Started back in 2001 in South London - at the time UK capital of House music - today Steve Smith and Paul Harris take up from where they left off: thirteen years after the great success of “Days Go By”, they came back with LET THE NIGHT!
"The remedy to nostalgia is to be very nostalgic" says Steve: the night takes its revenge, memories put emotions and youth into circulation again. The new track plays with nostalgia and makes it danceable, attractive, even cheerful!
Steve Smith and Paul Harris are well versed in the world of electronic music creating Dirty Vegas over 10 years ago and are ready for the next step in the band’s evolution. Continuing a legacy of excellence in a career that has garnered innumerable accolades including the pretentious Grammy for Best Electronic Album. Smith and Harris have spent 2013 working on new material, not to chase the trend of "EDM" but because electronic music is in their blood, in their being and soul. The result is their 6th official release; an EP titled "Let The Night" which will be released on D:Vision Records on January 28th, on all digital stores and streaming services

This video and the message of the song itself made me cry. Such a powerful emotion. I know what it feels like to be hopeless and miserable. It seems like nothing is working anymore, like there's no way for you. This is a message to pick yourself up and carry on. You're never too old to feel young. It is never too late. I am 17 years old, and for some time, I really felt old and didn't have that fiery passion for life I was supposed to have. This is how I came to the conclusion that age is just a number. It doesn't reflect the vividness of your soul.
I just wanna hug this guy from the video right now. I can see so much happiness and emotion in his moves and he makes me wanna dance along.

People are getting married now and I only want to explore and explore. Just follow your dreams and don't cling too much to the past and future. A lot of people do, but those people don't see the beauty of living 'now'!

I thought the guy was a wreck because his wife was gone, dead or whatever. And here he was remembering her and the good times they both shared when they were young and into dancing. I thought the whole Northern Soul thing was significant here because that's probably where he first met her..
It looked to me like he started to cry right at the end when he lays on the floor and rolls onto his side.
This was like a moment in his life where he forgot the pain and absence of his wife for a short while. But in the end he's back to being alone and thinking of and missing the better times.
I don't think the message here is that no matter how bad life seems you should pick yourself up and carry on.
I think this is saying that he was remembering his wife in a way that was also very positive for him, just for a short while it was a relief from the pain.
He looks like he had drunk himself stupid at the beginning of the video when he woke up on the floor. So he is actually trying to blot out the pain and not remember that he is alone and his wife isn't here any more. This was a moment when he remembered her instead of blotting her out of his thoughts.
Who knows? The video will mean different things to different people i guess.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Chippy (I knew him as Tony) whilst I was doing some manufacturing improvement work at an Engineering company in Morecambe a few years ago. A proper gent, he helped me when I needed helping and chatted when some wouldn't! You're a good man Tony!

It's been 3 years since I discovered this song and I feel a very deep connection with it: at the time I was in a very dark place and this song was one of the reasons I managed to get through it. 3 years later, it never ever fails to make me feel instantly better whenever I feel hopeless. "Take another deep breath, look at your reflection / You're a beautiful thing and it feels right / Give a little bit more, try a little bit harder / Could do anything, hear what the world is saying"

Sadly the drum and bass mix isn't quite right, this is better!
It's the first time I take a look at this video and what I do really feel it's strange: it makes me both happy and sad at the same time. I see me in that man, old, alone, still a good dancer. I know I will be with myself for the rest of my life and I really like that old myself I see in this video.

I'm originally from the north of England and I grew up dancing to Northern Soul and this video captures the feeling of that unshakable connection like nothing else. Hi this is chippy the guy in the video world northern soul dancer champion I just like to thankyou for all the comments to the video I never got chance to meet dirty Vegas wish I could have the promoters film crew make up artists and rest of the crew were very professional worked with me well I trusted them completely they treated me 100% like I was a person with respect we all go through bad times it’s how you deal with it and.
