Dave wrote and produced the original Mega NRG Man version of Seventies in 1994 and he absolutely knocked it out of the park. Production wise, it's one of the most unique and memorable eurobeat songs of the mid 90s. The "oohs" and "ahhs" in the background really give it a 70s vibe. There's just so much to love about it. I don't think any cover or remake will top the original, but I think this new one is a big improvement over Dave's 1997 version. The synths are really clean and it sounds great overall. Maybe I should make another Seventies Combo mix...

given the music that MF ghost has as its "identity" in arcade stage zero ver 2...it doesnt look like they will be choosing eurobeat as its soundtrack style, but imo i do not think mf ghost should get an anime, at this point it feels like initial d is borderline getting milked given by how much of it shigeno took to make mf ghost since it looks like a pandering fanfiction rather than its own thing, arcade stage zero doesnt even have voice acting (and since toyota decided to step down from participating in "illegal racing" video games, kadokawa/sega cannot make a new arcade stage entry, so they can only "update" zero and make it feel different), and avex keeps striking/claiming every instance of eurobeat they can get their hands on
Megálopros Well I guess being a standalone manga preserves the art though, and yeah as you said, copyright has become more strict nowadays and car companies like Toyota are against this type of exposure, although they still might change their minds because the cars used in MF Ghost are new, thus they can promote their new products. At the end of the day, we maybe won’t see any new racing genres of anime that will be cemented onto the hearts of car enthusiasts in the near future :((
You could argue that MFG is illegal. If anything it has all the features of a legal racing series. If it is to become an anime, there is so much other eurobeat out there that could be used. Also, as a continuation of Initial D series, i would assume Avex wouldn't mind cooperating here either, anime makes money and money is what Avex likes. About the story, ofc it's not great as of right now, but i would wait until the manga is finished. The main problem is the amount of filler content Shigeno puts out. In the anime it is possible to cut some parts out for viewing pleasure. So everything is possible!

This is a remake of a version of this track from his 1997 Take Me Higher album. Mega NRG Man had the original in 94, then King & Queen had a version in 96 followed by Dave's take in 97.
