Aiko40 Day 2 was a blast and the band is so very grateful for our fans, old and new, who came out to help us celebrate 40 years of honoring the music of our forebears, the Grateful Dead.
Huge thanks to Marquis Theater and all the amazing “special guest” musicians who just rocked our world: Eric Krasno, Anders Osborne, Stanton Moore, Jason Hann, Brad Walker, Wil Blades, Alex Wasily, and John Michael Bradford!!
Much love to all and see you next year for Aiko41.
Let there be songs to fill the air 🧡
    BERTHA
    I had a hard run
    Running from your window
I was all night running, running, running
    I wonder if you care?
    I had a run-in
    Run around and run down
    Run around a corner
    Run smack into a tree
    I had to move
    Really had to move
    That's why if you please
I am on my bended knees
Bertha don't you come around here anymore
    Dressed myself in green
I went down to the sea
Try to see what's going down
    Maybe read between the lines
Had a feeling I was falling, falling, falling
    Turned around to see
Heard a voice calling, calling, calling
    You was comin after me
    Back to me
    I had to move
    Really had to move
    That's why if you please
I am on my bended knees
Bertha don't you come around here anymore
    Ran into a rainstorm
    Ducked into a bar door
It was all night pouring, pouring rain
But not a drop on me
    Test me, test me
    Why don't you arrest me?
Throw me in the jail house
    Until the sun goes down
    Till it go down
    I had to move
    Really had to move
    That's why if you please
I am on my bended knees
Bertha don't you come around here anymore
    GOOD LOVIN'
Well, I was feeling so bad
Asked my family doctor about what I had
I said, "Doctor, Doctor, Mister MD
(doctor) can you tell me (doctor)
    What's ailing me? (doctor) "
He said, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"
    All you need
All you really need: good loving
Because you got to have loving (good loving)
Everybody got to have loving (good loving)
A little good loving now baby, good loving
So come on baby, squeeze me tight
Don't you want your daddy to be alright?
I said baby, now it's for sure
I've got the fever, you got the cure
He said, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"
    All you need
All you really need: good loving
Because you got to have loving (good loving)
Everybody got to have loving (good loving)
A little good loving now baby, good loving
Hey, got to have loving (good loving)
Well, you got to have loving (good loving)
Come on now and give me good loving
    (good loving)
Well, I was feeling sort of bad now
Asked my family doctor about what I had
I said, "Doctor, Doctor, mister MD (doctor)
    Can you tell me
    (doctor) , what's ailing me? (doctor) "
He said, "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"
    All you need
All you really need: good loving
Hey, now you got to have loving (good loving)
Everybody got to have loving (good loving)
Give me, give me, give me some loving
    (good loving)
Come on now, everybody get right
    (got to have loving)
You may be weak or you may be blind
    (got to have loving)
But even a blind man knows
When the sun is shining (got to have loving)
So turn it on now (got to have loving)
Turn on, turn on your light
    (got to have loving)
Give me, give me, give me some loving
    (good loving)
Hey, now you got to have loving (good loving)
You need it, I need it
Well you got to have loving (good loving)
Say it again now, good loving
Well turn on your light, you won't regret it
    (good loving)
You got to go for the good and get it
    (good loving)
Everybody, they got to have loving
    (good loving)
Hey, now you got to have loving
AIKO is a band of musical brothers forged in Nashville Tennessee in 1984 in the spirit of the great jam band masters, the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers. As with their forebears, AIKO fuses various elements of American rock, folk, psychedelia, country and bluegrass into lengthy instrumental jams. AIKO is made up of an eclectic group of musicians from around the country. The four original band members, Steve Ballenger (lead guitar/vocals), Ross Mason (drums), Ben Anderson (bass/vocals) and Ted Pattison (guitar/vocals) were joined in the late '90's by three additional musicians: Steve Krafft (lead guitar/vocals), Lance Deal (drums). Scott Fernandez (keyboards), Jessie Krafft and Michelle Yahn (vocals) joined the band after 2018. AIKO has played to crowds at bars, amphitheaters and festivals around the U.S. for the last 40 years.
