Came back to re-watch as this is one of my fav ray playthroughs. didn't realize it was green screen era and SEVEN YEARS AGO?? wtf i thought it was like 2020.
Thank you for not jumping on the bandwagon and hating this game like the rest of the world cause of stupid reasons or a youtuber told them too. Seriously its a great game if you loved B&K youll love this
The problem is it's 2017 and it has the camera issues of an N64 game among other problems. I still want it, I even backed it, but I'm going to be waiting for a price drop.
The problem is that it didn't fix any of the problems that come from the 64 era. Sure, some stuff is fine, but the annoying camera can really take you out of it, and the problem is every game company should KNOW how to make camera angles work in games at this point.
The bosses in this game tend to feel like they drag on forever honestly. The 4th boss was a three phase rule-of-300, and the final was like 5 or 6 phases.
Can anyone tell me in an educated way why this game is getting so much hate? It looks like it has personality and serves its purpose as a good collect-a-thon. BTW, I have not played Banjo. I missed the N64 by a couple of years.
ImmahfirinmahShadowz it's because someone that is popular on UA-cam by the name of jontron had said some of his opinions that made people mad so platonic removed him from the game and many people are also nitpicking the game like dunkey because it's not the same as banjo-kazooie
somany5 I havnt played this game but I did play banjo Kazooie. it looks like the third in the trilogy. it literally has thr same gameplay elements. sounds like the games is being judged to today's gaming standard.
Thanks guys. I went ahead and picked it up just as a whatever sort of buy (it helps that it was $40 not a full $60). So far, I really like it. It's got a few things (some camera wonkiness, some control issues, some cringy comedy), but I'm glad I got it. Just feels like a colorful world with fun concepts that can be really fun. Maybe the developers will work out a few of those small issues and the game will be solid. For now, it's worth it as long as you go in not expecting it to blow you away (I think the expectations threw this game down the dumps). Just a fun game to pick up and explore.
I'd just like to confess to inventing momentum. I was drunk and we were having a meeting. I suggested momentum and everyone agreed it was a good idea. Watching people get lost in momentum has been my biggest regret.
For some reason this game reminds of that xbox 360 arcade game where you were a Dorito delivery van and you had to avoids a huge T-Rex chasing you, or you played as the T-Rex and got robot T-Rex limbs as you completed levels trying to eat the van, huge destructable objects too.
There are no co-op achievements, co-op is just Mario Galaxy level meaning it's just a cursor that can collect quills or freeze platforms. All the achievements are basically just collectibles and beating the bosses.
I don't know WTF happened, but I thought I haven't see Ray post any videos or stream alerts for a while... then I discovered I had to re-subscribe on you-tube as I was no longer a subscriber. I can't recall hitting unsubsribe... cause why would I do that!?
I doubt it. He's been disassociated from an obvious bomb, and came out looking like a fucking hero compared to Playtonic/Team 17's disastrous handling of it.
About the same number of tutorials as Banjo Kazooie to me. I don't see where the "handholding" complaint is comming from after watching 4 hours of this video.
I feel like it could have worked better if they made fun of themselves for making a boring tutorial but there's literally "press A to jump, press it again to double jump" like, no shit.
Thank you, thank you so much for doing a stream/let's play of this. Everyone else is either not full, no commentary or obnoxious.
Capital B looks like an offspring of Gru and one of his minions.
The music tho. I can't be sad listening to that fucking music.

TL;DR: People are playing a game that's supposed to be a new 64-era collectathon and are bitching about how it is exactly like a 64-era collectathon.
The problem is it's 2017 and it has the camera issues of an N64 game among other problems. I still want it, I even backed it, but I'm going to be waiting for a price drop.

+Icee202 Productions if you backed it i am 99% sure you should have got a copy of the game
red5robb1 Nah, I only did the lowest amount for my name in the credits.
So the factory is basically Grunty's Castle, the Quills are the musical notes, the Grand Tomes are the worlds, and the Pagies are Jiggys.
"It's like when my dad left to get milk, except that's been since 1989"
Wow
I'm glad you're playing cuz from the others I've seen are either bored out of their minds or annoyed
The 1st boss was rule-of-3. The 2nd boss was rule-of-300.
The bosses in this game tend to feel like they drag on forever honestly. The 4th boss was a three phase rule-of-300, and the final was like 5 or 6 phases.

ImmahfirinmahShadowz check out dunkys video and that should explain it, but it looks good in my opinion

The game is great. The people who are hating on it haven't played it

Yay Rareware lives on in the form of Yooka-Laylee!!! :)
YESSSSS RAY!!! Stoked you're doing a playthrough of this!
the Second I heard the voices I was like oh sweet a new banjo kazooie.
I'd just like to confess to inventing momentum. I was drunk and we were having a meeting. I suggested momentum and everyone agreed it was a good idea. Watching people get lost in momentum has been my biggest regret.
This game makes me nostalgic but I haven't played any banjo game before
It's not too late
I've watched this play through once already and I'm watching it again and I'm just now realizing that Capital B is a bee kill me
I saw Vending machine and tonics, thoughts immediately went to BioShock.
The vore me comment had me laughing too much

Year late, but dash of destruction
Ray's dance moves are probably the best part of the stream, and that's saying something.
Dude Ray in the Mark Hoppus Octopus shirt!!!!!
So today I learned Yooka Laylee has a crosshair aiming system. Weeks after perfecting the game.
7:17 Oh I get, he is a trouser snake...
The villain looks a lot like Gru from the Despicable Me movies!
Does anyone know the exact version of "We are number 1" that plays for his alert? Is it the original or a remix?
2022 up in here
Why is Ray always saying please dad or dont do it dad? Where did it all come from?
Is it just me or is Ray's mic louder? I'm guessing its because of chat jukebox?
I want to buy it but steam says I need 8gb of ram when I have 6. Do you people think it'll run smoothly?
so has ray already played this game, or did he play a demo
What's funny is ray calls dr. bones (who looks like a girl) mr bones
So the villain was inspired by Gru?
hehe. trowzer the snake
Can this game be 100%ed in single player or are there co-op achievements?
There are no co-op achievements, co-op is just Mario Galaxy level meaning it's just a cursor that can collect quills or freeze platforms. All the achievements are basically just collectibles and beating the bosses.
Awesome, thanks.

What are bits?
is this 100%
does anyone know what jontron actually said?
Looks like croc
Why did so few people play Tooie? It was better than the first one in terms of everything.
3:38:35 BUT I DON'T WANNA USE MY HEAAAAAADDDD!!!!!
Reminds me of donkey kong 64 lol
Ray knows this is coming to Xbox One right?
THEoWOLF yes but he usually plays the PC version if it's available because it's easier to stream
He played the PC version because he was given a code for it
JonTron must be going insane right now 😂
Blaine Webster Why?
he handled it pretty well, and wish playtonic luck on their game
Because he was suppose to be in the game but got removed after his racist rant
Yes because JonTron is a racist, well whatever helps you sleep at night.
I doubt it. He's been disassociated from an obvious bomb, and came out looking like a fucking hero compared to Playtonic/Team 17's disastrous handling of it.
Trouser snake???? ;)
I already hate this game because it tries to hold your hand like a baby.
Its kind of the old Banjo Kazooie so it's probably aimed for children/ preteens so yeah
Hamsel Kurakers that's fine but I distinctly remember it not doing it this much in Kazooie.
+cryoshell17 Well, I guess let's be glad that tutorials like these fit for these kinds of games than mature ones like Dark Soul or Metal Gear.
About the same number of tutorials as Banjo Kazooie to me. I don't see where the "handholding" complaint is comming from after watching 4 hours of this video.
