That's kind of a silly question imo when she asked him why don't they send something down there to look for them . What can they send they're deep in the waters of the ocean.Even he seemed baffled when she asked that.
People really act like this is standard procedure and common practice driving 12,000 ft into the ocean. Why didn’t they just send another team down to grab the vessel? Because there is only ONE vessel in existence and even if there were two this thing weighs 10 tons and cannot be brought back up
Because it is 😂😂 they have made this trip regularly to the titanic for the last 40 years. They have made thousands of similar journeys not to titanic but at other places. Every time they have all come back up safe and sound. This is a one of freak incident There isn’t only one. The UK has five subs which are more than capable. The problem is they are not on sight. And america being america of course we are holding everything up instead of allowing the people who are skilled in this stuff to take charge
Apparently they aren't that smart to not build an emergency beacon or noisemaker countermeasures is just amazing. It should be equipped with a horn at the minimum.
You would think that they would have a cable hooked to the ship to the submersible, just in case something like this happens? I’m thinking it cracked under the tremendous pressure, and it exploded and crushed.
that's actually very unlikely, we really have pressure vessels down at this point, and, as sketchy as the Titan is, it's a good pressure vessel. There's a chance that some part of it flooded, though even then, that would likely just damage the electronics. If they weren't able to float to the surface, then the most likely scenarios is actually just them stuck at the bottom of the ocean, or drifting thousands of feet underwater, waiting to die.
@@hunterra217 at that depth if a gasket in the hatch failed, even just a tiny hole, the interior would fill up with water so fast that releasing all of the ballast would not allow it to float back up to the surface. as the water enters it compresses the air inside the sub to the point where the high pressure crushes the crew to death before they can drown.
@@hunterra217 they said they lost contact, an hour an 45 minutes into the dive? If they have they must be bobbing in the waves and they have no way of opening the hatch? And that’s the best scenario!

I want the sub that has titanium walls, not carbon fiber walls.
I always running out batteries from my xbox controller, I’m not making a joke out of this.
James Cameron should use all his resources and knowledge to go looking for them.
The BBC's documentary, all 43 minutes of going submersible with this actual one. They had problems with the controller and instead of forwards/backwards it was going round in circles. This looks like a disaster that was waiting to happen.
I’m glad David has experienced this submarine so we have some insight on what could be happening I feel bad for everyone except the ceo
Yeah the CEO seems to have the same concern with safety as the operator of a pop-up carnival in a parking lot.
That submersible is like a nailed coffin buried at sea.
Wow, this is nuts.
The news keeps saying they have this many hours of air left but with a electrical failure the scrubbers on the sub wont work and without the scrubbers theres no breathable air
Having a breech in the metal and it being crushed inwards like an aluminum can is a horrible death.
It would happen so fast they wouldn’t have a clue
@@Zed-qk2vt That is what they always say...just to be kind to the family...look up submarine deaths and how they were found...it's like being buried alive...slow leak slow death...
@@Zed-qk2vt Honestly, I think some or all are already dead just from the pure terror of being in the dark knowing that you are going to die and you are leaving sons and daughters behind. It would be hard not to go into a panick attack and then cardiac arrest. I feel very sorry for them.
@@Zed-qk2vt Agreed
Five rich people in a lost submersible get more attention than 500 refugees in a sunken ship...
People shouldn't be down there disturbing those souls anyway.
Are the "souls" actually down there, or are they in heaven?
Super rich people can't even let the dead rest in peace. They have to go down there and knock. So the ghosts have finally opened the door and said "come on in".
Ghost: We'll they keep on insisting and insisting....
(4:22) "co-designed with NASA & UW-APL" The hull that failed was built in 2020 by Electroimpact and Janicki Industries in Seattle and designed with Collier Aerospace's Hyperx FEA software all subcontractors to OceanGate. NASA and UW-APL did not design the hull that failed, Pogue is simply regurgitating Rush's egregious name-drops. Do some journalism David, please.
I think there was a breach in the hull And the sub imploded . That means everybody died in a 10th of a second that's why no distress Signal was sent
The controller ran out of battery💀
The Kursk sank in just 100M of water an nobody survived. Unfortunately, I don't think this story will have a happy ending.
I don’t get it. It’s not like they were gonna be able to get out of this death trap and walk around the titanic. They could have seen it on the same documentary I saw.
So sad. I so hope the out come is a good one prayer for the passengers on board this submersible.
Prayers for peace of mind for the families that wait for the miracle they deserve 🙏 ❤️
I hope that prayers for the people in the submersible have more effect than they had for the passengers of the Titanic.
@@Steevee14well the prayers were answered because many survived the Titanic :)
OOPS.......WRONG AGAIN ATHEIST :)
@@kleeamd8274 1) Steevee never said they were an atheist. 2) Over two-thirds of the crew and passengers of the Titanic lost their lives.
@@novaava 1. Their words say everything 2. 700+ survived by God's grace :)
@@kleeamd8274you are totally right. Poseidon works in a mysterious ways 😊. Hope he can help this time also.
How fortunate are we, that David Pogue wasn’t on the recent dive?
"We're mobilizing and exploring all options to bring the crew back safely."
Now if we just knew where they were...
That's kind of a silly question imo when she asked him why don't they send something down there to look for them . What can they send they're deep in the waters of the ocean.Even he seemed baffled when she asked that.
Omg, why would anyone get in there?! Really so sad.
Why would anyone attempt to climb Mt. Everest, where hundreds are known to have died due to exposure to harsh elements.
@@Steevee14 Because it is there.
damn he was 100% right about the implosion
I saw the clip about the sub and how improvised it is. I would never go into that thing. So sad others trusted it.
R.I.P
A drinking game should be made around the number of times Gayle says “whoa” to something she already covered in a previous segment*.
This was the best informational vid I've seen about this
A crushed sub can't surface...
Praying for that miracle!! 🙏🙌
We pray for them to b found n safe . 🙏
At that depth there's no chance they're alive. Even the guy said if they were found there is no way to rescue them.
That man rlly said the easiest explanation I’ve heard so far
People really act like this is standard procedure and common practice driving 12,000 ft into the ocean. Why didn’t they just send another team down to grab the vessel? Because there is only ONE vessel in existence and even if there were two this thing weighs 10 tons and cannot be brought back up
And because they wouldn't even know where to send the rescue vehicle.
Because it is 😂😂 they have made this trip regularly to the titanic for the last 40 years. They have made thousands of similar journeys not to titanic but at other places.
Every time they have all come back up safe and sound. This is a one of freak incident
There isn’t only one. The UK has five subs which are more than capable. The problem is they are not on sight. And america being america of course we are holding everything up instead of allowing the people who are skilled in this stuff to take charge
When reached for comment, OceanGate said "new phone, who dis".
$250K to die like this
Apparently they aren't that smart to not build an emergency beacon or noisemaker countermeasures is just amazing. It should be equipped with a horn at the minimum.
You would think that they would have a cable hooked to the ship to the submersible, just in case something like this happens? I’m thinking it cracked under the tremendous pressure, and it exploded and crushed.
*imploded
that's actually very unlikely, we really have pressure vessels down at this point, and, as sketchy as the Titan is, it's a good pressure vessel.
An expert who made the journey in the same submersible claimed it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach the bottom. So something must have happened before they reached the bottom? If it was the power that went out, they would have immediately used their manual method of reaching the surface? If they have they must be bobbing in the waves and they have no way of opening the hatch? And that’s the best scenario!
@@joemasse4568 I'd agree except previous riders and some staff have confirmed that losing contact at those depths is basically normal for this craft, that's why it took many hours before anything was reported. Really anything could have happened, you're right that that's the best case scenario, though that would be a horrible way to go, slowly suffocating to death like that.
Say goodbye to Ocean Gate. The lawsuits are coming. Why no Pinger?
Bolted from the outside,Coffin no thanks RIP❤
Wow, the person who build it also was there right?
Yep. Kind of heavenly justice in the end.
The company just released a statement:
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
Not right now.
Its now confirmed implosion happend under the sea. Rest In Peace.
I pray to God they are found soon. I hope for the best.
Maybe the end caps press inwards..but laminated carbon fibre is not designed for compression, only tension.
