I first fell back in love with this song 13 years ago. Ironically enough, when I heard a young, skinny, long-haired Daniel Tidwell rip away at it. And here I am 13 years later - still seven late to the show - loving it all over again.
I'll never forget when I asked Dan to cover this over a decade ago, and he spoiled me with all 3 of the battle themes. I dunno if he even saw that comment, but the fact he did the songs was awesome. As simple of a game as MQ was, the soundtrack was anything but. Like the best music in the series up to its point when it released.

Considering that this RPG was just a "soft"-rpg for the western market to see if the people actually like that genre, this game had some kick-ass soundtracks. This being one of them. Glad that people cover it and make it even more enjoyable.
Funny thing about that whole "soft" thing is I never really found the "more serious" RPGs THAT much more engaging. I liked that Mystic Quest didn't run on long enough to get boring and didn't artificially push battle length through high frequency, overly long encounters, and by letting you choose when/if to engage. I guess what I'm saying is the reasons so many look down on it, made it a more fun and entertaining game to me. Not to mention the absolute fire of the soundtrack.

Vincent Moretto it sounds just like one.. I used one for ages until I got my first Line 6 amp.... which for me was a luxury... not quite the same as a metalzone..but it got the job done.
