i have a 1989 mk2 golf and it is seriously so reliable. They can be absolute tanks that will not let you down, it just depends how they have been treated over the last 25 years. If you find one that has been properly looked after it will last you forever.
Depends what style you want. If you like my front/rear bumper I ordered it through dubtechnik. It came with M3 style sideskirts but I never put them on.
Kevin, just from hearingyour name on Vortex and watching your vids, I can tell You are a Demi-God in the vw community.....thank you for taking it to "that" level.
If you have a VR6 the calipers will not clear, and you will need spacers up front. Yes I would recommend rolling your fenders because 16x9 up front will not sit flush. In my opinion I'd recommend getting a staggered fitment so you don't have to play with the offset up front. The fitment was as close as I could get it to clear the calipers.
It was my daily so it would look bad if I took the rear seats out, plus if I needed to drive a friend they can sit in the middle. All I would have to do is take out 2 screws and the harness bar comes out. The front seats fold down so you can crawl into the back if you really had to.
These are MK3 Hella E-code MK4 look. You need to get ecode adapter brackets or a european radiator support and also a US to Euro headlight wiring harness adapter to make it fit.
i got an american bought gti '97 assembled in mexico and super reliable, the only thing that have gone bad is becuase of use and wear such as battery, timing belt, bushings strut mounts, ..basically stuff that need replacement after years, but of course you have to get good parts either oem, febi, bosch or as long as its made in germany
Those were turn signals. Never got the chance to install fogs and incorporate the turn signals in the MK4 style headlights. It was just mounted by a custom built bracket.
alright thanks a lot man! lol i may just stick to the 17.5's all the way around. but i want to get either a flush or but of poke stance. will 20mm spacers get that?
Yes my fenders were rolled. I forgot what size spacers I ran but you need to for sure run spacers for the 16x9s to clear the calipers, keep that in mind. You will probably rub a little.
I have no personal experience with the FK Highsports but I have Raceland Ultimos on my MK4 GLI VR6T and for $400 bucks they are worth it. If it's for your daily I'm sure you will be happy with which ever, but if your want your car to handle get coilovers with adjustable dampening so you can play with the ride stiffness. (It makes a big difference with fine tuning and clearance for your fender/tire.)
"Flush" as in tucking the rim or tire? 16x7.5 20 offset with a 20mm spacer should probably bring the wheel out pretty close the the fender. I would research some similar setups if I were you though.
did you have to roll your fenders, add wheel spacers when rolling the 16x9? I want to buy the esm 008 and have a staggered set up on my mk3 vr6 jetta. So the 16x7.5 offset 20 in the front. and the 16x9 offset 15 in the rear.with raceland coilover kit. But i need to know if they'll be any rubbing? Tires will be falken 512 205/40-45/16. let me know what you think. thanks :D
Im very impressed with your front bumper setup, super clean, but im curious as to where you relocated your turn signals to? Are they wired up to your headlights like a true mk4? if so is there a diy somewhere you could point me to? TIA
Seeing how you have a VR and you said if someone had a VR they will need spacers. Im trying to get a 16x9 et 20 and dont really know offsets that well. So will I need to get a 5mm spacer to bring my ET to 15 to clear the caliber? and were you running spacers?
hey kevin, you see the Dubtechnik R32 front and rear bumper, whats the best place to get it from? bear in mind im based in the United Kingdon, England. Thanks
beautiful golf mate. Just wondering if you've ever had many mechanical issues with yours? my mate bought one and has spent $3000 just on minor upkeep repairs. is this normal?
I'm confused about having the rear seats. Why do you have them installed? You surely can't access them from the front with the roll cage in the way, and most passengers wouldn't be willing to go through the back hatch. Why keep them there?
hey nice car man. i have a 2000 jetta vr6 that im looking to lower soon. i was wondering what you think of those coilovers and if you have an experience with the fk highsports? how bounce/stiff are they compared to oem and how was the ride overall. thanks
Hey man. Im thinking of putting a whole heaps of cash into my 95 vr6 colour concept. I just want to know, why did you sell it to get the Jetta? Any particular reason? thanks
His first fault was to remove the VR6 sign in the front... The car looks quite good otherwise, but me personally like the classic Golf look more! But awesome rims!! What do they cost? I was already thinking about BBS RM or RS^^ But they're really really expensive

Just beautiful, all the way around. Awesome music and video layout. Keep dubbin' my friend.
Depends what style you want. If you like my front/rear bumper I ordered it through dubtechnik.

I'm normally not a fan of the 2000's and below GTI models, but this cars may have changed my opinion of them. Very, very nice car!

Kevin, just from hearingyour name on Vortex and watching your vids, I can tell You are a Demi-God in the vw community.....thank you for taking it to "that" level.

It's clean man. Good job.
Damn cant wait to get my mk3 gl running again. Im gonna install clutch tomorow
Well that's the only attractive mk3 I've ever seen. Your car is the same colour as my rims:)
"Flush" as in tucking the rim or tire? 16x7.5 20 offset with a 20mm spacer should probably bring the wheel out pretty close the the fender. I would research some similar setups if I were you though.

Im very impressed with your front bumper setup, super clean, but im curious as to where you relocated your turn signals to? Are they wired up to your headlights like a true mk4? if so is there a diy somewhere you could point me to? TIA
Beautiful !

Can't believe you sold this.
Thanks for replying, I'm from the UK so my VR6 is euro spec already :) what else do I need?
Awesome MK3 VR6. I like the OEM style, not one of these "it look like it can fly"... One question: Where come the muffler from? Look great!

Just wondering if you've ever had many mechanical issues with yours?
my mate bought one and has spent $3000 just on minor upkeep repairs.
is this normal?

@DkzFilmz
Yeah I was planning to drop a turbo in it but I found another car with one already.
so fucking tastefully done. i wish my vr6 gti didn't get written off.
Where did you get your seats, roll cage, and momo steering wheel from ?
Was that a prefab roll cage?
And I have the same seats
What mods on engines?? Awesome car!!
I honestly would have bought your car damnit!
Was the engine tampered with a lot, or is it pretty basic still?
Very nice
Are mk4 headlights a direct fitment or how do you get them to fit? I have a 97 highline vr6, someone said I needed the mk3.5 wings
did you buy the spring kit or just the spring coils to drop it?
Hey man. Im thinking of putting a whole heaps of cash into my 95 vr6 colour concept. I just want to know, why did you sell it to get the Jetta? Any particular reason? thanks
That's one hot Dub. I love it.
Nice VW MK3
I wonder where this car is now.

it sounds like Ferrari, i will received my RS body kit on Monday July 16. How much did you spend for the paint?
His first fault was to remove the VR6 sign in the front...
The car looks quite good otherwise, but me personally like the classic Golf look more!
But awesome rims!!
What do they cost?
I was already thinking about BBS RM or RS^^
But they're really really expensive
It's a Dubtechnik front and rear bumper.
