Merry christmas, Wil! I'm running pretty low on chants though.. got AS Yipha this week and alter Shion yesterday via sidegrading. I'm only after Alma (SDE) and then Minalca in the future. Except WFS releases a new global first unit or surprises us with a new powerful character. The paid banner with a guaranteed Necoco is amazing for anyone missing her. The best of the best banner looks so good aswell! Unfortunately I'd go against the odds very hard. Only missing Alma and AS Necoco from that list. I have everything else or am close to sidegrading. Still, amazing for anyone without these units!

Hey Wil! I’ve just started a month ago and your videos have been a godsend! I’ve watched every back to basics, but there are still things confusing to me. If you ever need ideas for new content, going over how buffs stack/do not stack, and the principles behind team comp/skill choice would be immensely helpful. I often find myself wondering how I can make the most of my lucky pulls as F2P, as ES claude, alter Hismena, AS cynthia, Biaka AS, Daisy, and Flamme have recently been more challenging for me to use to complete boss fights. (looking at you true manifest shoryu steel). Happy holidays!, best wishes
Thanks for the kind words. In general, stacking buffs and debuffs of the same type have diminishing returns. For example, 2 50% type shields end up 50 + (50% of 50) = 75% total shielding. Same with two PWR debuffs. A 35 and 25% debuff would be 35 + (25% of 35) = 43.75%. As for team comp and moves I tried to cover them in other Back to Basics videos but it’s too much to cover even within those videos. My best advice is to continue to play the game and see what works. Superboss fights showcase a lot of the principles and moves in team comps as well.
I did the three times paid banner, got Yipha AS (already had Yipha) but very happy with that since she's also my first wind zone Alma which was one of my targets so very happy about that ...and Necoco AS which for me was one of my least wanted since I'm not a big fan of her in general but she's new overall so I really can't complain Not bad at all since the only characters I had were Radias AS and Mistrare AS. The greed in me really wanted Orleya, Flam, or even Eva but it's whatever I also have no idea how to use any of them except that Yipha and Necoco are insane supports and Alma.. no idea
Congrats! Check my 5* review of Alma for more info. As for AS Yipha, you use her one move to bless your main dps, then the other move to boost their stats. I don’t have AS Necoco so can’t make a 5* review of her yet
Just have to say, I just got AS Necoco and her boosts are off the charts! Especially for an Earth team, she can make them unbelievable strong. Plus her element switching is incredible. Definitely more support based instead of her offensive original style.
I was gonna blow my paid stones on SDE for Necoco later. If I don't hit her in 2 10x free pulls I'll probably use the paid stones from the starter pack on the guaranteed NS version. Separately, I hope they fix the bug that locks up the game at the end of the theater house in the first Persona collab. Saw a guy on an official FB post complaining about it. My son's account had that bug the first time, and I ended up having to make him a new account. It's pretty bad and feels like it's been ignored forever.
Not pulling on AS Necoco, even with the delay of getting her treatises, as I already have the NS version. Actually, new players don't normally get access to 1k CS in Ch 1. A rare social media campaign might provide an extra 650 CS (I started off with 1650 CS last Dec: 1k from the Chrono Cross bonus + 650 from social media promo), but outside of the new Symphony promo, you won't have enough for a 10 pull until probably around Ch. 6, when the first early game challenge comes. WFS really wants new players to start during new Symphony time.
@@WilMakGamerDad No, maybe that was true in the past, but new accounts normally don't get much. This is why in the AE subreddit, veterans don't recommend you reroll outside of the promo period. Because it's a PITA to get enough CS in the beginning, when you don't have many achievements done to do a 10 pull.
They do different things, so if you have enough materials you can sidegrade one to the other if you choose. AS Necoco's strengths are her debuffs/buffs, and the ability to change your whole team to the element of the zone you're in, but no DPS. NS Necoco has some DPS, strong heal, and great combo building during AF with crit damage up. I would use both, and I will sidegrade mine to the AS once I have the materials.

I felt kind of uneasy when they decided that banners would last a lot longer, thereby delaying characters coming to the standard pool. And now they're holding treatises until sometime after character release? I don't like this trend. Fortunately, I'm not looking for AS Necoco anytime soon, so I can wait. I'm just hoping for one more Fraulein opus... I squawked so loudly when BOTH Dad and Big Brother pulled her nice and easy, but Mom and I are up to two Fraulein opuses each via Sensationalist encounters, so I do feel quite hopeful! Honestly we got quite lucky in the PCD so soon after her release, but then again, all the extra keys sure are helping.
No, there are 3 Garulea dungeons you can grind grastas in. The first one that unlocks is Present Garulea AD or PGAD. This is also where you can grind Azami's light. Later, you get access to Antiquity Garulea or AGAD, where you grind Gariyu's shadow. Finally, there is Future Garulea AD or FGAD, where you grind Cerrine's light. If you want to get strong against superboss fights, I highly recommend you spend most of your time in AGAD, since AGAD has lots of pain/poison grastas. NS Gariyu is very strong these days with his true manifest weapon, so he should wipe out the AGAD mobs easily.
One last thing to mention: most of us consider Underworld dungeon part of that group too since it also requires 2 green keys and has it’s own sets of grasta and ore to obtain. Check my Back to Basics video on grasta up to 2.8.500 for more info.

Yes, any bug that prevents players from playing/finishing the game needs to be addressed. Sorry to hear your son had to restart the game due to it.

Really? I thought even without the campaign, new accounts used to get 1000 stones. But of course I haven’t started a new game in forever 😅

I'm still confused about grinding grastas. Do you get all the grastas from that one gerulean dungeon?
Each garulea dungeon has some grastas they drop but not all of them. A list of what dungeon drops what is on the anothereden wiki.

As biaka poison does so much damage that you can clear superbosses by just stalling with AS soira
