    Thank you very much for the video. I was trying to find the best explanation for ICP-OES principles. I found it here!

    Jarosite seems to have two vitals for plants ---Potassium and a Sulfate molecule.If you can somehow knock of the Iron,think you have a winner .Potash has huge demand.Good presentation though!

    How do you prepare the blank and standards? It was very easy to understand. Thank you!

      The nanopure water can be purchased. Some labs have machines that can produce it. I have been told that it is more pure than regular DI water produced by other machines in lab.
      The acid blank is the same solution used to dissolve your sample.
      The standards can be purchased. You can dilute standards in the nanopure water using a micropipette. It is best to make the concentration of standards near where you think the concentration of your sample is.

      @@ZGNeale you are so amazing!
      You share your knowledge and you still have time to answer our questions. Thank you so much Mr. Zachary!
      My apologies I just read your response today.

    I am writing a report on ICP-OES analysis, and I was wondering if you could explain what emission lines are. I have to include them in my report but i've gone through my lectures and textbooks and have no idea what it means!

      An emission line is the wavelength of light that emits from the ion species. Elements can have several lines depending on their electron structure. In ICP-OES you select which wavelengths you want to measure. I think it is called a line because the light that is refracted through a prism produces a spectrum with a bright line for those wavelengths, look up images of emission line spectrum.

    Can i use your ICP-AES schematic (seen at 2:01) in a paper i have to write for school?

      Yes, please go ahead. You may cite my thesis as a reference, there might be a better quality figure in there, I forget which chapter.

    We got 'Negative Mean Concentration' for some metals. What does it mean ?

    • @ZGNeale
      @ZGNeale  2 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure, but probably that is because your concentration is so low (or zero) that you received negative values within the error of the calibration curve.
