Hi Glen. The cool thing about what you did at the end with the Impulse program is that you didn’t precisely duplicate the sound of the X100 but did end up getting near the Boston guitar sound that I’ve long enjoyed the most, the tone from *Don’t Look Back.*
How do you record the X100 to a DAW if you interface has mono inputs? Do you need to have a mini stereo jack to 2 mono inputs? Also, does it need additional cabinet modelling from the DAW, or is the sound already useable as it is?
1. potentially a security risk if anyone knows you got one. 2. replaceable with a Digitech RP350 One of the strong reasons for that is Kimbra. Because of her we keep Digitech in the mix. We're not to mention Prince unless she does. I name Tom Scholz of Boston as my musical commander.
I had all the Rockmodules back in the mid 80’s…I used to run them in parallel with a Marshall, and just blend the Rockman in..Sounded great…it’s definitely a very unique and instantly recognizable tone….
The Soloist has a different clipping circuit but it sounds good and similar. It doesn't have the chamber echo (reverb) which many people would like to shut off anyway. The X100 uses LEDs as clippers and the Soloist uses normal diodes. Def Leppard used the Soloist on a number of tracks over the X100.
the clean chorus its killer!

Excellent!!, Thankyou.
Thank god it's about spirit and not tone

Great demo. Those X100 sounds are perfect.
Yes : Plug into 2 DSL 100's or Plexi's stereo . Game Changer ! Works great with Black Sabbath 💥
Both dave mustaine and Chris poland from megadeth used the rockman X100 boosting the hi input of their marshall amps on the peace sells album
It's Amazing all that tone from that little Box.. it's Def Leppard in a box.
Really accurate playing dude. Have you tried the Dunlap version ?
I like your goofy and very talented.
Such a cool tone he had
Can you share your helix patches for Boston in this Video ? Sounds great :)
Patches are on the Line 6 site for the Helix.
sounds good, definitely ahead of its time, made me think of the "sounds like a real amp" meme
Check out the Hysteria Rockman video I just posted.
Nice video
Does the Rockman Soloist sound similar to this?
