Really interesting subject matter! Our creative interventions and capabilities we have with our editing and processing, has changed vastly over the years ...... At the end of the day, you're right about the light - it's all about the light. Our photograph editing depends on subject matter and conditions, the changes we make, are hopefully a way of enhancing what was already there in the base layers and composition anyway. There is that invisible line though, as subjective as it is, to say that too much editing becomes graphic design or a finished image that has become distracted from it's initial intention. Then we introduce balance - it's about the recipe, the artist's palette - the greatest chefs and masters of the arts, always look to improve the taste, presentation, quality and finish in their work. So is it about the concept? The intention? Or do we lose originality when all those different layers are applied?
Wow! Loved this topic (as you can see, as I've waffled for far too long) 🤦‍♀️
Keep showing us new things and new ideas ✨💖 Good to discuss these things x Thank you 😊

What a lovely reply 👌🏻 Thanks for considering it.. I think underneath it all, we can use the subject to check ourselves maybe? If we want to that is 🤗 How are we applying ourselves? Where do we have room for improvement? and most importantly... Is our use of the massively powerful tools on the desktop, appropriate, honest and balanced? Then out the bottom may fall little indications or senses of where we have room to wiggle.. what we can do to improve our photographic art.. More 'Photography Concepts' will come 🙏🏻 Thank you S

Nice Steve, agree with the definition of photography and further expansion of what it means, the anticipation, preparation, event, and post-event processing, love it all. I don't like these new new 'additives' that have been introduced, as you know, but accept it as another 'creative' avenue for others to enjoy.

Thank you my friend 👍 Yeah, it's a beautiful thing indeed and no AI can replace that can it👌 If folks enjoy crafting composites more power to them, I do kinda hope (in a weird kinda way) 😉 there's also a growing appreciation for 'real' photographs & for the photographers behind them 👌😎 We live in hope 😉
Fog forecast here again tomorrow 😌 6am alarm set, batteries charged, cards all formatted 👌 ..hope you have some of the same 🙏

    As always; real interesting subject!👏🙏
Study and capture of light, indeed. But I immediately think of perspective, moments and emotions. And sometime a picture can have something even though it’s not the right light. But you’ve manage to capture something that says a thousands words. But there always have to be light, or we do have a real problem😉😂😅 and what photographing is depends some on what you photograph... and the connection! ...“the connection with that subject, whatever that subject may be”, beautifully spoken!😃
Lovely subject! And always learning from you! Thanks 🙏 💚
    Nice bunny ears 😂
And oh, I do so agree with you regarding AI!

Thank you for the kind words, I sincerely appreciate you 😌🙏 It's an amazing craft isn't it? So many opportunities & ways to express ourselves. Connection with our subject 👌🍃 Kinda like the bunny ears too 🐰🤣

Interesting topic again. I totally agree that it's the thrill of landscape photography that is the main point for me, getting up early, preparing, planning, getting to location and maybe the conditions aren't what was expected... but that's half the fun, then adapting and seeing what can be done, I don't see any satisfaction in AI editing of images. But I understand it's existence in this time of social media and the viral content that most consumers believe is 'attractive'. just not for me. BTW, did easter come early, I swear I spotted the easter bunny in this video? 😂 Great stuff

Strange how in these times, when there have never been more devices & people shooting images, the leading software would ignore any traditional values and bring to the table these Mickey Mouse (or Roger Rabbit) 🐰features. It just demonstrates how Adobe have no fundamental photographic foundation, I think. With you all the way dude, it's the adventure & that can never be replaced. The challenges, efforts, smells, light, weather & friends we meet.... priceless 👌 Will be taking a serious look at non-Adobe software next year I think 🙏

Thank you my friend👌 ..I think that rings true for most serious photographers. I've read a couple of brief posts online, folks questioning if AI is good or bad, right or wrong, useful or not.. Hopefully sharing our views helps someone form their own opinions too 🙏
Early start to the weekend for me, fog was forecast today (Friday) so I'm up before dawn & it's clear as a whistle so far 😉 Hope you too have a great weekend too👌 ..from a frosty Sherwood Forest, England 🍂

To be honest, I don't like the direction this AI has taken. We'll end up having all the same kind of images with skies chosen from a library or something like that. More and more people will not think anymore on the field because later the AI will do the job... in this way to me is not photography anymore, it's more graphic design.

I share the same concerns 👌 What they can never replace is our experience & our individuality my friend. We can have pride in our work as true & authentic photography, I'm sure they'll never be able to replicate that 🙏
Photography will always be photography while we maintain our honesty. I agree, when AI is used to manufacture an image it's not photography any more & those who create this way will have to accept their work has that 'AI' look no serious photographer will even want to be associated with 👌
Thanks for the comment Fabrizio, wishing you well my friend 🥃👍
