Now I’ve got to get back to my piano practice. Thanks for the kick I needed.

An average person probably couldn't do very well on a keyboard in only 90 days. But you are def way above average. I know you will be able to. Please keep us "in the loop" on your progress.✌

Hi, classical pianist here! If it hurts, you should IMMEDIATELY stop. It means there's a lot of tension in your playing and you might end up injuring yourself. A good posture and good technique are very important. Besides that, just learn scales, chords and arpeggios. You're doing good!!
Interstellar in 90 days is a very achievable goal. Good luck!!

There is a way to learn piano specifically for producing. Most lessons out there teach people how to play songs, which is cool if that's your goal. I've also always wanted to learn the piano for producing, and I went the jazz way. It's been a few months in and I'm starting to notice some difference. I'm still not able to just play what I want flawlessly, but I've seen improvements in coming up with chord progressions and I'm leveraging that with the DAW. If your goal is to learn specifically for producing, I'd suggest learning jazz. Even classical students who want to play freely usually start taking jazz classes to unlock this.

@@kond1e It teaches me the concept of chords/voicing. Now I can try out chord combinations that aren't just the typical diatonic chords for a key, for example.

@@flawoil9688 Jazz teaches you how to freely play and come up with your own ideas, if i would summarise my thinking. I'm using Open Studio Jazz. I'm on their site, but they have a UA-cam page too you can check out, especially the live videos. Gems are there.

Good job, Aurelie! This is so inspiring! I quit music school because I was young and didn't like my teacher and I regret about it all the time. I need to grab a full sized keyboard on Black Friday and start practicing. It seems I have a new goal for this year 🤩

Personally, I think that's it's extremely important to learn an instrument to get better at music productuon. Even if it isn't the piano, having an instrument by your side like maybe a guitar or something is really nice. I Am definitely going to check out Andy's classes❤❤. Love the faces you made btw😂😂. Good luck

depends, is were started from other point. as piano classes are great, the professionals are teaching you well, but there's another perspective which is how music works. what they teach you is how to coordinate left and right hand but is just a part. music in a very generic way, are melodies based in chords functions, if you got the chords, got the melody too , so is impossible fail bc you have the overall idea. now, when you play an arragment, is different, there's the bass clef.., and if you don't know how to control treble and bass clef, will be hard replicate all notes good bc the written notes are for experts.., so i would suggest you get the melody, get the chords and play it as you want even look those piano tutorials. go for an easy version, then go for advanced, but at that point you will play the complete piece, then comes the expert arragment to add those fireworks of notes.

    Hey there🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I have something, that might be useful.
I am not a teacher. But I have my style on piano and I play by ear.
There is video on my wall that introduces chords in a form that would have helped me back in the day when I would have needed it.
Namely completely just playing it by ear.
Maybe it can be useful to you too.
There is 15 basic chords with their inversions, all together about 50 chords.
Easy to follow and memorise in your muscle memory.
With those chords you can play anything that is in your mind.
If you find it useful, let me know your thoughts pls🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

For me, music production can be learned in almost pro level in 1000 hours minimum. That is from 0 to 30 songs about. No you tube tutorials included ( count separately). Because I play the piano, is you are an adult, piano can be learned in a comfortable level after 1000 hours. Pro level at 2000 hours.

@@panagope No, I meant 5 years practicing at least 3-4 hours daily. That would be around 7300 hours. 2000 hours would be a daily hour of practicing, which is not even close to be enough time to have professional level.
