The idea that Gordon has been single-mindedly holding on to that one particular moment the entire time, enough to send him into a raging frenzy, makes me lose it. The entire human race subjugated under alien forces, yet Gordon's primary grievance is over his personal humiliation.

It's funny and depressing how this video is a truncated version of Half-Life's history: From "Wow this game is impressive and I'm having fun" to "I'm so sad, why did the series end on this note with no sequel in sight?"

It's the primary reason Half Life 2, despite being amazing even years later, can never *completely* grip me with its story and setting; because whenever I see, for example, Gman doing his foreboding speech at the start, all I keep imagining is him with a traffic cone on his head, a melon in his hand and the biggest stupidest grin on his face.
I used to put TVs on his feet as his shoes, still funny to me.
Yeah, for many younger gamers it's basically impossible to enjoy Half-Life 2 even 10% of what it was in 2004. Not only has it set standards for the entire gaming industry, so things that were revolutionary and mind blowing when it came out today are like the basics which you don't even notice, because you expect them, but it has also been reduced to a joke by things like Garry's Mod which today is way more popular than the game it was based off. How many times have you heard a kiddie ask "is this from GMOD??" when they see Half-Life 2?
Young gamers will never know the feeling of popping this fucker in your PC.

As we age, the length of the telomere in our cells begins to shorten more and more, which weakens the strength of our regenerated tissues and this takes the form of aging. The telomere represents your genetic blueprint, and once the blueprint starts to fade, it becomes more and more difficult to keep printing the same information. The more your cells replicate and divide in your body, the faster this process is. That is why some people can look much older while being young and vice-versa, due to how often/quickly their body replaces cellular tissues. At least that is what I know of it.

Also, IIRC 16 gigs of RAM is what I had 3-4 years ago. And still have at the moment, since I too am an infrequent upgrader. Partly because I like to get my mileage out of my components, partly because I'm a skinflint, and partly because I'm just lazy.
