Recently purchased this 10 cd boxset on ebay for $12.00, most of these songs I remember hearing them in the 70s on a bunch of 8track those best of country music compilations my family use to have.
These singers allow you to experience a time period you didn't get to experience. They make you really feel like youre there experiencing their story. And they paint a picture you can see clearly.
I can't say I'm an aficionado of classic country, but there's something about the insomniac quality of this that's mesmerizing. It's a collection of 4-second slices of pop culture from another time. Thanks for posting.
