Morgan is a GEM for our times. I think a big part of what makes him special is that he has zero ego and no agenda. And of course he is also super smart, well read, analytical, down to earth, a great communicator and seemingly very approachable. The Psychology of Money is one of my favorite books of all time.
All of Morgan's success is well earned and deserved. Highly recommend his books, podcast and Collaboritive fund blog. It's all priceless but I'd be way more than he is charging for all of it (the blog is free as is the podcast!).

If you're rich, you may have "life problems". If you are poor, in addition to "life problems," you have a lot of...money problems. So, I'd rather deal with depression and lack of meaning in life having money.
I listened to your episode with Jack, which inspired me to meditate again, your episode with Mate and Roll helped me workout some child trauma, your episode with Apollo has turned me into an aspiring magician, Attia got me to sign up to a gym, Sam Harris is a shining light of morality, and now Morgan which has a ton of takeaways, but the main one for me is to be grateful. I've been invested in the idea of living life in a counter-intuitive way and I'm glad Morgan's contrary approach to life (as bleak as one might attribute it to be) is being reverberated. Thanks for going deep Tim.
Tim's point about how hope is so much more valuable than people give it credit for, especially for someone struggling, and most humans do struggle in some way, and how buying a lottery ticket to give you something to look forward to and strive for and be excited about is very true. I have found this to be true for myself, and as I look back at things I have done, including getting excited about saving and investing for the possible wealth and escape velocity it could generate for me and my family over time, this really helped me to push forward through hard and dark times. Still working on it, getting wiser and seeing things more broadly than I used to, and grateful for the journey and the nuggets of hope along the way :)
That is so true, I certainly bought lottery tickets when I was in 20’s & 30’s. Last time I bought a lottery tickets was join my friends as a fun activity when the prize was so high. It really teaches us to have some humility about other’s life situations.

As far as the question of where text goes and how podcasts are involved: I'm speaking from my own experience here: I love the *mix* because of my life circumstances: I love listening to a book or podcast when doing chores and stuff simply because i have very little time i can dedicate to reading. *And* i love to have a physical copy of the book around to re-read points, stare at some pictures or graphs, add notes and what have you. *Also* i love to experience the authors of the books through podcasts and their ilk as an enhancement and extension. So in my world, text is going nowhere, while at the same time i do appreciate the audiobooks and podcasts. Keep up both, even if the kids may not appreciate it (yet). (I btw. think that Tim is right about the "replacement rate"...). And rest assured that if i get to have kids, i will make them read probably 80% of the books i have (and not stop them from reading all of them if they wanted to) *and* at least Morgans books are among them...

So good to know I am in good position as I am very content with my life( financially & emotionally). Since I 😂as over 30, never felt the need to impress others, just want to make myself feel good about the person I am.
Awesome, as usual. 2 comments: my 2 and 4 year old listened to this with me, so there's your kid demographic Tim 🤣and I would wonder, as a first generation wealth builder, I am VERY concerned with leaving my kids with absolutely nothing, while also fostering independence to make their own. I wonder what a European culture, for example, might say about this. It seems very American. We are not only more concerned with "wealth" than other countries, but we live in a country where we need to literally work harder to survive, from a cost of living/economic standpoint.
Money buys you the possibilities. If you have a depression and you are rich, you can deal with that disease by hiring a specialist. If you don't have enough money for that - the only choice is to figure it out by your own. So some quotes from the guest sound a bit biased
