I like how you made use of Freeze Frame as part of your diag, Ravi It's an extra tool at our disposal that is often overlooked. Also, I looked at your test drive and I looked outside my window and I don't think we're on the same planet...lol
Thank you Mr.Denis Yes freeze frame Data is much useful sometimes. Anyway, we are evergreen tropical country. Always summer. Our people dreaming snow. LoL
great explanation but I would also love to see the bad fuel pump and the commutator as the culprit how that does look like and how that has aged and worn out I guess. Of cause that is not part of the usual customer analysis but I think it would also be a great way to see the physical damage there and align that to the pattern seen on the oscilloscope. Not so much more work but good for educational purposes I bet. THAnks to Martin Loreen who had send me over again cause I had subscribed earlier last year but had missed this one yesterday. He had mentioned on his blog your video in early november as a good example , the mitsubishi fuel pump issue.
Yes, sure we can, if there is dedicated fuse for fuel pump we can get reading at there using fues extension loop, or same thing we could do on fuel pump relay. Otherswise we could find the fuel pump harness under the rear seat where we could get the reading from there too.
Takes knowledge to diagnose the fuel pump. You have taught us what to check.

Could you measure pump current draw waveform without dropping the fuel tank?
Yes, sure we can, if there is dedicated fuse for fuel pump we can get reading at there using fues extension loop, or same thing we could do on fuel pump relay. Otherswise we could find the fuel pump harness under the rear seat where we could get the reading from there too.
