Ditto, the time difference between East Coast US and east coast Australia is just too weird. But thoroughly enjoy the plays. Thanks and Happy New Year to all.
@18:40, I really love how 1NT without stoppers is explained. I'm left wondering the following: - Is it the same for 2NT? My guess would be 'no', but I'm curious - If we turn out to have enough HCP for 3NT, should we worry about the stopper at some point? Or do we just assume we have it?
On board 3, you both endorsed No-Fit balanced Responder bids a stopperless-1NT. At minute 19:21 Gavin adds the "when you're not vulnerable" qualifier. Is NotVul 'nice-to-have' (or is it 'necessary'), to make this Responder stopperless-1NT?
Gavin, I was watching your 3 year old videos where you play robot tournaments by yourself, and you mentioned that the robots give count signals, so you must have forgotten!
i cannot catch these streams live but these video uploads have become the highlight of my weeks, please never stop uploading them!

I love listening to your thought process gives me a lot of thinking space. Thanks and Good Health for 2024

Great show

Board 3, just curious what you think about suppressing the 3 card heart support to bid 1NT yourself? You are 4333 with a good stopper after all
Never. While we may be balanced, our partner could have a wilder hand with 5 hearts.
3S
A number of these hands are an advertisement for weak NT. And I would be very irritated with a partner who rebid a four card suit.
