This is a wonderfully inspiring video - these dogs are truly angels on earth. It brought tears to my eyes. It must be so hard to lose these amazing companion helpers. Assistance Dogs is one of my favourite charities and will be remembered in my will. What a positive person Tim is and you can see the love and tenderness between him and all his assistance dogs.
I can’t figure out how to have the opportunity to have an assistance dog. The freedom I imagine would be immeasurable. Please donate if you can. People get repeated service dogs while others wait for their first. The years pass quickly and the opportunity to really live grows less. Thanks to those of you who donate your time, money or any amount of you, I thank you and may you always be blessed.
ASKING FOR PRAYERS FOR MY hubby, Brian. He has been going thru Chemo and Radiation for Cancer. His new scans show 7+spots on his liver. Prayers are greatly appreciated.🙏✝️❤️🕊️💜🌹🪻
This is so amazing that you were able to access an Assistance Dog as an adult!. I was told, word for word "it's unlikely that you will ever see an Assistance Dog, especially through NDIS, as children have priority placement". I'm so glad you were able to experience a greater level of normalcy than without the help of your dog!... Cos so many people are turned away, that it's awesome to see this!... I hope you putting this up will spike up interest and/in supporting others with a disability who also need an Assistance Dog!

But what happens when an assistance dog retires? Did I miss something in the video? Where does it go when it has stopped working in its older age?
It wasn't clear what happens to a service dog after they are retired?
