It really was
flimbiscuit it's incredible
Same with "What's My Age Again?"
i think he might has actually used a tele during recording. I know that he did with later songs
Vincent Mauron i think that half of the enema record was his strat then the other half some sorta tele setup and for stftk thats definitely the case

@@harrisonsdl3180 Yes but instead wasting time trying to find a song you like, I wanted to write it here lol
The tone for What's My Age Again was so perfect that I thought it was the actual song
What's my age again sounds so good on your guitar!
Joseph Moon Wow, it really does
He is tom
I think they used a telecaster on the original recording
@@spark4039 Yea i'm pretty sure they did. Tom used a lot of the guitars that Jerry Finn had and this for sure sounds like a tele.
ive never heard such a clean guitar tone. adams song gave me goose bumps

plot twist : he's Tom
+MrDjambronk whoa bro
whoa
I'd believe it
no he's better than tom
Hey b0ss
*mind blown to lil pieces*
Woah, that What's My Age Again tone is perfect! Well done.
Forgot Dumpweed
yessss
that is the best in my opinion
and josie
And Carousel, from Buddha tho
Seba Bucknell i like the extended intro better
To be honest I always thought that the riff to M&M's reminded me of Tom DeLonge trying to play Thunderstruck by AC/DC but kept using the high E string instead of the B string
listen to "young london" by angels and airwaves, it's even more close
Andrew Pappas shatap
+Giovanni Linares Why?
the same scale
he took it from the early wave of punk rock bands - Descendants
check his "Pursuit of Tone" video
I would say this is Tom, but this guy plays guitar normally.
Tom’s playing is good and plays a little faster than this guy, don’t try to make fun of someone when you’re not proving a fact
how does Tom play the guitar...abnormally?
@@alexzemaitis1207 Who exactly is being made fun of?
@@justinTime077 His guitar strap is pretty much on his knees, and his body pretty much looks like a banana trying to play most of his riffs live(he stopped after he broke his back) and instead of alternate picking, he downstrokes most of his riffs. He exclusively plays power chords and octave chords and he rarely plays actual chords(even on acoustic)
@@emmanuelbongar7370 well yeah. I learned everything I know from him. Long live the power chords, octaves, and palm mutes. I probably know more theory than Tom does. That’s funny.
With this video all started for me, it's been 4 years now since I start playing guitar, thanks man!
Man this is awesome. People who are legitimately good at guitar like this make me jealous lol
All of these intros are easy. The true talent comes from being the one to come up with those catchy melodies. Now, that’s talent :)
Yea most blink songs are pretty easy to learn.
Look up Tim Henson, that is just 1000 levels higher
Thank you for never letting me get bored with guitar!
Fuck a dog is absent 0/10
MrILIEKCAKE lol
Good video for beginners, i havent finished learning all the blink songs i wanna learn yet so a couple of these will be useful to me. I cant beleive you dont have wasting time on here, and in i wont be home for christmas i always let the single notes ring out while im picking the b string because i think it sounds closer to the recording
Nice clean sound!
I dont know why did you put man overboard's bass riff when the song has an awesome guitar riff
i really enjoyed this, thanks for the vid :D
flawless. good shit man
Very cool man, great video!
Just the best video of all the internet
Thank you for this and the weezer one!
The more I watch this video, the more I realize that Tom probably recorded most of the actual guitar tracks with a Telecaster or at least songs from Enema
I'm new to guitar but found this very helpful! Thank you.
this video taught me my first songs on guitar
Do you still play? Or have you stopped?
this is insanely good
the man overboard riff that is actually played on guitar is even more fun to play
Your tone is great!
“Going Away To College” should be up here.
Nice guitar, nice play, keep rocking dude!!!!
Your are a Master!!! The Best tutorial!
On a telecaster! That sounds great. This is a awesome video for anyone wanting to learn some blink riffs. Spot on. Definitive if you will. Great video!
Every tone sounds damn spot on!!!!
Amazing video dude!!! Very helpful
dammit is so much fun to play
I can't even play the guitar. This video is just so good I almost cried.
Awesome video man!
Where is Going Away For College, I know it's not that hard but it's still a great riff.
xxxtactician Idk if this is a joke and I’m boutta get wooshed, but it’s the firs one.
@@oval2k551 are you dumb.
@@JakeKokinsMusic exactly
finally learned m+ms thank you !
So easy to follow! Awesome 😊
5 years ago i watched this video at it inspired me to pick up the guitar. first song i ever learned was dammit, now i can play every single one of these super cleanly. thank you so much for this video, otherwise i wouldnt be where i am now, creating my own music and playing in bands!
what a good picking man!
Put the speed on 1.25x and you'll have M+M's & Dammit at the right tempo
Yea dammit i immediately noticed was wayyy too slow. M@M's didn't stick out much but dammit was very obviously out of tempo.
awesome every riff is clean and tidy awsome
dude thanx , gonna dedicate my life to learn this
This hit me right in the feels. P.s. I agree with every song on this list and you are a great guitarist:)
Feeling This - use open E instead of going to 2nd fret on A
Even better idea: Dropped D and capo 2nd fret, and then refigure it from there.
Cody Norris why is that better?
MGRaiden64 Cuz thats the way that Tom plays his guitar at live shows before the hiatus and maybe even in the studio
Awsumdude123 Oh yeah I never noticed that he did in the mtv launch, it shows him recording it. I don't understand it though it really isn't different without a capo.
MGRaiden64 It's Drop E. So like when you hit the first three strings when in Drop D, it's a D chord. Now in E, its an E chord, so he can play the riff in the normal key of E.
Top 182 Blink 10 guitar riffs.
This is great!! thanks!
Dumpweed is missing!!!
Love that tone
The tone on what's my age again was spot on
your sound is pretty awesome
great video!!
This is the stuff I learned to play when I first started playing guitar back in 06ish
Bro, the tone for stay together for the kids, Adam song and what’s my age again (enema of the state album) really really really spot on!
They were recorded on a Telecaster IIRC
@@emmanuelbongar7370 yup, and he use a les Paul to record the feeling this and he using his telecaster a lot too for we don’t need to whisper album
Yes this video is 6 years old, but your alternate picking is fantastic 👍
make a stay together for the kids cover, seriously 100% on point, sounds exactly like the song
the tone on whats my age again is on point
Whats my age again sounds exactly like on the record, i think they recorded it with a telecaster
Thank you sooo much
thanks so much
Yes! Like it!
Wow holy shit, m&ms was so quick you mastered it
You nailed some of these tones, I'd swear you were playing the actual song. xD
The clean tone on most of these sound so much like the originals it was hard to tell if they were the actual recordings or not! ex. Stay Together and Whats My Age. Now... Add distortion to Dammit and Gary!!!!!!
it kills me that no one realizes that you can play Man Overboard's intro by just alternate picking the open G and taping frets 7 5 4 when necessary. Makes it way easier
While that's true with bass, the instrument that the riff is actually played on, it all sounds too high if you play it that way on guitar.
Kenneth Edmonds While playing Man Overboard's main bass riff (on an actually bass guitar), I prefer to play the pedal tone G on 10th fret on the A-string, while playing notes D, C, and B on 12th, 10th, and 9th frets on the D-string. I also use the same fingering used in this video. Though it is by far easier to play with an open G-note as a pedal tone, the timbre of riff played in 9th position is very, very close to that of the actual song.
I hope someday I'll know what the frack this means.
M+M's was amazing
Nice tutorial...
what's my age again sounds perfect
Thanks bro👍👍🛹
Nice !
I had no idea blink 182 was such a great band...
What's My Age Again had the perfect tone, I can't get over it haha
I won’t be home for christmas ❤️
thanks man..
Natives is a little wrong. You're missing the double pick on the first beat of the loop and you're also missing the second half of the riff.
how did you get that awesome clean sound on adams song, stay together or the kids?? like pickup, amp etc.
thanks!
Feeling this is played in drop D with capo 2 to get that low E in a more bassy tone so the last note of every time you go through the riff is just the open top 3 strings
While thats how it was recorded, the way this guy plays it makes it easier for everyone as you wont need a capo nor downtune the lower E and still you get the correct notes and a very close sound.
@@kleinkaufman8940 it doesnt make it any easier, honestly it just adds another shape to play rather than just not playing anything but the open strings lmaoo. and you technically dont need a capo or to downtune. u can legit just play the open e string instead of an e/b octave chord and its more accurate than this.
@@CooperRossum so the way this guy plays it doesnt need to downtune or capo and still gets the sound and lets anyone play it
@@kleinkaufman8940 no, im not quite sure you read what i said. an e/b tho is an octave still isnt the correct "sound" of the song. and anyone can play the song correctly and im not sure where that argument came from lmao.
@@CooperRossum but thats basically what you play with the capo, he is just adding the b note on the g string instead of the other E. My point is , this is easier than downtuning and adding a capo, talking from the perspective of when I was a begginer( nowadays I just play whatever when we rehearse this song, i stopped trying to imitate Tom a long time ago)
I like this
That sound is spot on! What did you use to get that sound? Guitar Rig presets?
I knew dammit and what's my age again already but I'm going to learn all the others now (:
thanks for video, u are awsome, do u can put asthenia too?
I feel like the solo from "Point Of View" should have been included, it's incredible!
Could you please tell us about your set up? 'Cause your tone sounds a lot like the tone we are used to hear from Blink-182's records.
Yout t shirt is the bird of atticus but alive
lol you’re right
Thought the same thing, lol
I thought the slower version of man overboard was the home depot song
So nobody is gonna point out that Give Me One Good Reason isn't even on here when it is one of the best riffs they ever made
Nice
Where's Dumpweed??!?
Mutt is my favourite blink song to play
Very nice tone. What kind of pick ups do you have on your tele?
hey, what guitar is that? Nice video
You pulled that off with single coils... Fascinating...
You can pull off anything with any guitar
@@nickgames7120 I dunno when I split my humbuckers they sure don’t sound like humbuckers anymore
What i fucking love this video
nice jobe
I want this guitar
@Tom Devaney I know that, I was just wondering what specific model it was though.
i wish i could play one of these songs.
Cheshire Caaat !!!!
Coooño, sos el puto amo^^
