To me Britney Spears is like Jennifer Lopez vocally: a unique but not particularly awesome voice, and someone that has to put in effort to sound decent live. Britney came along at the right time to be a huge pop star, and managed to sell herself and her skills excellently, but talent-wise is nothing special. ymmv, of course!
