ive read the bible multiple times but on this run through decades after first starting on reading the bible, i read about the Nazarite Vow in Numbers and it just hit me that i need to do it but like most people,i wasnt sure if it were permitted for us. so your video has been reassuring. its just weird how this whole topic has jumped out at me on this occasion but never has before. I probably wouldnt have clocked on about sacrificed meats so thanks for mentioning that, now i know. My question is if (God forbid) a loved one died, are you prepared to stick to your vow and stay away from them?
Thank you for your comment. It is amazing how the Lord draws your eye to things in scripture. My father died just before the end of my vow and I was with him when he died. I did cut my hair 7 days after being with him when he died as instructed by scripture. Christ fulfilled the sacrificial system so, no need for the sacrifices. However a pure and praying heart is certainly required
@@yaahoo5844 Condolences. And thank you for responding. My biggest issue is I'm not blessed with hair like yours, if I grow my hair I'll have a massive bald patch so would have to wear a hat or look crazy at work lol.
@@Xbot4Life thank you for your reply. You are in good company. Elijah too had baldness as we read in Scripture. Also the possibility that The Apostle Paul also. Part of the sacrifice is surrendering any vanity of our appearance and being willing to look scruffy for the Lord. I certainly felt scruffy on the vow. I definitely think it’s part of the process. Even if you choose not to take a full vow, surrendering something like alcohol or candy or bacon (just examples) can remind you to pray. It’s about spiritual discipline. Not everyone is in the position to take a full vow. I am not in the position at the moment. That’s not to say that we can’t give things to God. (Metaphorically)
Thank you for this video. I would like your advice on something. I am a believer but yet I find myself struggling with alcohol. I have a couple of mental conditions related to my tours in Iraq. Before, God had taken away my desire for alcohol but I went back to it. It interferes with my relationship with God. I am thinking about taking the Nazarene vow and focusing it on no alcohol and limiting technology in my life. I would unplug my tv and remove all unnecessary apps from my phone. The time I would use could be dedicated to God. I understand that part of the Nazarene vow is no alcohol. Would it be proper to add technology to it since that was not part of the original Nazarene vow. Thank you again for this video brother.
Dear Fred, thank you for your comment. Although I don’t have a strong desire for alcohol, both my parents were alcoholics and I know the damage it can do. I would say if alcohol causes you to sin, stay away from it completely. For the jews in the Old Testament, drunkenness was ill advised but not a sin, but as Christians the New Testament tells us in Galatians 5 that drunkenness is a salvation stealing sin, and in Ephesians 5. I don’t know the traumas of Iraq but I did work for the Coroner’s undertakers, removing bodies from crime scenes, suicides and accidents. I have bagged up dozens and dozens of bodies with traumatised people and families around me. I found being totally open with my wife about what I had just had to do really helped me. I would not withhold any detail. I let it all out and openly shared regularly so she knew what I had just witnessed. This does not compare to Iraq but does help me empathise a little with what you went through. I would say the Vow is good for anyone wanting to become closer to the Father and become more self disciplined. If you wanted to be structured with technology perhaps allow an hour a day, from 8-9pm perhaps and be determined to give the rest of your time to others and God. Remember James the brother of Jesus tells us that Faith without Works is dead. As you commit yourself to this vow perhaps volunteer at a local foodbank or offer to do the gardening at a care home, or dedicate time to serving your community. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to Love God first and others as yourself. When you are on this vow, giving up tasty foods and alcohol (the alcohol I would advise to give up completely anyway), it focuses you to spend more time with God, but equally we must spend more time serving others. Please share how you get on. I would love to hear how you find The Vow. I pray the Holy Spirit gives you the strength you need.

Hi brother I have 2 other videos on the vow. Everything I can tell you is on those 2 videos. If you want to discuss more you can email me on i.stanway@lightandlife.co.uk
If you want to go to the extreme to find out if the animal was strangled or if it was offered up to a god, that’s fine to do it. However, the Scriptures are really only describing these things AS YOU KNOW IT. So if you don’t know it, you have no knowledge about these things, then it’s fine to consume. It’s when you DO KNOW that you absolutely should not consume it. Sometimes ignorance can be upheld in a positive way.
Ive partaken in the vow as well for 2 yrs. Primarily the hair, not grapes, vinegar/alc, or the dead. What ive grown to understand is society has groomed people so much, they think they follow jesus but if jesus were to really come down most would be seen as clean cut slaves incapable of breaking from their conditioning, calling overgrown hair a "homeless" look
John the baptist was only eating cricket and honey! Try it it’s also allowed. I really respect all the Christian who are in touch with the whole bible NEW and OLD Testament!
John the Baptist was a Nazirite. Matthew 26:29 is where Jesus declared "I shall not drink of this fruit of the vine again..until I drink it anew with you in heaven" where all earthly vows are finished. There's more in scripture than people want to see. There's even more excuses from people about why they couldn't totally pledge themselves to God.. because it gets in the way of their standing in the world.
Absolutely. When you look into the Greek about wine and what Jesus says about the wedding at Cana, it’s obviously Jesus obtained from alcohol or grape juice until the last supper. It is custom to finish the vow with a glass of wine which is what Jesus did at the last supper. He fulfils His vow when with the father and on his visiting His followers after the resurrection His appearance is different. I agree all earthly vows are finished in Heaven as you see, Paul, James and other take the vow in the book of Acts. The Nazarite vow truly should be a Christian concept. It is still practiced today by orthodox priests
Please read what Paul wrote in I Cor 8 about how IT DOESN'T MATTER if meat has been "sacrificed to idols". As long as it passes the "clean" test of Leviticus, it should be ok
I ate some grapes mistakenly 67 days into my vow! My question is this. Do I cut my hair and start over or is that just for being around the dead? I know my high priest is Yeshua and I will verbally speak the sacrifices to him because he is the sacrifice❤
No, the scriptures are clear that only a sudden dead body next to you is what counts... The other you just have to repent for and ask for forgiveness...
With today’s ingredients, you’ve probably eaten way more than you realise. It’s all about the heart. No need to start again. Just trying be more aware in the future.
I am the son of the account owner, I am a man, I dont call it Nazarite vow, but I dont feel like cutting or combing hair, and my reason is to give up any intevention in the Almighty's way, I dont grow hair, it's God who designed it like this, less of me, more of Him in all aspects. I do find the pescatarian diet good, and even only vegetables. I am guided and my life belongs to God, my life belongs to Jesus Christ. As He will it will be, amen.
We can only end our Nazirite vows once the temple in Jerusalem is rebuilt. Taking the vow of Nazir is a binding contract with G-d that can only end by offering the proper sacrifice at the holy temple. So, essentially, by taking the vow, our main goal has become rebuilding the temple in our lifetime.
May I submit that the same reason we don't need to make sacrifices for sins is the same reason we don't have to make those specific sacrifices to end a Nazarite vow. 🙏
