adult working, our shipping factory many people smoked for years. Fortunately, I am still alive, thanks to medical with puffers and steroids. But those cigarette ads were so glamorous in their advertisements on tv and every ad in newspapers, magazines, posters, etc... Thanks Larry, for sharing, it shows the man's world after the war. Thank God, it is better but in no means arrived. Take care.
The vitiman add were probably mother's to little helpers as the stones said as far as the stacked hmmm oven fully developed they should of said top and bottom rack and the man should of looked like tony Curtis not the man from the dick van dike show
Those old adds sound bad , and thinking was different but you could argue with somebody and not get shot you could pat a girl on the shoulder and she didn't holler rape and you could leave your house for awhile and leave your door unlocked , you could take a nice walk at night and not worry about it. All I'm saying is think about it !
This would be funny if these were real 🤣 great video Larry!

$45.95 in 1948 is $631 today and $22 in 1948 is just over $300 today so ya they weren’t cheap back then.

The ads are still wrong ..
@LarryGravesASMR They could have put more thought in them , for sure. Back then no one cared it was just an add.
Terrible ads
You mean it doesn't make you want to buy a well-endowed microwave oven?
