"YEEEEEAH" -Rob Zombie
Yeah
YEEEEAAAAUH(Rob zombily)
A loud and hardy Yeeeah to you my good sir
The man who uses "Yeah" and "motherfucker" like most people use fullstops and commas.
@@mothpig I had green poop today. I’m letting everybody know cuz it’s been awhile since I’ve had green poop
Fun Fact: When Rob Zombie sings "I am the Nexus-1, I want more life fucker, I ain't done," He's making a direct reference to the first Bladerunner movie.
The title is a reference to Blade Runner... the replicants are advertised as 'More Human than Human'
@@durrr123 Oops. I forgot that. Thanks for reminding me.
Tyrell (Joe Turkel) actually says the line - more human than human - to Roy (Rutger Hauer) in Blade Runner
I had no idea that's what he sang lol. I was more into Morbid Angel back then.
for accuracy he should have said Nexus 6, but that doesn't rhyme with 'done'
This song was inspired by the movie Blade Runner. The movie and song are both about synthetic humans with a predetermined life span. "More Human Than Human" is the motto of the Tyrell Corporation, which manufactures "Replicant" humans.
Also where the line "I want more life, fucker" comes from.
I love this song even more now
@ghost mall Of course you would. It's Vangelis's masterpiece.
The moaning at the beginning is from a adult film cafe flesh
@@jimmyzeke13 Rutger Hauer was awesome in this role!
I think you'd like thunder kiss 65 more. Great vid as always
Definitely Thunderkiss 65
Soul Crusher, as well.
Yeah it’s up their alley for sure
Definitely! 👍 “I never try anything; I just do it. Wanna try me?"
- Play Dragula in club
- Low-key vibe and groove
- Meet Trinity
- Save the world
Metal heads LOVE this song actually.
Yep!
Never got into Rob's solo act but WZ were definitely in my goto Metal list. I got this the day it came out & the album was a staple for me for yrs.
Me too dude!!😃this whole album is groovy and yet still goes hard.I loved seeing them live, great show!!rock on!😃
This whole album was a banger. It has some weird industrial elements at times, but overall a fun metal album.
It's in my top 5 albums to smash to. Get you a psychoholic freak get wild.
I love this song. I am a Black woman, almost 70. I have the album. A jam is jam! I love horror movies too, just like Rob.
I liked the Electric head songs mixed through the album. Confused a few people who heard it in passing, lol.
@@adc2327 Awesome!! Keep rockin' out with your bad self. 🤘🏻
The weird parts are the parts that make industrial so good, if you were into metal and electronic music back in the 90s it was the perfect fusion
This song straight up converted me from a rap head to a metal head when it came out in the 90s. I remember this music video came on MTV at my grandma's house while I was sleeping over and it broke me.
I don't care what genres you're typically a fan of, this song has always been the epitome of "not complex, but just sounds fucking good". It's a little repetitive, but you don't need to be some hardcore goth/industrial head to always have thought that this song BANGS 🤘
Edit: also I know Korn - Blind is on the poll... PLEASE try and get to covering that song at some point, it's basically the exact song that birthed the entire genre of Nu Metal
Weirdly this isn't the version I have on Astro Creep 2000. This one has less oomph, like there's some sounds missing?
@@SuperDoNotWant the album version had the porno sounds and like you said "something extra," but I can't put my finger on it. They didn't listen to the radio/single version because it wasn't censored but something did sound off. Maybe it's because I haven't heard it in many years and it's just not as good as I remember but I agree with you.
@@jasonbennett2383 People often forget how much of our high frequency sound range we lose as we age.
I've noticed a few songs that seem a little more muted now as I've gotten older.
@@fs127 truth. I wish my ears didn't ring when it's quiet.
Repetition is one of Industrial Metal's key features. 😉
Zombie basically takes movies, processes them into lyrics,
and makes them much cooler than they have any right to be.
Born in 77 bruh.. im still rocking White Zombie!
same here
Born ‘76, electric head pt. 1, and real Solution #9. Almost daily. Wife’s playlist, born in ‘83.
3/7/68 son🤘🤘🤘
11/64
Born in 62 and rockin Rob Zombie.
i still love their cover of KC and the sunshine's "I'm your boogie man" for the Crow: city of angels soundtrack
Hell yeah! That track was awesome! Covers of any type are super super hit or miss. They got that one
@@TheFablekid They nailed that one WITH A SLAEDGEHAMMER!
That’s a damn good soundtrack
As an Old School Metalhead I was one of two people that I knew liked this band and White Zombie as well. Just was too groove based for them. But it was awesome live and in the club it was 🔥.
Joined the mosh pit for this in ozzfest when rob did this song. lol
Yea, that's where this song shines.....at a party or a club! Just totally rock out to it.
"Blood, milk, sky" is one of their best.
I saw them live when this album first came out....it was really good lol.
Tremendous album closer, it's atmospheric and heavy.
That isn’t a song…it’s an out of body experience for me, even now.
Hell Yeah!!! Rabid Lapdog, on POINT my friend!
I diiiiiied when you started talking about how Rob Zombie is low-key flowing in a lot of these songs. It is a badass vibe lol.
Rob Zombie and White Zombie are both dope! I saw him a few times and they almost always out performed the bands they were opening up for. I saw them with Danzig for instance and when Danzig hit the stage the crowd was already spent because White Zombie rocked us so damn hard.
I think it's pretty universal in rock that White Zombie was one of the bands you turned up the volume for pretty much across the board. They were regulars on pretty much every rock station. Their shit was just too fun to *not*, you'd be the only grumpy ass rocker in the room if you didn't get hype when it came on. Old heads might not have vibed with it, but I don't remember Zombie being any kind of controversial in the scene, they were just doin something different and had a lot of success crossing over from their lane.
Funny enough, that porno intro was part of the gimmick that added to the fun. Everybody heard the iconic intro music and knew that the moaning was going to come next before the full groove sets in. It just had a really fun and rebellious build to it that motivated you to crank it up with a grin.
That rebellious fun really is a fundamental of groundbreaking rock through the years, and that sort of 70s grimey, funky energy is definitely strong with Zombie.
I’m a 56 year old Metalhead & I love this song….That riff, bass line & his vocals are legit as all hell……..He does a cover of KC & Sunshine Bands “I’m your boogie man” that’s cool as hell
White Zombie riffs were always really simple, catchy, and easy to learn.
They're basically a fixture of the 90's metal kid starter pack, and will always have a place in my heart.
Great reaction! John Tempesta was such a killer drummer. To me, Rob never surpassed the work he did with White Zombie. Just a great group of musicians making fun funky ass horror metal. Rob did all the artwork on their albums, too. And who else used a fuckin SLIDE GUITAR in metal at the time?!
Agreed, 100%!!!
That slide riff in this song is so badass!
No More Tears - Ozzy another shining example. I remember seeing them play this at the MTV awards when i was a kid and it killed
Slide work in Ratfinks Suicide Tanks and Cannibal Girls was epic as well.
“Thunderkiss ‘65” is another White Zombie banger, and I think it was their first single.
Pretty sure Welcome To Planet MotherFucker was released first.
I remember seeing the video for it on MTV one afternoon while getting ready for work and was immediately hooked.
Sean Yseult is hitting that bass hard. She’s awesome with that thang!
I always have preferred Thunderkiss 65 to this one, but this one is decent. I hope that you get to Thunderkiss 65 at some point as it is groovy as hell.
And Black Sunshine, too.
The opening riff always gets me
For sure - all of La Sexercisto was unfuckwithable
Thunderkiss 65 is my birthday song!
I agree black sunshine or thunder kiss so much heavier
This was legit, the theme song at my senior prom… damn the 90s were great.
Blur the Technicolor is my FAVORITE track from this album, it’s so 🔥🔥🔥
I love Electric Head
That drum stick intro is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was 16 years old when this album came out, listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Alice In Chains and the like but I was also super into the punk scene which you guys haven't touched much - Misfits, Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Cramps, Social Distortion - but when this album came out - Man, I became obsessed with White Zombie. Other suggestions though would be Super Charger Heaven and Electric Head Pt 1 and 2.
literally headbanging in sync for well over 10 sec. pauses song. "I can see how this was ringing off back then."
Black Sunshine is a good one by them. I think you guys might be ready for some Shoegaze though.
Gripping the wheel, his knuckles went white with desire....... YES they should to that as well.
Iggy Pop sings on that one too
White Zombie was such a great band. Loved Devil Music Vol1. That whole album is nothing but groove and also fun as Hell to drum to.
Hell yeah, loved the grooves on this album! I used to play bass to several of these songs as well... Thunder Kiss, Black Sunshine, and I've always loved the groove of Starface!
as a core metal head I have to say that this song is fiiiiire
If you really want to get to the heart of this style groove, you have to appreciate the clear line to 70's funk. Especially George Clinton/Parliament Funkadelic. That bass line is straight out of the Bootsy Collins handbook.
No doubt. Bootsy Collins is amazing. His later stuff was even close to Death Metal at times. Amazing artist...
It was also pretty popular in some bars when it got released (I was in college at the time). You see White Zombie/Rob Zombie music get used in movies, especially in "post apocalyptic" bars/clubs.
The matrix lol
Glad you guys enjoyed this. If you're checking out more White Zombie, "Black Sunshine" and "Thunder Kiss '65" FTW!
2 best Zombie tunes
Black Sunshine 🤘
Dude! I heard Thunderkiss on Headbangers Ball back in the day and it was like nothing I had heard before. Totally blew me away - especially with that video!
Thunder kiss “65👍
"Black Sunshine LIVE '93" with Sean doing some real bass
Love that this song is a reference to Blade Runner. Tyrell’s motto was “more human than human. I want more life fucker, I ain’t done!!!!
I was hoping someone would point out the blade runner connection
Never Gonna Stop Me... literally one of the greatest bass riffs in music history.
Thanks for covering this! Lifelong metal head, I literally hid this CD under my mattress in middle school. Yeeeeah!
I love and appreciate the fact that you guys checked out the full version and not the radio edit.
you guys might have heard the song in the movie "The Cable Guy", it's used in a pretty key scene.
Their best groove is "Blur the Technicolor". Please check that song out, it's one of my favorite songs ever. White Zombie is criminally underrated.
Yes. The riffs in that song are really bad ass. Probably my fave by them.
La Sexorcisto is a classic. I used to dance to Thunder kiss ‘65 at the clubs. Black Sunshine is another favorite.
White Zombie - "Super charger heaven"
Some of the overlooked bands of the 90's u could check out: Life of Agony (song: 'Weeds")... Ugly Kid Joe (song: "Milkman's son") ... Stuck Mojo (song: 'Rising')
Living Dead Girl by Rob Zombie is my favorite from him. Fun fact: the cover of that album scared my mom so bad she threw out my copy. A week later she heard this song on the radio and told me she liked it. 🙄
A big thing to remember is that a lot of metal bands that rose to prominence in the 90's grew up with a certain amount of hip hop in their lives. Even if they aren't explicitly rapping you can hear the influence in how they sing and the beats they use.
Ive went to about 31 of their shows back in the early 90's back to back baked out of mind, back when only 100 people were crammed into a small venue headbutting each other.
WHITE ZOMBIE > Rob Zombie Solo. This was the song that got them on the radio for the mainstream. When it played in a night club, a metalhead could rock to it, an industrial fan who goes to raves could vibe to it, and a pop fan could get into the groove. At this time Rob was also an animator and made short films. The title More Human Than Human is a direct line from Blade Runner, a movie about human replicants. Other lines in this song from that movie too. If you want to hear a more metal White Zombie song then listen to Black Sunshine. If you listen to it while driving you won't even notice your foot getting heavy until you realize you are going 90 on the freeway. Also check out Thunderkiss '65.
I’m a 60’s and 70’s rock music lover and do really like this song.
I'm a metalhead and I still love this album. Fight me.
Facts. I like bands like bolt thrower, sodom, arch enemy, korpse and I love it
Rob Zombie is also an Artist and had a job with a major magazine as a graphic layout artist (iirc). Most of the artwork you see along with Zombie (White or Rob) was created by Rob himself, and he did the peyote trip scene in the Beavis and Buthead movie.
Prime Terry Date production here, the whole album still sounds amazing even 27 years later 🤘👍
I caught Rob Zombie last year in Indy. When he played this one and it kicked in, there were 1500 people jumping up and down in unison.
I don't think anyone didn't like white zombie back then. It was a universal hit.
Worked concerts in the '90s in Austin for a while. When Zombie came Rob wouldn't come out of the dressing room until we found him some crack. Took longer than anyone hoped
Those moans at the beginning must be someone getting twisted into a pretzel to some Digital Bath
You're from the right cloth using that reference my man lol
@@LostInVegas lmao my b i just saw this but your AIC and deftones videos are my fav so I seen em all multiple times. Isht is stuck in my head lol. now yall need to hear Chino singing Bodies with the Smashing Pumpkins
🤣
White Zombie is so much goddamn better than his solo career. Soo much better.
Still love it😊 It was great in the club back in the day too
You can mosh and get freaky groove dancing to this, this brings me back to the mid 90’s
They're a lot of great tunes on Astro Creep:2000, would love to see a reaction to Electric Head Pt.1 or Blood, Milk and Sky.
Both are absolute bangers
it's like i am earing it for the first time again watching you discovering it, goosebumps ...ThX
Got this the day the single came out. As soon as the keyboards came in, I was sure they'd tanked their career -- the techno crowd who'd be into the keys would get turned off by the aggression, the thrash crowd would be into the aggro but not the keys or the sparsity of the guitar, the grunge crowd would turn their noses up at Rob's new nasal tone, and the Top 40 crowd wouldn't have any reference to make sense of any of it. They'd shrunk their audience to "people who were into both Nine Inch Nails and Ministry" (a very small segment who liked heavy guitars, retro synths, and distorted nasal screaming, yet didn't give a shit that neither of the aforementioned bands were considered "authentically industrial" or "authentically metal" by genre purists). I was positive of it.
The album went double platinum.
Nobody ever accused me of being a prophet.
Its 2022...Rob Zombie is still AWESOME!!!
so good. john tempesta, the drummer in this band and for rob’s solo stuff also played with some of the biggest thrash bands so they have real metal cred, and more importantly he’s a big reason why songs like this one are so groovy and explosive sounding.
This definitely blew up and it's still catchy despite the repetitiveness. But, I agree with others who say there are better songs on this album.
I was listening to Fu Manchu earlier today and think you guys would really dig them. Something like Laserbl'ast or Hogwash. They're definitely responsible for some of the best grooves in stoner rock.
I can't play king of the road in my car, coz I know I'll get pulled over
@@whispersmith My 1 year old instantly starts bobbing to king of the road. No matter her mood, no matter where, she instantly starts grooving the second that song comes on.
Great band! i saw them open for Clutch back in '04, had never heard of them, they were amazing, fan ever since.
Kinda want to hear them do some Atomic Bitchwax too if they ever delve into Fu Manchu
One of the most frequently played songs in 1995 MTV channel. This song reminds me of "Alternative Nation" -one of the most popular MTV programs in mid 90s.
I am an old school metalhead, and this is one of my favorite songs ever.
White Zombie was one of those bands that crossed genre lines. Was pretty well received by metal heads at the time. Ive always thought of Astro Creep 2000 as groove metal. I don't know a single metal head who lived through this ear that doesn't rate this album.
I'd never heard it until 2018, they broke up while I was still in primary school so I just missed out on their popular era. Rob Zombies solo work was okay but it never really clicked for me so I assumed White Zombie would be the same. Until I had to find songs for a Halloween event so finally listened to them and their music blew my mind. Should have been listening to them years ago but better late than never I guess.
This whole band but especially this song is so much more attitude than it is melody and I kind of love it.
"Noise rock" is something I don't think you've touched on much; it's mostly been a niche sort of genre. Though I'm a huge fan. Amphetamine Reptile forever!
Yes! AMREP and Alternative tenticles are my favorite record companies. Such killer music!!
Haha if they listened to the cows I would be amazed. But that would be awesome
This did get played in the clubs and before that Thunder Kiss 65! Went off for sure , went to a lot of underground alternative goth /industrial /rock n roll clubs early 90s . I remember when TK65 got played at the club call TERMINATOR in SF in 92 - same year I saw them play to 80 people ? Anyhow the the dance floor lit up when TK 65 came on ! Great times!
Zombie always sounded like dance music to me. It's rave music.
Goddamnit I love these guys, y'all's takes are thoughtful and fascinating
The sound evolved from Ministry. Around this time, a lot of hard rock groups started mimicking Ministry's fashion, and use of electronica. Al *Ministry put it all together. He is the man behind what would become industrial metal. Rob is still cool but don't get it twisted. Ministry is the reason for NIN, and Rob's evolution to this sound.
"You know what you are" is my shit.
Also, his side project "Attack ships on fire" by the Revolting Cocks is great.
Al is the Prince of industrial. Producing, writing and arranging.
Funny enough, the tracks I recommended don't have guitar or hardly any.
If you wanna hear guitar, Ministry's "Burning Inside" is a classic.
Yeah. They really need to react to Ministry. NWO is a good choice.
There are a TON of great Ministry songs to choose from. Psalm 69 may be a bit much for our LIV buddies, though, lol.
Why don't you make out with ministry if you love them so much. 🤣🤣
I don't remember what magazine it was but it was very early 90's and had a picture of Al Jourgensen and the marquee was "Ministry - Music to lock Tipper Gore in a cell with."
Love Al and especially Ministry!!!,
Thank you! You Gentleman are a gift. Awesome! You are THE BALLERS. Period.
Saw them in concert with the Toadies in Evansville Indiana in 96 or 97....great show! 🤘
The most mesmerizing aspect of this song is the slide guitar hands down
I grew up with Robbie Cummings (Rob Zombie) in Bradford Massachusetts. He's been into retro music & movies FOREVER! The band I used to roadie for played out with White Zombie in Boston, in the late 80's. #CardinalSinPR
70s and 80s metal head here - I heard White Zombie and I was IN serious love. It's some wicked seductive music
From this album, my favorites (and suggestions) are:
Real Solution #9
Creature of the Wheel
Super Charger Heaven
Blood, Milk, and Sky
The whole album is great, but those are my faves
Blood, Milk, and Sky is the real stand out on that album for me.
For some reason, as a album ender it gives me similar vibes to Pay the Man at the end of Americana by The Offspring.
Blood, Milk, and Sky is sooo good.
Blood, Milk and Sky is awesome, and also has that sweet remix version on Supersexy Swingin' Sounds which takes it to a different level.
Rob Zombie is the greatest showman I've seen in my dozens of concerts. This album was on repeat back the 90s amongst my friends...
Would love for you to hit a couple more on this album. But my first vote would have to be for Super Charger Heaven.
I can listen to Astro Creep: 2000 (the album this song is on) on a loop. And did when it came out. Lol. More Human Than Human was my walkout song when I was fighting Muay Thai at 16 yrs old. Got a LOT of funny looks when his wife started moaning in the beginning.
That's not his wife. His relationship with bassist Sean Yseult was over by the time they recorded any of these songs. The woman moaning in the background is an audio sample lifted from a 70's era cult classic Post Apocalyptic porno film called Cafe Flesh.
@@emwungarand
I had always thought it was Sheri Moon. Thank you!
I'm an "old school Metalhead"...in fact, I'm a Metal drummer, and I used to bump the ever living F**K outa this song back in 95-96. Had my 2x12's in the back w/1000w. This song banged HELLA hard...and talk about "ringin"...anyone ridin my car's ears were ringin! 🤪😆💀
This song was used in the Netflix original "Altered Carbon." It was a cover however.
Y'all got close! Fear Factory's first manager in the early 90s took their demos for their first album and went on to produce Korn and all those nu metal bands with their sound.
Faith No More was a big player in the proto nu metal sound as well.
Wait have they reacted to any Fear Factory??? They need to do that if not.
@@benji_lou they did replica on Patreon but didn't really care for it. Rough first song to listen to if you're unfamiliar
@@nineinchnailsrock : That sucks. Replica kinda sucks. Worst song on Demanufacture.
@@nineinchnailsrock Replica is better than giving George and Ryan a copy of the Fear is the Mindkiller EP... I actually prefer the Cloning Technology version from Remanufactured, because I enjoyed the techno/club style and it has a lot more variety.
No way, lots of metalheads like this song. How can you not dig on that groove? I still love this song.
"White Zombie" first ever zombie movie in 1932 in which the band was named after.
I’ll never forget, I was 14 in an indoor paintball match and they put this on… it went off… fuckin good times…
Love Rob Zombie and I started listening to rock and metal in the 70s. Can't play it and not smile. Catchy as hell!
Another quality video, Been watching yall for years
Bangers are bangers regardless of genre, glad y'all liked this one
20 years old when I bought this CD at Blockbuster Music. 🤣
A time when we all lived our own lives.
Old school metal head here. I think White Zombie is one of the best bands to come out of the 90's.
I had the biggest crush on their bass player in high school. And this song is what made me buy a guitar slide.
this album never left on my playlist since it came out
What I love is that Rob Zombie somewhat “raps” his lyrics which is sooooo ill!!!
I saw White Zombie open for Anthrax on the Sound of White Noise tour. Lost my shirt. One of the best shows I've seen.
One of the best driving riffs in metal 🤘🏼🔥
one of the best live shows i have ever been to was White Zombie, 2 shows back to back nights
Teen in the 90s, this song rocked the radio
As a middle schooler in the late ‘90s, White Zombie was one of my favorite bands. Also, Tool, NIN, Black Sabbath, Fear Factory, & Sepultura. I needed heavy, but heavy with rhythm.
This song used to be part of a drinking game back in the day.. Everytime Rob says "Yea" you take a drink.
Saw this live and it rumbled the arena like I've never have ever heard a song do. That bass is so good! Just a great metal song!
