I believe technically Billy Budd has a stammer problem, not a stutter. With a stutter, it’s about repeating syllables over and over. But with a stammer, it’s about struggling to get words out. Ok, maybe aim nitpicking here. ☺️

I wonder if it's significant that Britten's boyfriend, Peter Pears, sang Billy so frequently getting hanged? Or was it that he was greatly hung?
