Crows are a proud people. Were always loyal to the US and never fought against the US-army. They even helped the US-army to defeat the Sioux.
We only did that because we were almost wiped out from diseases and no longer can fight that’s why we helped them
So your statement brought up some complex feelings, mixed feelings. The government forced our people to assimilate or die. In my grandmas generation her and her sisters had to go to Indian school, in one generation religion, speech and customs were affected or completely eradicated.
On the other hand natives are loyal and we are proud to serve our government through service.
We as a people should NEVER forget the history of how we were treated.
