Céline Dion struggling with the lyrics, Marie Louise Werth struggling with the microphone, the presenter struggling with the juries - this Swiss preselection turns out to be an unexpected mess. 😄 But what an outstanding winning entry! Switzerland's strongest ESC contribution ever. 🏆
1. Hertz - "Muet" - 4:00 2. Isabelle Alba - "Clown dans la sciure" - 7:40 3. Renato Mascetti - "L'isola" - 11:25 4. Bernadette - "Balalaika in der Sommernacht" - 15:05 5. Furbaz - "Sentiments" - 18:55 6. Cocktail Band - "Tu sei" - 25:15 7. - 33:00 9. Céline Dion - "Ne partez pas sans moi" - 36:25
Céline had a short lyrics blackout during this national preselection performance, which obviously affected her vocals ... Nevertheless she saved it incredibly well. 😰
Who would have thought that out of this low quality bunch of contenders there would stand out the most important female singer of the 21st century so far... And right between her missing her lyrics and the presenter who was a bit off his own rocker, the experts' jury placed her fourth (maybe because of the word mix up???). I wonder how these people must have felt after she's won and a few years later till even now that she made herself THE No 1. Bonus track: I got crazy about this little phonetic play at the point of "et laissez moi vos suivrer" which seemed too Greek to me since they used it a lot in various folk songs of the 80s in Greece. On the other hand, her overall singing skills here as anyone can see left a bit to be desired but later on and till the contest obviously she found all that she was missing to perform exquisitely.
The moment I saw the first performers walk out with wired mics, I was like "oh no". By this time, everyone was using wireless mics. EDIT: And my lord I can't sum up how rough that first performance was. The male lead's voice does not mesh at all.
This is a very bad production of a national song contest to pick a song to represent a Country at the Eurovision song contest all the songs seem to accompanied by backing tracks when they should be accompanied by a live orchestra or at least a good band and nearly all of the songs were very bad anyway. Noel Smyth.

Expertjury giving Celine 3:th place 😵💫
Even worse: six points among nine candidates, that means they ranked her fourth. 😲
Einfach toll .

"Jury des experts" gave Celine Dion only 6 points....months later she won Eurovision!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
You don't have any from tye early 73 onwards??
This show looks surprisingly unprofessional for the time. Is this just me?
Yeah it’s just early installment weirdness
Switzerland's hosting of the main show a year later wasn't much better

Noel Smyth.
The camera works were awful
The thumbnail is quite creepy 😅
