Excellent video once again Stephen, it's a different town now . I love the whole series that you have produced , they evoke so many memories and I seem to have forgotten so many changes. Thanks for sharing 😊

Thank you Julie, I think watching the past dissolve into the present is the best way to show the changes 😉

It’s so sad to see many beautiful Victorian buildings destroyed.

I love the transitions, its nice to stop them half way through to get a part view of before and after.

The tile work on the side of the Swedish mission church…..as soon as I saw the first photo I knew I recognised it. To see it’s still there and realise why I recognise it…..even though I could never imagine where I’ve seen it unless I was told. ❤

A very different feel to the area as I knew it from the late '70's and early '80's 😥

Seeing Wilson st 84 you see how much soul from the town they rip out with " improvements" 😢

I'm sure that the A66 could have been re-routed so it didn't do so much damage.

@@BigMack1959 Exactly its still an eyesore now lm still not used to going over it, l bet some people made a lot in backhanders back then, always quick to demolish that which can never be replaced.

I remember coming home from my first leave from Strensall army camp Elizabeth the 11 Depot the Kings Division, in 1973 and seeing Yanks Go Home painted on a wall as we pulled into boro it was still there many years later, still could be l suppose it must have been there since WW2, l used to get off at Saltburn then bus home from there on Saltburn Motor Services old chara bus driven by Frank a driver well known for having a couple of beers inbetween dropping off in Saltburn and picking up again, there used to be a fairly long gap between both to go to my old hometown. He alwys got us home in one piece, had been getting on that bus from being kids with Frank driving, cant remember when he finished driving, he'll be driving the touring coach in heaven now likely still with a few pints of nectar in him. 😅
