🎤 Do you feel like just singing to this song instead of playing it? I've also made a karaoke version with lyrics to
sing along with. Find it here: 🎧 • Maneater (No Hard Feel...
I learned this song by listening to the movie version of the song here 🎶 • Maneater - No hard fee... . In other words,
this is not the studio version which I believe is like 20 seconds longer and a few small differences playing wise in.
Thank you @RachelfGuitar for creating this awesome tool to help with learning to play music! It's game-changing!

This is man eater piano tutorial with both parts (No Hard Feelings). I go through the no hard feelings version by andrew barth feldman in this video showing you how to play it as he does in the movie.
📝Lyrics:
She'll only come out at night
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new
I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting
Oh, she's sitting with you, but her eyes are on the door
So many have paid to see what you think you're getting for free
The woman is wild, a she-cat tamed by the purr of a Jaguar
Money's the matter
If you're in it for love, you ain't gonna get too far
Oh, here she comes
Watch out, boy, she'll chew you up
Oh, here she comes
She's a maneater
I wouldn't if I were you
I know what she can do
She's deadly, man
She could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
Oh, the beauty is there, but a beast is in the heart
Oh, here she comes
Watch out, boy, she'll chew you up
Oh, here she comes
She's a maneater

Here you'll find an instrumental karaoke version of the full song as well. I've added in the lyrics synced to the playing as well and it was my first time creating a video like this. Would love your thoughts on it (quality, improvements, ideas etc.) so feel free to share whatever you think about it! ua-cam.com/video/2xSLcXxfqfs/v-deo.htmlsi=uP5cvljZvnEKWmUN Have fun! 🎤☺🫶
Awesome video. A little difficult as a beginner to follow the hand placements of the notes so you have at least one person waiting on that deeper breakdown but Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for letting me know! I'll add that to my list ☺ I hope you got some parts down for now at least :)
I’m a self taught pianist, I think it’s easier to learn your own hand placements then copying exactly. I learned a bunch of classical songs just by seeing the notes and figuring out the hand placement myself. Just because it’s not done like everyone else doesn’t make it not as good as a professional. Even professionals had to start somewhere.
Great comment, I agree! I did it the same way. There have for sure been times where I've struggled to play certain sections of pieces and then it's been good help to look at how others might do to get ideas if needed to evolve.
For instance on Reddit there is a community called /piano where people sometimes upload questions regarding what the "optimal" hand placements might be by submitting a video/photo of them playing. It's a great way when you get stuck but for the most part I also think that you can still find your own ways :)
So in the end, the "correct" way of doing things that are not the only way of doing things so don't be discouraged if you're doing it your own way ☺️✨
btw, sorry for the late reply, I missed the notification from your comment until now.
i feel the same way this is the first thing im learning on the piano and overall it is clear but sometimes it is a little difficult to see what keys are being pressed and follow the exact same sound so i need to sit down for more time and follow. some parts are easier tho some were more difficult
Great question from Ricardo , not only finding the cord as there are more than one way to play chords , once finding a chord that you like to suite I like to listen and make sure it sounds right , if it don’t sound like it belongs to the song then yeah find one that does work , I have seen some man eater tutorials and they have notes missing or added and puts me off , this video sounds nice so I’ll try stick with this , sounds nice I like it. Cheers.
Ok , Mr VonSmash. Good work!
Your voicings are good as well as your vocals. Please don’t apologize for wrong notes or mistakes. I am still amazed at the magic that comes from just playing thru . Unless you stop or stall out most peeps don’t notice or even care! Well done & donewell.
Thank you, that's very kind. You're right, the small slip ups here and there are nothing to worry about, they usually go away with more time practicing, and if not just makes our versions of the song more unique ;) ✨hehe
He's not called Von Smash for nothin
Awesome job. This is the first video tutorial i've seen for this song that sounds like the movie.. bravo!
Thank you so much for that, it's very nice to hear! 🙌🫶
This is gold. Thank you very much for creating and posting.
You're very welcome, happy that you found it useful ☺️🙌
Absolutely loved it. Your version is so true to the film. I’m only a beginner but desperately want to learn this. Hopefully someone will make a version a beginner can copy/follow. Thankyou
I'm glad you like it and sorry I haven't provided an easier version of it. :/ Maybe someone will, but I think you might be able to if you follow my playing and where it gets too tricky just apply your own touch to the song and play what works for you! :)
I've done that with other songs, sometimes just holding on to a chord is good enough instead of doing the "fancy" broken chords (or what to call them). Also, skip the alternating base in the left hand and just stick with the lowest base note :) With time you can always add these things back in✨ Good Luck!🙌
That was perfect👏❤🔥
Thank you🙏❤️
Hey, thanks for watching the tutorial. This is only my second one ever and if I ever will create more I need some pointers, feedback or criticism to see what can be improved. So please leave your thoughts even if it’s just a small thing! Would mean a lot to me ☺🙏 don’t be afraid to be harsh :)
also, upon request I added two Shorts to explain the last part of the last chorus in the longer version of this song (that's not included in this tutorial you just watched). So if you also need to learn that have a look at these two, they are about 1 minutes each ☺

So glad I could help! ☺️🙌
Thank you thank you thank you. So grateful🙏♥️
So happy you liked it ☺️❤️
Von awesome video man , well done I really like this , your voice is really nice to you sang this well , we are not perfect so don’t worry about little hick ups , we all do it learning and I for one can’t sing if my life depended on it shocking voice I have . I’m learning so this is going to be a tuff one but I’m determined to get through it even if it’s in bite size pieces lol , great job mate , love the tutorial , thank you for sharing . 👍
Thank you very much for saying that, it means a lot you commenting! And yes, you're right, the small hiccups here and there are nothing I should worry about.
I'm hoping you've had some progress? Is there some parts that feels really good to play yet? ☺️✨
I know the whole thing cause of you thanks man!
Oh that makes me happy to hear! ☺️ well done learning it ✨🤗
Fantastic! Thank you!
You bet! ✨
Thank you so much!

This is amazing, if you redo it ill be sure to watch and share when its a bit more polished!
Thank you🙏🙌 I’ll let you know!
Wow this is incredible
That makes me happy! :)
Nice tutorial mate, I’m not great at piano so you went a bit fast for me explaining the notes he plays for each chord😅 but thanks to your video and the one from TutorialsByHugo I’m figuring it out☺️thanks mate
Oh thank you for letting me know. Yeah sorry for rushing through it a bit. I'm hoping I'm able to recreate this so it's more polished and easier to follow. If/when I do I'll let you know for sure! Happy to hear that you're still going about it and figuring it out, that's awesome ☺️✨
Thank you so much ❤❤
My pleasure ❤️🙌
Thanks dude! I'll save this and come back to it. For once following a link in the comments of another video actually paid off. haha
hahah I'm happy I'm the exception! GL when you're sitting down to learn it :)
*boss thanks a lot!!! ur the best!!!*

You doing great with this explanation, I liked but I am rusted in piano, I will have to get back from scratch, thanks!!!
Thank you:) hehe, been there too. Just a few minutes every week goes a long way!
Superb tutorial. I realise English may not be your first language but you've explained it very well. Cheers.
Thanks dawg

Oh thank you! Greetings ☺️
Thank you!! It's very helpful ✨if it makes u feel better I don't know the names of the chords either 😂 I just watch where the fingers so I find you video great
I'm glad to hear that! haha, thx for your understanding 😅
I just checked out your channel and watched your cover of Havana! You have a really nice voice! :) Will check out some of the others as well but hope to see more covers from you ✨
@@vonSmash omg thank you so much!! That's so nice to hear 😂it encourages me to post because lately I haven't at all. Maybe I'll post one of Maneater thanks to your lesson
oh that would be awesome! I'll look out for it if you do that ☺️🙌
hey love that you made this video, suggestion would be when explaining each cord just add a video of the hand placements or just go super simple by just showing where each finger is suppose to go. for instance like "G minor" show where each finger is suppose to go. other than that love this video and keep up with the great work !!!
That's a great idea! Thank you, will definitely do something like that ☺️🙏
Much appreciated ✨
btw, isn't the first chord rather G# minor?
@@MrTrMaYes you are absolutely correct. I did say the same mistake one other time in the video too but managed to catch it in the editing so I added the correction in text there, but didn’t catch this first one however.
Will look through more carefully next time 😅
@@vonSmash anyway, awesome work with this video, thanks for it!
@@MrTrMaThank you:) if you see other misses or feedback, feel free to highlight them too just in case I haven’t noticed. Then I know what to do better next time 🙌
What keyboard or piano do you mainly use? I’m thinking of getting one any recommendations perhaps both cheap and expensive recommendations?
Hey, nice to hear! Well I only have the one you see in the video which is the Roland FP-30X (the updated version of the former FP-30) and I payed €730 for it new, though would have bought second hand if I had found one as they are well built and don't really degrade so quickly.
There is a comment by @user-ql3xw4qx8v you can find in the comment section here who asked similarly and a couple of other people also chimed in with their thoughts so look for that comment too and the replies.
In short, my only recommendations I can give are the one I have or the Roland FP-10 which are the only two I've tested myself and think are great keyboards for the price. The FP-10 is cheaper but still great and see the videos below for the differences.

Comparing the FP-30 vs the FP-30X: ua-cam.com/video/YTKWiVNMzi8/v-deo.html
At the end of the day, in my opinion (unless you're a professional) is the best piano/keyboard is which ever one you can afford. It's easy to postpone buying because there are so many different options, so if you're a beginner or getting back into playing then pick one and start playing :) When you've played it for a year or so then you know more about what you like in a piano and what you might be missing and will look for in the future ☺️
Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this version (free)?
Hey, sorry for not seeing this earlier. I don't know unfortunately.. I took this out by ear from listening to the song and I'm not proficient enough to write sheet music so I can't help you there either. :/ I bet there will be someone who writes some for this song though so keep an eye open (like google every now and then). Although usually I find that people charge for sheet music, not too much though, usually like $3-5 since it takes time and effort to write them I think it's a fair price:)
This is amazing. Thank you so so so much !! Magical. I recently sold my piano. 2nd one. :((. I want to get a keyboard that feels and plays as close to a real piano as possible. Thinking of the Roland FP-10. For around $500 to $600. I’d like someone in that price range. But if there is something a lot better for a little more I’d be game. Looking for feel and sound. And that Roland is not bad for the money. The keyboard in this video sounds nice. Anyone know what it is ? Grazie.
Oh my pleasure! :) I'm glad you liked it. I see, exciting with a new piano/keyboard! When I bought mine that you see in the video (this is the Roland FP-30X ) I was looking at FP-10 as well, also looking a bit at Yamaha P-125, but in the end I went for the FP-30X. Honestly, when it comes to the feeling of playing them I have heard that FP-10 and FP-30X are pretty much identical, the difference comes in the sound. Both sound great but the 30X sounds better.
I payed €730 (about $790 USD) for mine new, how ever if I would have found one second hand I would have bought that, but the town I live in is small and no one sold any second hand. If you're wondering the difference, the FP-30X is just the upgraded replacement of the FP-30, see videos below to learn what's upgraded.
If you end up buying a Roland keyboard I would HIGHLY recommend downloading the Roland Piano App, it's both in iOS and Google Play Store and it makes it sooo much easier choosing different sounds etc for the keyboard since none of them have a built in screen for sound selection. You can of course select sounds directly on the keyboard but you'll have to have the instruction book ready to remember how to get the different sounds you want.
I'm linking two videos to you that helped me before deciding what to get, I'm hoping they'll help you too.

Comparing the FP-30 vs the FP-30X: ua-cam.com/video/YTKWiVNMzi8/v-deo.html
Hope you'll be happy with what you find! Let me know if you wondering something else ☺🙌
I've got the FP-10 and I love it. I was looking at a few options when I picked it. The Yamahas sound a little warmer in my opinion by default, but you can use the app to add sustain and even add sounds, although I haven't done that yet. I ultimately went with the Roland because the attack linearity is more dynamic on the Rolands by far.
Check out the brand new yamaha P225, the successor of P125. I believe That’s close to a real piano tone. I prefer Yamaha’s sound compared to Roland’s.
Awesome tutorial 🎉 but here’s what is a challenge cos I’m a Guitarrist trying to play the piano😍 and you change the chords too fast , so I have to keep pausing to see the inversions and juggle with left and right hand independence , so I got impatient and left😢, but then as this haunts me I came back and trying to learn the whole piece ! Thanks a lot !
Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you came back and stayed persistent. I’ve found the same tactic helpful many times, try something that’s hard for me then take a pause for a few days maybe a week and then tackle it again!☺️
I’ll think about it till next time to play each part much slower one time before moving on.
Meanwhile I’d recommend using the video player settings in UA-cam and change the playback speed and also, in the video description I’ve left a link to the “The best way to learn songs on guitar” (which works equally as good for piano) where you can very easily select parts of the video and have it loop and also slowed down to whatever speed you like! A game changer 🙌✨❤️
@@vonSmashhi again from Spain¡! sorry to bother you, the first chord are you sure it’s a Gm? As I see it’s a G#m? Im yet on it😮, thanks!
@UnlockYourRockStar Hi again ☺️ No that’s okay, you are correct. There are a couple of those mistakes so don’t pay too much attention to what I call all chords 😅
Then there’s a D# chords somewhere that actually should be a D#sus4, but it’s sound alright anyway☺️
@@vonSmash thanks a lot for that, hey this is the best tutorial I’ve found re this version, I’ll watch for that D# warn , happy Sunday 🤘🏻
Thank you ☺️ I double checked and it’s actually the F# that should be a F#sus4 in the verses that comes directly after the C#m7 (if you listen from 3:57 minutes in the video) 🙌 good luck!
Can you post the sheet music on one of those sites where I can buy it? Would be happy to pay some money for it so I can just read and play myself at home :)
Hi, I appreciate the request but unfortunately don't have any sheet music from this as I learnt it by ear and I'm too much of a rookie when it comes to writing my own to do that for this song. If this changes somehow I promise to post it and comment here but "don't wait up" as they say 😅 I probably won't be able to.. Thanks again for asking though and hopefully the video helps a bit at least.
What piano are you using
I’m playing on a Roland FP-30X :) Bought it about 2.5 years ago new for €725 in Ireland. Not sure many places still sell them new.
I’ve been really happy with it and it’s taken me from a sort of a beginner player to more of an intermediate player which is what I was hoping it would help me do. (The most important is playing to improve of course but the piano can help inspire you if you find one that’s around your level/ambition of playing) ☺️
Great Cover and tutorial. Would you be able to record a piano (instrumental) version. There is only one currently and its like AI did it so there is like demonic words or something subtle in the background lol. Your piano and recording sounds really good man, You could hit alot of views with a karaoke version. tell you the truth, the person who made the karaoke version probably stole this then edited out the words, which why there is like subtle distortion of words faintly heard. Anyway man, great work. If you record the piano, i could put the words on there for you quickly and you could have the sole video to upload. i just want to sing it to all the maneaters...
Hey thanks for that and great suggestion! I’ll be away from home and computer for a week but will get to it when I’m back! 🙌☺️ I’m sorry I can’t do it quicker..
If you could choose would you have this version as instrumental or the full studio version? The difference is the full version has repeating choruses twice instead of once as I played here.
I might do both but will probably not be able to record them on the same day.
@mactabilis6039 Now, finally! I've uploaded my instrumental version now of the full song with lyrics and all. First time ever, and for such a simple video it was a lot of learnings still and it took much longer than expected. haha, so sorry for the wait. Hope you enjoy and please share your thoughts about it, your honest opinion is the best for me to make things better going forward ☺✨

i know it's a little niche, but is there a way you could explain what he's doing when he's holding out the "man" part of the last chorus?
Great question. I believe you are referring to the longer version of the song where he sings two choruses at the end, yes? Let me know and I'll add a short on how to play that specific part! Probably more people that want that too ☺

Can you put the sheet music online too please ?
Unfortunately I don't have any sheet music :( Learnt it by ear and I'm not good enough to write my own sheet music..
Cool! Thanks - you sound Swedish.
Busted ;)
do you have sheet music for this??
Hi, sorry I don’t 🙁 I figured it out by ear and I’m not proficient enough to write it as sheet music..
But if it helps I have a video for the full song as karaoke on my channel too where you can just watch how I play in one go without all the stopping. And you can always use the playback speed on UA-cam to have it go slower if needed ☺️
I want to play this song so bad, I love this song. But it's too difficult to learning for me. 😭
Yeah it is quite a complicated song to play like the original. But I'd recommend to try and simplify it on your own just by playing the chord shapes as I show them or even just having one note in the left hand as a base. So just playing all the notes at one time instead of the individual notes that sometimes is played.
It won't make the song super easy but it makes it easier at least :) And with relaxed practice (not too much each time) you'll be able to add back in some things ✨
Good luck!
In the verse The F# before the Ebm7 is a F#sus4
Yeah that’s true, one of many misses 😃 Thanks for pointing that out :)✨
Please, please, please do a cover vid. The playthrough was so close to perfect. Plzzzzzzz
☺️🙏 I might, we’ll see. But most likely after Christmas in that case though as I’m traveling soon..
I do have a full instrumental though if that’s something you might like :)

Im just struggling to see the exactly which notes youre pressing at some points but other than that great job.
great feedback, thx! and sorry about that. I'm thinking of possibly re-creating it and make it more clear but since I'm a big rookie at making tutorial videos I'm daunted to do because it takes so much time 😅 I'll let you know if I do though in the comments here!

This seems very difficult to learn as a beginner 😕
Yes unfortunately I would say it is a hard song for beginners, a lot of coordination between the hands are needed to play it like the original.
But you can still play each chord with all fingers at the same and it will be a bit easier ☺️ Then as you improve you can add in more of the advanced stuff 👌✨
I can’t see anything you’re doing 😢😢
Sorry about that :( I was a little sloppy when creating this. How would you like me to show it to make it easier? Would changing the camera angle work or add something like these piano animations? ua-cam.com/video/PkwS4XtRBD4/v-deo.html
Let me know if you have any thoughts and I'll try to implement it going forward ☺️
didn't really explain the chorus at all
sorry about that, yeah like I mentioned in the video I created this quite fast and sloppy so some parts I rushed past a bit too fast. Thanks for letting me know though! I'll think about it in the future!
If you haven't tried yet, you can try the Looper Tube website I mentioned in the video to select the part of the chorus you want to learn and then use it to loop that part and slow it down. I know it's not optimal but at least you might see what my hands are doing when the video is slowed down and looping 😬☺️
The website is simply www.looper.tube :)
