ahhh I unfortunately sold this synthesizer 2 years ago, and I hate myself for it. It was so much fun, and the unit offers incredible value for money. Coupled with some reverb or delay pedals, the possibilities are endless! I'll definitely be buying it again soon . Actually i made a track a few years ago and the Lead arp was created with this microfreak, the track is called "Rxt - femme fatale" Starting from minute 1:55, the melody slowly fades in. If you'd like to give it a listen.
its here on youtube :) Yeah just saw the stellar edition, didnt knew theres another version. I right up ended buying it a few minutes back, couldnt resist hehe@@NotThatCoolKid
I have the MiniFreak and I have made some cool patches but it seems like I enjoy browsing presets and making changes to them because it can be kind of confusing to make good patches
I love mine but Arturia needs to make a V2: add effects, add sequencer LEDs, drop the keys on the micro and make the mini have better velocity sensitive, and either make the screen 4x bigger with touch or have more stamp-sized small OLED screens for the different functions
The keys aren’t for everyone but you can easily control it with a standard keyboard. As for it sounding cheap…either something was broken or set wrong, because I have zero problem getting lush, deep sound from mine.
There are always compromises at this price level. There's a lot of versatility in the MicroFreak, but if you don't have the filter dialed in and don't have some external effects then it sounds very toy-like and harsh. Other options at the price range would be Roland JX-08 / SE-02 / SH-01A / Aira S-1, Elektron Model:Cycles, Behringer Pro-800 / MS-1 / Model D / 2600, Novation MiniNova / BassStation II / Circuit Tracks, Waldorf Streichfett, Korg MicroKorg / Monologue / Minilogue XD / MS-20 / Volca FM2, Arturia MiniBrute 2S / MiniFreak , etc. Each of these has some compromise to make, often unacceptable compromises. But let's be real. People who are getting into other instruments, like guitar. Don't have to spend more than $500 to get started with a playable instrument. Like something that would be ready for band practice and maybe even gigging. And beginners can often get by with a lot less. A keyboard with a decent keybed and a polyphonic synth that sounds reasonably good it tough to find new at a similar price. It seems like synths are either too cheap with weird limitation making them kind of useless or are big stage-ready synths that are well over $3k.
Still after years the microfreak is an amazing synth
I love my Microfreak..I run it through my 17 pedal pedal board in glorious stereo..
I love mine so much I got a second one! It does so many great things but I wanted to do some of those things at the same time

Best performance for the price…no doubt
Must have for beginners
Absolutly!
3 time preset knob clicks and you got INIT preset, no need for scrolling;)
Thnx for the tip!
Excellent guide. I'm waiting for my one in the post, and I feel far less intimidated by the workflow after watching this, Thankyou!
Glad it was helpful!

Wasn't bored, rather curious if you have any different insights for loving the Microfreak. After four minutes, I am bored and lost my curiosity.
Well what where you looking for?
u talk waaaaaay tooo much
I'm glad he talked just enough to understand how this amazing little synth works ❤
Tried it in person, felt and sounded like a cheap piece of crap.
I have the minifreak it is quite nice not sure about microfreak

Sounds great but needs something else for effects like an nts-1

@deathmetalhell You are not qualified to make that assumption.
