That's an amazing vlog, Kathy! Loved to hear about Corita Kent... I'll probably look for more information about her work and life. Thanks for sharing! I've been following your journey with the Artist's Way and watching your videos is always a treat I give myself after finishing a particular week. I'm starting Week 5 today! Hooray!!!
Thank you for introducing me to artist Corita Kent. Great video! I started Week 4 yesterday. I’m surprised what a shock to the system reading deprivation is. Guess I’ll create things and listen to a lot of music this week!
I really enjoyed this video and your thoughts and information on Sister Corita. My aunt was friends with her, taught at the same school and was a nun in the same order. Their story about the nuns leaving the order is fascinating-a testament of feminism and a beautiful example of using their voices and actions to not tolerate inequality. Her art and teachings are just cool-super forward thinking for the time. Thanks for sharing this.
You and Sister Corita have used different words to say something I've just recently started to articulate. I've been referring to my music and art output as "byproduct", like the stuff which occurs as a result of my hanging around and doing stuff. I like your way too, that "art is everywhere and it's nowhere."
