Thoughts on this conversation? Moab 240? The 200 mile scene? Personally, I wanna see Max added to the 2025 Cocodona 250 start list. He would bring the fireworks. - Finn

As a man in long-term recovery from alcohol and drugs and picking up ultra running at 53. Max is a model for me. Thank you for your transparency Max and the gratitude you conveyed for your lows as well as your highs

Great comparisons between skateboarding/surfing and trail running, there are so many similarities between the activities in my opinion
    - extreme
    - counter culture (not 'normal')
    - dedication
    - individual
    - strong community aspect
    - nature (outside/architecture/urban for skating)
    - movement
    - speed
    - flow state
    - personal style (also community/brand based style)
    - physical toughness
    - mental toughness (somewhat insane levels in some instances)
    - clear storytelling opportunities (Thrasher My War vs Found on 49 for example)
    - Basic/no rules
    - genuine appreciation for people across multiple levels of the sport
    - as competitive as you make it

Max is an amazing ultrarunner - that's for sure. But what really struck and impressed me even more is what a keen intelligence and curiosity he has. His agile and strong mind seems to be his greatest asset. Finn, you are so good at getting the most out of the people you interview. Thank you!

Fantastic POD! I should have been in bed an hour ago but this was well worth it! First time I have heard of this bro and I love him! Love his story and how he approaches life and races. I can't wait to put this guy on my radar and watch everything I can on him. What he said about running being a catalyst for everything else in his life is just so true. I refuse to be preachy (in my life) but I just want to tell people, look.....if you get into running you will start eating better, you will sleep better, you will look better, you will be in a better mood, that will lead to better work, better relationships, etc. etc. People just have no idea the far reaching effects of running and the barrier to entry is basically zero. Go to the thrift store and buy a $15 pair of shoes to get started (if need be) and walk out your front door. It will change your life. Awesome POD! Thank you for this.

A coming from skate world to the trail world I have to say: Dylan Bowman is the Tony Hawk of trail running. Such a good listen! The recounting of the race by Max was one of the best I have ever heard. So many bangers in a row Finn!
